Method 1:

 

Follow these steps and check if that helps:

(a) go to control panel, and then open administrative tools.

(b) click on services.

(c) stop these services:
Windows Security Center
Windows Management Instrumentation
SBSD Security Center Service, (if you use Spybot Search Destroy &).

(d) all allow them to start automatically.

(e) delete the directory C:\Windows\System32\wbem\Repository

(f) go to Services & continue all of the above Services or go to the next step.

(g) reset

You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Antivirus program and check if it helps.

    Thank you for your message.  You can plug your printer on another computer, in order to exclude the possibility that the problem lies in the printer?  You can try using a different cable, for this rule as well.  Since it is a question of recognition, we remove the external devices before software troubleshooting.  Do you get anything when you plug the printer (ie. a tinkle of connection)?  Please let us know, we are looking forward to hear back on your part.

    I just bought a Dell Inspiron.  It works very well except for my printer.  My HP color inkjet CP1700 printer is able to print 2 sides.  Windows 7 does not recognize that it is able to print both side and does not give me the option to enable printing two sides.

    Did you download the drivers from the HP website or just use Windows Update? Try using the software from here.

    Here to tell you that trying to call winodows activation is a waste of time because people ask over and over and over and over again for a product ID, even though I'm telling them in normal English that I can't give them that because I'm in windows and windows continue to flock to the top with this error that the windows on the machine may be wrong or what ever.

    With regards to Linux using the client.

    If you see the following installed on the computer, uninstall them and restart.

    -Intel Matrix Storage Manager

    -Intel Turbo Memory

    If you do not see either, try to install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology.

    Reboot, re-run the diagnostic tool.

    If the entries in the file Mismatch and altered file disappear, you're in luck.

    My security of the Windows Security Center service is disabled and I can't start at all. The Red Shield has a constant cross thereon. I'm afraid that I don't have a firewall.

    I have the basics of security of Microsoft on OK but I don't think that this has a firewall and I have a free version of the Antivirus AVG installed 2012 edition but again, don't think that there is a firewall on it?

    Any help to solve would be appreciated. My computer knowledge is pretty basic you could collect and I need step by step instructions, I'm afraid.

    (1) Windows has its own firewall - and does not normally require any other.

    (2) NOT to use two anti-virus on the same PC programs - they will fight them to the death!

    (3) AVG is bloated - and since 2006 (when I used to sell!) - I would now recommend against its use.

    Uninstall AVG, then run Remover utility

    MSE to uninstall and reinstall.

    What other anti-virus have NEVER been installed on this machine?

    Follow the instructions to run it, and then restart the machine (upon request or not, and if the program restarted already or not).

    After the reboot, open a command prompt and run the following command

  • HP Mini Atom N2600 1104: why the OS 32-bit (Windows 7 Pro)?

    I just bought a HP Mini 1104 (Atom N2600 processor).  The architecture is 64-bit capable.  Why it comes with a 32-bit version of Windows 7?  I think that the 64 bit version of Windows 7 would be a more natural match.  Is there some extremely effective in disk space, speed, or power draw using the 32-bit version of Windows 7?

    Hey, Ryan:

    A 64 bit OS requires more disk space and memory to run a 32 bit OS.  Not double, but more.

    Unless you have 64-bit programs, there is no advantage in having a 64 bit installed - OS, especially if the maximum memory you can install is only 2 GB.

    The processor is capable of 64-bit, but it does that of up to 2 GB of memory.

    On your laptop, you're better off sticking to an OS 32-bit for the aforementioned reasons.

    I even think that somewhere on this forum someone has tried to install W7 x 64 on their mini with the N2600 and he would not go because of an incompatible hardware error message.

    I don't get that because the processor is normally the only keeper there.

    There is a good chance that you see the effects of a hijackware infection!

    NB: If you had no installed anti-virus application or subscription has expired * when the machine was first infected * and/or your subscription has expired since and/or the machine is not kept fully corrected in Windows Update, don't waste your time with any of the following: Format & reinstall Windows.  A repair install won't help!
