You should be able to get some type of documentation that will explain the flashing red light. Also get the specifications for the battery of your specific model (see technical data). Though on checking support site for the manufacturer to see if they have their own forums, if so you may be able to find details about the light, and what is involved in the specific battery in your laptop.

  Hello. I don't have access to the Vi in question at the moment so I'll make it as General as possible. My Vi worked properly for a week or two, but today it started to flash red around the edge of the block diagram.   This means that your chart has been set to a big "breakpoint." Go to View > breakpoint Manager and delete the offending breakpoint.

  After upgrading to Mac OS Sierra, my 2015 iMac 21.5 retina has a flashing red Apple logo, then a brief splash screen flickering when starting. Once started, the computer seems fine, with no obvious debris.   Sorry you are having this problem with the red light flashing. It may be something wrong with the ink cartridges.

  Have you replaced them lately?

  1. perform a hard reset on the printer. Unplug the power cord at the back of the printer. Leave for 30 seconds.

  2. remove both cartridges.

  3. clean the contacts on both cartridges and check for leaks.

  4. reconnect the device. Place a cartridge in and and see if you get the red light.

  5. If this is not the case, go out and place the other cartridge in. See if you get the light RED or green.

  6. If you get red light on either, it may be a bad cartridge and replacement needs.

  I use Workstation 9.0.2 on a Ubuntu 12.04.2 host a Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04.2 comments. It is all running on a ThinkPad X 230. The guests were created when I had version 9.0.0 installed Workstation.

  I check title 'Report battery of guest information' for both hosts and started their. The guest OS do not seem to detect the battery.

  As a note, I have noticed battery reporting does not when Ubuntu eventually removed the path/proc/acpi/battery/BAT0 obsolete in favor of the/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0 way. I just guess that is related and perhaps Workstation leans on the proc file system and not the sys file system.

  Thanks for the detailed post.  It is exactly as you describe: my computer battery status relay functionality needs to be updated to use sysfs on modern Linux hosts.  We have an internal bug filed report to follow up this issue.

  Always on battery indicator indicates that the battery has a sufficient charge to power the computer and when the indicator turns red means that the battery needs to be recharged, it is the new type of indication and it is normal and there is no need to worry.
