Wii

How the world to connect my Wii to my wireless router? Have a 110 WRT.

The cable behind the Wii connects to a port on the back of the router lan.  Otherwise you will need a wireless game adapter.

Hello everyone.  What someone with the Buffalo-WII-1750DHP router?  I bought it because my old 1 TB TimeCapsule wifi radio is dying.  I thought that I would pass a router to AC that would allow me to hang a big drive at the back for backups Time Machine at a reasonable price.  This router seemed well side and has all the features I was looking for.

However, it seems Back to My Mac doesn't work now.  I checked the uPnp settings and they are enabled, as verified by the router log.  But I am unable to connect to one of my machines, when I'm outside the network.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I'm waiting on support Buffalo to get back to me.  In the meantime, I was thinking about leaving old TimeCapsule the router principal and just do the WII 1750DHP a WAP browser.  I don't know if the USB 3.0 on the back remains accessible and whether or not it would work as a destination of TimeMachine in this way.  The other issue that I can run is whether or not I can format the drive of the USB 3.0 with HFS.  I will lead my own test using a smaller USB drive (I have a 6 TB drive).

I thank all help with that.

... to the top for a router in AC that would allow me to hang a big drive off of the back for Time Machine backups ...

Then you will need a Time Capsule from Apple AirPort or AirPort Extreme current production. Both are in line 802.11ac. No other devices attached to the network storage will be reliable, no matter what that will tell you the manufacturer.

I was thinking about leaving old TimeCapsule the router principal and just do the WII 1750DHP a WAP browser.

You can use any router and add the TC as a customer on its Ethernet network, so it's not any concern with radio Wi - Fi from your existing Time Capsule. In this way, you can continue to use the hard disk drive of the existing TC as a backup destination Time Machine, or any player to USB hard drive connected to it. You will not require its Wi - Fi to operate and can (and must) turned off to avoid contributing to wireless interference. What you will not be able to do is to connect a hard drive to a non-Apple router and expect it to work with Time Machine.

I currently have a portable years under windows vista and through Virgin Media wireless router
    Thank you
    Lianne

The recommended site was useful, because it was a wireless connection problem. At the back of my wireless router is the http:// address and default password. When I typed the address in my bar http:// above my computer, he directed me to my Web page personal wireless rooter. Here, I typed the password by default and it came with the details of the technology, who had the key password I was looking for. This password key was in *, so I thought, I still don't know it! I have deleated the * and typed a password for new, fresh, then clicked on enter. He told me that she was applying new settings so I tried on the nintendo wii. It worked!
Hope this can help someone else.
    Thanks again

  • Questions now connection for Wii (NETFLIX)

I bought router WRT 120N specifically to view Netflix on my TV.  I have a persistent problem that is literally running me in circles.  I have configured the router and made the connection to the Wii without a hitch.  We watched a movie last night.  After the movie, we close our Wii.  The next day, we went to watch a programme and a code received the error 51330.  I looked at Nintendo to support and found by an online search that this code requires a security problem.  After several attempts to re-engage, we reinstalled the router using the supplied CD.  We have reconnected the Wii and were once more able to watch Netflix.  Yet once we close the Wii and the next day, the same problem persisted.  Reinstalled the router again and connected to the Wii.  We can't understand the problem of security.

The Wii recognizes the Linksys as access point and the signal is strong (green).  The Linksys does know that the Wii is an additional device, but it lists as offline when this problem arises.  If the two are aware of ecah other, why is there a connection problem?

Also, could not connect to 192.168.1.1

Reset the Linksys router for 30 to 45 seconds. Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router... Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase... On the router configuration page, under the Wireless tab... Keep to only 40 MHz channel width... Wide channel 9 and channel 7 - 2.442 GHz Standard.

    Now, check the connection.

  • Nintendo DS, Wii and WRT160N v2

I recently bought this wireless router to replace an older and I was hoping that I could access the internet with my nintendo DS and Wii nintnendo using this router. So far, I am able to connect to my computer via a LAN cable and my laptop wireless. However I had trouble getting my ds and wii online. I tried to information given on the website of nintendo, but nothing helped. I saw something on the activation of the DDNS (currently inactive) but my other options are DynDNS.org and TZO.com and I'm not sure how to get the information required under these two options. If anyone was able to connect these succesfully or knows how I can fix my router info so that I can play online, any info would be great, even if it's just info on one of them. I have a custom SSID and password, set except that I did very little manipulation with the default settings of the router. I don't am not computer savvy, so the more detailed the information, the better.

After a firmware update or the downgrade, you must reset and then re - configure the router...

Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

Also, you will need to adjust its settings wireless...

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...
For wireless settings, follow these steps: -.
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel to 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...
    For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WEP wireless security, encryption must be 64-bit. Let the empty password, do not type in anything...
Under type of WEP Key 1 in all 10 numbers please (numbers only and no mailbox for example: your 10-digit phone number) and click on save settings... Please note the 1 WEP key as it comes to the security key for the wireless network...

Do not use security WPA as sometimes Nintendo Wii does not connect to a secure network to WPA...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the interval of tag to 75 > change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 > click 'save settings '...
Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...

  • WRT160N v3 and the wii

Okay, so I just bought this router and all is well with any other connection at home.  wii captures the network but think that my password is incorrect in its connection.  so far ive tried affecting channels 1 and 11 parameters of 20 mhz only. also I added the wii MAC address to the list of exceptions.  still refuses to accept the password. even changed the password just to check if another would work. all the advice of someone who managed to get their wii connected to the WRT160N V3.

It came down to manually set up he wii instead of the automatic configuration then manually enter Key1 setting of the wii rather than trying to use the network password.  more running through the wiiconnect24 parameters and allowing the downloads and download.  He is now running.  Thank you.

  • WRT150N - Wii connection problem

Help, please.  I have a wersion WRT150N 1.1 with the latest firmware available (1.01.9).  I recently bought a Wii and cannot reach the Wii to connect through the normal procedure.  I checked several times that I entered the SSID and the correct key.

So far, I tried the following command to correct this situation:

    (1) tried to get all the info from router manually on the Wii

    (2) wireless and security settings in the router by several recommendations on this issue and other discussion forums.

    (3) entered the mac address for the Wii in the management interface of the router and configured to allow access only by this device

None of this has worked.  All help, assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Update - I have now the Wii communicates wirelessly with the WRT150N with WPA-TKIP, rather than WEP security.  It is a relief, because I really didn't want to leave my network wireless WEP value security.

Here's how I got it to work:

Checked the newest firmware on the router

    Mixed B/G router set

    Channel 11

MAC filtering enabled and set with the MAC addresses of all my wireless devices

Past the WPA-TKIP to WEP wireless security

Loaded the SSID in the Wii, selected WEP security then responsible for WEP key in Wii - ran the connection test

Test managed - started Wii software up-to-date

Verified that the Wii has been identified on the network with LELA

LELA used to restore security wireless WEP WPA-TKIP - new generated key (for some reason, router management kept interface back to old key, had to use LELA to get the new key)

Internet connection setting are erased in Wii

Réentré SSID, selected the new security mode (WPA-TKIP), and enter new key in Wii

A run the connection test - test passed

Now online with the Wii through my WRT150N wireless uses WPA-TKIP security

I don't know what caused the end it works this time.  It could be the update of the Wii software, it could have been the new WPA key or it could be something else entirely.  Maybe others can enlighten us on the root causes/direct solutions based on this story for the benefit of other users WRT150N similar difficulties to get their Wii online.

  • New computer Windows 7 and the Wii

Well, I really have no where else to turn, so I thought I might as well try these forums.

Basically, my problem is that my new computer Windows 7 Home (I just bought 1 week ago), may not share the router with Wii my brother. This is the router card, as well as my problem:

    Linksys BEFSR41 V4, 4 port wired router-last update

    ISP is Comcast

Configured for the port before the Wii, using the - Ports 1-65535, both TCP and UDP and assigned a static IP address 192.168.1.111 (which was at the recommendation of Nintendo on the phone)

Wii has been assigned a static IP (as mentioned above) as it was my computer.

Wii has the correct entries in the router DNS server

Wii is configured to use the wired connection

My computer is a Dell Studio XPS 8000

We have 2 computers and a Wii connected to the router, everything has a static Ip address. If Wii Port Forwarding is disabled, both, we can go online, no problem what - if - ever, everything is wonderful and quick. If the Wii is enabled on the router, my brother PC and Wii can apply online, but my PC can't. It has never happened before with my old XP sp3 computer (HP Pavilion, record quite high for the time, 9 years old, worked as a beauty ), but for some reason my other cannot share the line with the Wii. Just mine, no less . I don't know what could be the cause of the problem. I did research all this information when we first have his Wii, so everything was peachy until this new computer.

Please, any help is very appreciated, I traveled more than 4 hours time to mobile phone, only to get the evasive of Comcast and Dell.

Your TM602G is a cable modem which should work fine when your BEFSR41 resetting to the factory default values.  Note that your modem has a battery in it.  The battery must be removed, for a minute, each time that install you the modem with a new router, or connect a computer directly to it.  I suspect that is the reason why you couldn't get an Internet connection with the last configuration that we tried.  Also, do not connect anything to the TM602G USB port.

For the time being, until all computers are running, please unplug the Wii.

For now, please set both your computers in order to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain a DNS server address automatically".  Restart the computer and make sure it is always set up this way.

I think it will be better to start with a "clean slate" to set up your network, the next step will be to reset your factory default BEFSR41.

To reset your router by default, follow these steps:

    (1) turn off all computers, the router and the modem and disconnect from the wall.
    (2) disconnect all the wires of the router.
    (3) turn on the router and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).
    (4) press in and hold the reset for 30 seconds button, then release it, then let the router reset and restart (2-3 minutes).
    (5) turn the router.
    (6) to connect to a computer (if possible, use a computer Win XP or Vista) cable to port 1 of the router (NOT to the internet port).
    (7) turn on the router and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).
    (8) the power of the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it's off).
    (9) try ping on the router. To do this, click the 'Start' button > all programs > Accessories > command prompt. A black DOS window will appear. Enter the following text: "ping 192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that begin with ' response to... ". "or"Request timed out". If you see "reply from...". ", your computer has found your router.
    (10) open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to the login page of your router. Let the empty user name (Note: some Linksys routers have a username "admin") and in the password field, enter "admin" (without the quotes). This will take you to your router configuration page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually found near upper right corner of the screen). Exit your browser.

If you get this far without problems, put your entire network.  Then, using an ethernet cable, connect the ethernet on the TM602G port to port Internet (WAN) of the BEFSR41.  Leave your computer connected to the LAN of the BEFSR41 port.   Remove the battery from your TM602G and wait a minute.  Replace the battery in the TM602G.  Turn on your TM602G and let it start up completely (1-3 minutes).  Turn on your BEFSR41 and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).  Turn on your computer.  Now, try to connect to the Internet.  If you have trouble, temporarily disable your firewall software computer and try again.  If you get a computer to get an Internet connection is working properly, then (using an ethernet cable) connect your second computer to the BEFSR41 and try to get an Internet connection active.    STOP HERE and the report with your results, including the results of step 9 and 10, and whether or not, both of your computers working Internet connections become.

If you can not ' response to... ". "in step 9 above, your router is probably dead. A report with this problem

If you get a response in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, is that your router is dead or the firmware is damaged. Related to this issue.
