WiFi on Tecra 8200 after installing XP SP2

I am running XP service pack 2 on a Tecra 8200.
The problem is that the wireless card cannot detect any wireless router.
I use a belkin G wireless router and it works, checked with another pc with a wireless card.

However the toshiba wireless client shows no wireless network, the router or another computer.

I have the antenna turn on and how to configure a wireless connection.

I tried the old drivers and tried a number of drivers out of this site and others.

But I had still not everything yet, does anyone else have this problem or a solution to this problem

Hello

If you use a client for a WLAN connection WLAN Windows settings SHOULD be disabled. Please check under properties network connection Wireless wireless networks tab.

There is an option called use Windows to configure my wireless network. This option SHOULD be disabled (without hook).

Good bye

Please let me know, how to start the laptop.

    Hello GoogleGuru,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.
Because your computer does not start until the desktop computer, we were able to try the system restore to a point before you install SP2.
Thus, with the computer is shut down. Press the power button, then press on and press F8 until you see the startup options, and then it will give you the ability to boot to the last known good configuration. (select it).

If this does not work, you can try to boot from the Vista DVD and use the recovery console to perform a restore of the system to another point in time.

    Post back with the results.

  • Tecra 8200: After SP2 computer laptop installation keeps rebooting

    Hello.

I am running Windows XP Pro in my Tecra 8200 and decided to install SP2 (oh error) now, whenever I turn it on I go as far as a blue screen with the following message
    STOP: c0000135 {Unable to locate component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

After my laptop keeps restarting - boots - blue screen again. I have tried everything to connect to windows to uninstall SP2, but I can not connect.
I tried to change the boot sequence (some ppl said that it was starting in LAN), I disabled the CPU Cache and L2 in the BIOS and still nothing. If I turn off reset on the failure of the system (as some other guy suggested) I just can't not anywhere either.

Unfortunately, I do not have the boot floppies so I can not format the laptop.

Now I know why that is happening, but the answers I get is to uninstall SP2, update the Bios, or to download patches, but I can't make one any of them because I can't get into windows, even in safe mode.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Hi Hector.

If you cannot start in safe mode, and then unfortunately mode your only real option is to reinstall your operating system to the original recovery disks.

I think something went wrong during the installation of SP2 and this has led to the corruption of one or more of your system files.

I also recommend that you take a full backup of your system before attempting to do a re-installation of SP2 so that you do not have to depend on start-up in Windows to regulate if necessary.

Personally I take a picture full backup to an external hard drive using Norton Ghost before applying any big maintenance work on my own laptop.

  • Boot problems after installing Vista SP2 (KB948465)

I installed SP2 via update.  During the update process there was a power failure.  After that (I don't remember if it's immediately after, or if a few days elapsed) I had problems with the startup.  Initially, seemed the Startup Repair to fix the problem, but not permanently, and the Startup Repair had to be used repeatedly just to start.

After a few times of what is happening, Startup Repair did not turn, and the PC wouldn't start.  After about 5 attempts using the decision-making power, sometimes choose the Startup Repair, sometimes choose to load windows normally, he did start.
I immediately did a system restore to return my PC before SP2 was installed.

After the restoration of versions prior to SP2, Windows Update showed that the SP2 update failed.  It was on 9 November.  As I need my computer, I didn't reinstall SP2 until I had finished this work.

As I thought that the problem is probably caused by the power outage, on 10 September, I reinstalled SP2.  Windows Update show no SP2 as an available update, then I downloaded and installed the standalone update.

Between the 10th and today, 14, Windows Update has installed more than updated.

Today, I was unable to start for the first time since the reinstall SP2 and Startup Repair has allowed me to open a session.
I tried to uninstall SP2 via update.  The first part of it seemed to work, but when it came to reboot, the PC stopped at the end power to the bottom of the procedure.  I used the power switch to turn the PC back on.  After startup, the PC told me that deletion failed.

Then I tried the system restore.  Unfortunately, the first available restore point was post - SP2 installation.  I restored it for the point that is as close as I could.  I tried to uninstall SP2 again through Windows Update.  This time, I receive a generic error message immediately (less than a second) - it does not attempt to go through the configuration - restart the procedure.

I haven't restarted my PC since then.  Most updates have been downloaded automatically, and the PC tells me that a restart is required.  I'm a little worried that I will end up with a completely insensitive PC.

I use an Acer Aspire X 3200 with Vista home premium pre-installed.  I don't have a Vista disc.

  • interruption of the internet connection after installing vista sp2, only a local network

    Hello
Since I installed vista sp2 last week, I have no internet connection. Just, my laptop connects to the local network. I had already tried to uninstall sp2, but this does not resolve the issue. A restore of the system has not been successful (do not know why, windows just said failure of system restore). I also deleted my antivirus program and my firewall...
The internet works occasionally for a short time and when I start in safe mode.
Because I live in a House that I have to use a fix ip, gateway and dns. After you install sp2, windows says my default gateway does not match my ip address and subnet mask when I change the properties of TCP/IPv4. Using another laptop with XP, the internet connection works with the same settings.
I would be grateful for a quick solution, without formatting ;)

I've highlighted the TCP/IPv6 line of course ;) the button was inactive when even
in the registry, I saw WHAT TCP/IPv6 is already disabled

my internet actually works, but I don't know why
I deleted the file DisabledComponets for TCP/IPv6 in the registry, rebooted, create one, rebooted and it worked
but I do not know why :)
I hope that my internet is still functional

  • Tecra 9000: After installation of SP2 Yamaha audio driver does not work

    Hello

I have a Tecra 9000, with a Yamaha AC - XG sound card.
The problem is that since I installed Windows XP with SP2 included, I lost my sound.

I also know that Toshiba is aware of this situation and they managed to post a solution for this. I tried this solution:

    Detail:

Yamaha AC - XG driver used the PortCls function to check the version of the operating system. XP Service Pack 1, PortCls function is changed, while the Yamaha rider cannot get operatingsystem version correctly. The operating system provides the Windows 95 version. This is why the operating system has a blue screen. That's why Microsoft has added that the solution and the clandestine drivers cannot work on SP1. This problem also happens to Windows XP SP2.
    Yamaha provides already the fixed driver Toshiba. The fixed driver version is the following;
    yacxg.sys 6.13.10.2152 with software synthesizer
    yacxgc.sys 6.13.10.3152 free software synthesizer

    How to solve this problem:
Install the fixed driver on a system before and after the installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2.
    Install as follows:
    (1) unpack a file attached to your hard drive.
    (2) to start the INSTALLATION. EXE
    (3) click on the next button.
    (4) select ' Yes, "I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish.

A toshiba engineer told me that first of all I need to install the old driver "5.12.01.3141", and it worked ok, but still no sound.
And then he told me to install the "6.13.10.2152" version, but it didn't. I got the error message "the driver was not installed.

I already tried many different drivers, including generics and the yamaha riders.

Please tell me a good solution for this problem if possible.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Do you get the CD of Windows XP Home edition without SP (or perhaps including SP1) facility somewhere? Tecra 9000 is old enough laptop model (6 years) and maybe you should start installing OS like original recovery image.

Install Windows XP without SP home edition and configure all hardware components. After doing this update to SP2 brand. Maybe this order facilities will help you to have BONES works.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Internet problems after installing vista SP2

I'm running IE8 and yesterday I installed Vista Service Pack 2.  After the installation, I got an internet connection, but could not access all pages including my home page.  The pages would hang and the little blue circle would go round and round and nothing happened.  I also have Firefox downloaded on my computer, and still the same thing happens again.

I checked my system tools in the lower right of the desktop and my icon for connectivity internet local and internet had a red cross on it that has not changed.  I restarted my computer several times and nothing has changed.  I used the prompt commands and ping google (my homepage) and found within seconds, so the connection was there but not able to access all pages.

I am running Vista Home Premium as my 32-bit operating system.

To cure the problem so far, I did system restore and completely got rid of the installation.  As soon as I did, my internet was totally fine with IE8 and Firefox.

Any suggestions, I won't install SP2 again until I know what has caused the problem of the internet, and he was healed.

    Hi Smokeycat,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Windows Vista Answers.

Since you have already restored the computer and the internet works fine, try to reinstall the stand-alone version of Service pack 2. Later, try to connect to the Internet.

You have security software installed on the computer? If so, try disabling the security software and install the stand-alone version of service pack 2.

Try to install the stand-alone package for Windows Vista Service pack 2, access the link below and download the file to the desktop. Later, run the installation of Service pack 2 from the office.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=a4dd31d5-F907-4406-9012-a5c3199ea2b3&displaylang=en

If the problem persists after you have installed the stand alone package, reply came back with the details:

    1. try to boot into safe mode with network after installation of Service pack 2 and try to access Internet
    2. in normal mode, try to right click on the network icon in the taskbar and click on diagnose and repair, if it gives any error make a note of it and we gives the error.
3 - is wireless to a wired connection?
    4. do you have any router installed?

    I hope this helps.

  • Computer will not activate after installing XP SP2 repair

I see a lot of people have posted on this subject, and some have set.  I did a repair of an old computer installation.  At the start, it says I need to activate my copy of XP.  It just hangs.

I can boot into safe mode (but not with networking).  I followed the 312295 article, which had me do the following

1 regedit-localmachine-software... - winnt - winlogon - notify delete RESETS (there was none this entry, so I didn't do anything)

2... regedit wpaevents OOBETimer 'Edit' (don't know what you mean about a hex file editing, so I just delete a line)

    3 renamed WPA.dbl

4 extended wpa.db_ from wpa.dbl installation disc (ran OK)

5 looking for any reset5.* or srvany.exe (no current)

    6 restart the computer.

The same problem.   Still will not start.  Any other ideas?

Some recommend to replace IE 8.  I'm certainly willing to do that - except my installation disc is a version of SP2.   So, how can I get a version of SP3 to install in safe mode?   (I download from another computer, but I don't know which version to get).

Why I installed? There was no failure, but because after 8 years of use the computer was bogged down so he could barely work.

But if this was justified is besides the point, because it is already done.

I installed SP3.  I Redid the things listed above.

I still get the message saying to activate windows and it crashes whenever I try.

So I took the advice of others, installed IE8 in safe mode.  Upon restart, it worked!  (An arisen window asking me to activate, I said yes and it worked.

This window looked like IE8 material - probably at the heart of the problem.

    Problem solved.
