Wide dynamic range equivalent Canon?

All, morning

I've got a shoot tomorrow and images is going to be edited, I know the guy do a very quick turn around time and also doent have LUT packages to use. I also know he usually pulls and like dynamic range color profile (clogged not) on the C100, as it seems ok on the camera, but also gives you plenty of room to play with him at the post. What would you say was the most simular color adjustment on the FS7, I tried loads but all seem to be really flat (as slog 3) or with a little look very burned in them as rec 709 standard.

I know, it should have read so we could create the exact appearance etc., but it does not so is not an option.

Thanks in advance!

Greg.

By saying this, 8 Hypergamma is much like the WDR

  • DNG at the PSD Dynamic Range

    Hello

    I have a small confusion about DNG and PSD. As far I understand WHAT PSD is equivalent to TIFF and DNG would be RAW. My question is if I had the file > Scripts > battery DNG in photoshop. then do what I'm doing in photoshop. and save the file as PSD. then delete the DNG of my file.

    will now layers (each layer being an any DNG) that have been imported to PSD still retain their dynamic range of DNG?

    Using the load files in the script of layers will change the DNG in regular layers. If you want to maintain the momentum of DNG, you need to use and do it manually. If you do this, you could delete the originals, but I wouldn't. I do not think that the HDR merge will work if your layers are dynamic objects, so it is best to keep the original files.

  • Apple TV 4 Dynamic Range

    There is certainly a problem with the dynamic range on the Apple TV 4.  Watching movies on iTunes, the difference between strong and soft sounds is considerably reduced. This has happened since the Apple TV 4 has been released. Yes, the setting for the dynamic range reduction is on OFF.

    As I understand it, the reason is that the Apple TV 4 manages audio decoding. There is no option to send a raw stream to an external decoder as an A / V receiver. Basically, the Apple TV 4 does a bad job at decoding.

    There is a full thread on this on MacRumors. Many people are upset.

    Apple really needs to fix this. Watch movies on the Apple TV is terrible and I started renting on Vudu movies using my Roku box because of this problem.

  • Dynamic range of exposure to t3i/600 d

    can someone help me by providing the dynamic range of exposure to t3i. (beach of the slab - exposure range the lowest and the highest in terms of f-stops for a given scene)

    See: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos600d/12

    Their testing seems to indicate that it is about 5 stops below and 3 & 1 / 3 stops at 4 & 1 / 3 stops above (depending on whether priority has been introduced on.)

    I think that these tests JPEG (I've seen no indication of RAW and they usually go their way to make you know when they do first).  It is much more important in RAW bit depth is likely to do a little better if you RAW.

    If you shooitng anything where you are worried about the dynamic range, then you should probably shooting RAW still.

  • Audio on the socket for headphones has a dynamic range very little. The music is piled up.

    Speakers of the laptop to listen to music very well. When I use the headphone music in my headphones has a dynamic range very little. The sounds of music crushed. The strong parties are limited and the soft parts are high until I can hear background noise in the recording. I've never had this problem on any other PC.

    I'm listening on iTunes, Soundforge, and any other audio program.

    I downloaded an updated version of the software for the sound card - that solved the problem.

  • Lack of resolution 4 K P2715Q. Change dynamic range to full

    Hello
    A few weeks ago, I bought the monitor P2715Q and now it's finally here.

    Once I turned on my computer, it automatically recognized the monitor and had 4 k resolution works just by plugging basically.

    After a few minutes, the monitor went to 'power saving mode' (who knows why! because I was surfing on the net) and could not go on.

    I rebooted the computer and the screen was on 4 k resolution as before. Tried to test the resolution on an old game and at first everything was fine. A few minutes after, the screen went black, had to close the game (by pressing a button on console - couldn't see anything). The bone was black also and still... I rebooted the computer! (message on the screen 'power saving mode')

    The second time I restarted, the display came not with the 4 k resolution, now the recommended and maximum resolution is FULLHD (1920 x 1080).

    My first thought was that the driver has been corrupted. I uninstalled the driver through the Device Manager, downloaded the latest drivers for my video card and monitor but nothing!

    I do not see the 4 k resolution

    Data sheet:
    Video card: Gefoce GTX 660; 355.82 driver version (this video card supports 4K resolutions)
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate edition; 64-bit (SP1)
    The monitor drivers, I tried: DELL_P2715Q-MONITOR_A00 - 00_DRVR_9XV8F.exe; DELL_P2715Q-MONITOR_A00 - 00_DRVR_7XVDJ.exe
    Display port: entry CDM

    Help, please!

    I went to a local store of DELL in order to test my monitor.

    Monitor works fine now.

    The following setting did the trick (on the NVidia settings):

    Output dynamic range: full

    By default, she had limited, change it to lot of my video card could support 4 k @ 60 Hz resolution.

    If you are serious about on the side of the fauna of it think the Canon 100-400 L IS lens, or even the Sigma 50-500 OS (kinda big & heavy for hand holding a large part) and read existing threads on the 100-400 & the 400 f5.6. It is a much better scope for wildlife that only 300 mm. You should also consider a good Macro lens for near work place that is not something I do, I'll let the others he made recommendations.

  • Using the Dynamic Range name in the Data Validation

    Maybe it's the time of day but I'm being a little dimwit here!

    I use = OFFSET(Data!$G$5,0,0,Vlastrow,1) for the range name Tbl_Names.  When I select F5 to check that the range is highlighted it seems everything is in order.

    On a leaf, I have a Data Validation that uses a list where the Source is = Indirect ($G$ 7).  G7 is the text "Tbl_Names".  The table of Validation and the content of the G7 is on the same sheet.

    Where am I going wrong please?

    Thank you

  • In the first video too dark files / how to set up the dynamic range better?

    Hello!

    To start, here's my basic/setup info:

    I am using Pro 9.2.0 (41) first build 10.0 Win, 64-bit (all updates are in Place to date,) on an i7 - 5930 K with 32 GB of RAM and GTX 770. The source of the layer footage is uncompressed AVI (captured with card HDDP Unigraf UFG-06 via the HDMI cable), 60 frames per second, with about 200 Mbit/s data rate, 12-bit, YUY2 video. I have CUDA and the problem occurs regardless of this.

    So the plot is, I'm running software on PC - 1, send the image of PC - 2 with the acquisition card, which records everything with the plug I wrote earlier. Problem is that when I copy the files to the PC-1 and import for the first, they appear darker than the real source. I tested with a test image of color, that I took a video capture card and then display and (professionally) alt-tab the original test image with the videos on a single screen. VLC video shows almost 1 = 1 with the original, but the first and all exported first lose one or two 'blocks' of dark colors and therefore lack of information.

  • Compression of dynamic range to set audio levels of people who speak at training meetings

    I know almost nothing about audio manipulation, but I recently started recording sessions of training for my company. Some people microphones while others do not. The tool that I got is the latest version of Adobe Audition. Is it possible for me to get easily all talk at the same level, so that people don't constantly put their volume up and down while watching?

    Well, you can use the dynamic processing to equalize the levels, but according to the differences between the voices (and some with microphones, others without sounds pretty drastic), you may not be happy with the results.

    You will find the desired effects/Amplitude and Compression/Dynamics treatment effect.  I'm afraid that's not the kind of thing where you can simply call a "Preset" and make it work the first time.  You will need to set the various parameters to control the threshold and the ratio of the effect to achieve the best results.

    For quick and dirty, it might work.  However the other thing to consider is manually adjust the levels on the fly.  Using volume envelopes you can change the levels by ear to adapt each piece to sound as good as possible.  This seems tedious, but once you get your hand, you can probably do the workout together faster than real-time.

  • Increasing the dynamic range

  • How to calculate the limits of dynamic range based on a value

    Hi all, I need to create a function that accepts as parameters:

    Ticket_id NUMBER
    NUMBER fluctuation
    Resolution_time NUMBER

    For each Ticket_id, the function should calculate the Resolution_time who "go time" according to the Fluctuation_ratio.

    For example:

    Ticket_id = 12
    Fluctuation_ratio = 0.5
    Resolution_time = 1.6 (hours)

    The fluctuation_ratio said that the range increased by 0.5 hours each time. So in this example, it must consider lines like these:

    "0-0, 5 h'"
    "0,5- 1 h"
    1 to 1.5 h'
    '1.5 to 2 h'
    ..........

    So the function must return the string: * "1.5 to 2 h."

    If the fluctuation_ratio was 3, the lines had to be:

    "' 0 - 3 hours"
    3 6 h"
    6 9 h'
    9 12 h'
    ..........

    and the function should return the string: *'0 - 3: "*"

    Anyone know how I can achieve this? Is there an analytic function which calculate each time the lower and the upper limit of the range 'hour '?

    Thanks in advance, any help will be appreciated

    Alex

    Hello

    Here's a function that does what you requested:

    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION resolution_range
    (      in_fluctuation          IN     NUMBER
    ,      in_resolution        IN     NUMBER
    )
    RETURN     VARCHAR2
    DETERMINISTIC
    IS
         low_val          NUMBER     := in_fluctuation * FLOOR ( in_resolution
                                                / NULLIF (in_fluctuation, 0)
                                         );
         return_txt     VARCHAR2 (4000) := TO_CHAR (low_val)
                              || '-'
                             || TO_CHAR (low_val + in_fluctuation)
                             || 'h';
    BEGIN
         RETURN     return_txt;
    END     resolution_range
    ;

    I tested it using this query:

    WITH   test_data     AS
    (
         SELECT  12 AS ticket_id, .5 AS fluctuation_ratio, 1.6 AS resolution_time     FROM dual UNION ALL
         SELECT  13,              3,                     1.6                      FROM dual
    )
    SELECT     test_data.*
    ,     resolution_range (fluctuation_ratio, resolution_time)     AS range
    FROM     test_data
    ;

    and got this output:

    TICKET_ID FLUCTUATION_RATIO RESOLUTION_TIME RANGE
    --------- ----------------- --------------- --------------------
           12                .5             1.6 1.5-2h
           13                 3             1.6 0-3h

  • Wicked clouds

    Hi all

    I took a few pictures of weddings, and in the course of the evening, the clouds seemed amazing and beautiful! but when I turned it the clouds is nowhere near the way they looked and idk if it was my settings. Is it my shutter and iso diaphragm? or is it the small stuff like all the al-servo [and stuff the other choice] or the measuring mode? I hate when I see incredible clouds and they seem all spread out and villain

    F8, 125 of the second, iso 100

    Screen Shot 2016-03-25 at 10.06.18 AM.png

    Idk why my clouds look like this or the other?

    F6.3, 400 second, iso 100

    Screen Shot 2016-03-25 at 10.17.35 AM.png

    The clouds probably would have been excellent if it were the only material in the image. But the problem probably happened because the camera was trying to expose to the clouds and foreground subjects. The clouds are much, much brighter that the wedding couple or the ground and making it difficult or impossible for the camera to adjust to the range from dark to light in the range of the sensor can capture. If exposure of the device has been set for the perfect, dramatic clouds, chances are the people or the grass would have been too dark. If the exhibition has been set for perfectly exposed people or the grass, the sky would be probably too light. The pictures are the compromise that the camera arrived at.

    There are two ways to solve this problem. The common solution is to add more light to the subject, using a reflector or a flash, so that you can get it closer to the level of brightness of the sky. The other solution is to get a camera that has a sensor with a wider dynamic range so that the range of brightness can be captured.

    With the photos that you have now, you can also use tools like the Lightroom adjustment brush to paint an adjustment in the sky. This adjustment is expected to lower the light and exposure value, increase the clarity and contrast and maybe some Dehaze.

  • Audio mastering for impact...

    I mix a video to a display screen in a 1000-seat auditorium.

    Program will be screened from a DVD source (among 5 other programs).

    Ma/video audio content includes presenter (synch) plus FX and music.

    The music is fast, dynamic, powerful and bassy.   ("U2 like sound").  FX. are clean and clear and distinctive. Presenter is properly registered on the spot.

    I'm looking to maximize his powerful to support the images.. .and if sure played hard. (I'm not going to be there and have a volume control).

    All pre mix titles will begin at the unit and are 48 kHz - 32-bit

    What should define or optimize spikes at?   (0dB, - 3dB, - 6db?)

    Should I use a compressor on the Mix Master?

    Will use some dynamic and parametric to clear the SYNCHRONIZATION of music. Is - this recommended?

    Advice appreciated.

    BTW - normally I leave that to my colleagues pro audio in their Suites of ProTools, but this work was little budget and I also wanted to learn a little more about audio engineering and ake a new challenge.

    A few good ideas so far.

    I do a lot of theatre work, both producing tracks for playback and also make the FOH mixing himself.

    When doing things for PB in an auditorium, I tend to use a little more compression mastering that I like to normally - there is always a little more background noise going on - public shuffle and cough, background hiss and rumble of ventilation, sometimes noisy moving lights.  A normally wide dynamic range often means that the quiet bits get lost in the maze.

    For your voice and music mix, yes add a little slight compression on the voice at that time also - just enough to keep the necessary clarity to the music.  I'm going to disagree with some previous advice here - I tend to use EQ to cut some mid range in music, just in the frequencies that help the intelligibility of voice.  Just a little of this goes a long way - you don't want the music resound obviously 'wrong', but a bit of EQ can really help the voice to stand out.  You mention parametrics but I would normally use the graphic EQUALIZER to this - guess either would work, but I am a creature of habit.

    Yes, at the end to get it to sound right, you can normalize to-0.1 dB.  As said, one running the Palestinian Authority will control the overall level and can twist your Dynamics mainly make sound well in the suite of editing... but don try too many subtleties
