Win! 0 suspended on shutdown

I got an ExtremePro 480 for my ThinkPad Yoga 12 (4500U i7) laptop and I cloned the 250 original LiteOn SSD.

Now my victory! 0 installation hangs on shutdown when I use the system for more than an hour. He busted Windows, I get a black screen and no activity visible or audible, but the computer does not turn off and I am forced to make a difficult stop (hold the button for 10 sec). When I use the system for less than an hour or two, there is no problem.

The same problem occurs if the system is configured to sleep.

I tried with but no change.

Restart the system works OK though.

I tried to change the Cache Flush in the properties of the disc, but no change.

I see no log entry of the events that I can attach to the problem

Someone has an idea?

Thanks for the reply.

Today I found out what was causing the problem and it is not related to the drive, but Windows update 10 and Intel Management Engine Interface driver. I rolled back the driver to a previous version, and now the system works very well.

Thanks anyway

There are several command-line utilities, VB Script methods, etc. of PowerShell. • Suspend vs Shutdown

Just search a few thoughts when the suspension is better that close when it comes to server.

    Thank you

With the servers, I definitely recommend one OK stop!

Even if you have the disk space, required for the files of suspended (.vmss) that are created to contain the current state of the virtual machine, there is always a chance that you can not resume the virtual machine, if you do updates (firmware or software) on the host system. In this case, you may need to delete the .vmss file that compares to the pulling the plug on a physical server. I suppose this isn't your best way to shut down a server, is it?

In addition to these technical problems, you can run into problems of logic for example open transactions, since clients accessing the server could not wait for the server to come back online to complete the transaction, if you end up with partially completed jobs (possible incompatibility of data).

  • HDD activities delayed after suspend

I use WS 12 pro on Windows 10 host.

    Location:

When suspending a Win10 (4 GB RAM) Guest VM disk HARD record activities continues for several minutes with e/s to 100% charged after the release of the workstation. In the user interface, the suspension takes only a few seconds, but the HARD drive is still used a few minutes later. Test the same virtual machine (copy) on an SSD drive works fine (resume and suspend complete in a few seconds).

Performs another VM (Win 7) also having 4 GB of RAM on the same HARD disk, suspend about 15 sec, without delayed HARD drive activities.

Could this difference in behaviour be caused by certain circles?

    TIA

    Wila Hello!

Thank you for your reply and suggestion.

After defragmentering the guest and the host I found that:

    1. first stop was much more fast (about 30 sec) compared to several minutes (still not as fast as Win 7 VM)
    2. second time suspend, back to slooooow. Now, even once, taking several minutes with slow disk performance

    Difference between virtual machines

A difference I noticed between the quick suspension (Win 7) VM and the slow VM (Win 10), it's that Win 7 VM uses only a single file by disk vmdk, while winning 10 VM uses several files vmdk, each 4 GB (total 70 GB).

    Magical VMX settings!

After you add the parameters below to the VMX 10 win the RESUME time and disk IO file normally carried out. I found the same settings in the Win 7 VMX file. Do not understand what they are doing!

    prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100".

    mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE".

    mainMem.partialLazySave = "FALSE".

    mainMem.partialLazyRestore = "FALSE".

It seems that the performance is a major concern when looking on the net. I don't understand why VMWare is not to compile such an important know how in some documentation? Now, it seems to me we are all guessing... (expensive)

    Once again, thanks Wila!

  • PC won't stop before u kill the proquota.exe task manually

    Hello

When I try to shut down the PC (Win XP) with START-> SHUTDOWN, nothing happens.

But if I open the Task Manager and kill the process called proquota.exe and then go to start-> stop, it stops without problem. I want to be able to stop the pc without killing the process manually. I work in a company with 350 employees (350PC), and the proquota is pushed by the group policy.

Profile space shouldn't be a problem, because even if a PC is freshly started, it will not stop (without killing proquota first of course).

This actually happens on 2 PC in the company, the rest of 350PC have no problem with this (all run proquota.exe).

    Please help me.

    Thank you

If you use their firewall and the XP firewall at the same time, this could also be a problem.

It is generally not a good idea to use two firewalls at the same time lest they are fighting among themselves.  Choose one or the other to use, but not both.  The XP firewall seems to do a good job.

  • Win 7 x 64 crashes at shutdown.

I have a computer lab with 25 optiplex 740 s, all currently running Win 7.  Every day it seems at least one and blocking sometimes up to three machines during shutdown.   I do a manual stop hard.  They restart always fine, but with the initial screen, because the system is not stopped normally. It is therefore just a PIA.  He can't have the same machines.  Seems to be very random.  This happened since I installed Win 7 two years ago.  I tried to repair and restore and they do not seem to make a difference. Any suggestions to hunt these?

  • Firefox, update 3.6.4 suspended pause win 7 as administrator

I have the same problem at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/629710?s=firefox+3.6.4+update+stuck+on+paused & as = s except that it refers to 3.6.4 and I'm on Win 7 as administrator. I have been configured to be notified of updates, has been notified and admitted, but he stopped. Now I get the question to break the connection to update the server, and the resume is grayed out. I put a screenshot here? Do not want to reinstall. If the download 3.6.4 can manually install over the previous version?

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

Is when the 3.6.4 update has been notified

I solved this by disabling self-protection in NAV 2010. The Firefox immediately put to date. I understand the scanners, anti-virus / anti-spyware such as spybot and SpySweeper can interfere with updates. Also Comodo AV. It seems to me that any that protects the entire system is worth watching.

I'm not an expert. Don't forget to revisit what it to be disabled to allow the update

  • Satellite Pro A100 (PSAAC) with WIN XP - shutdown problem

I have problems with my laptop stops not when I ask to do. The message that TSrsTRAYWND isn't closing arrives and I'm invited to manual closing. Even if I do this, the machine "blockages" and does not shut down. I tried the boot without failure and closure then - it does correctly, but then when I start normally and try to stop, it is up to the "hanging" again. The operating system and other programs are fully up-to-date.

Can anyone suggest one solution, from other online for one, I see that others have the same problem, without a solution yet.

In anticipation of your help, thank you!

PS - I can't find any reference to the TSrsTRAYWND anywhere.

    Hello

I tried on my laptop for a TSrsTRAYWND.exe file but I could t find anything. If you search for this file on the HARD drive you get a result?

I think it has something to with the drivers/software that will be loaded on Windows start. You should try to disable all programs in msconfig-start up that you don't need online. Then try again.

Sorry, but everything that s what I can say at the moment.

    Hello

I'm a bit confused of Mr. you are not able to see the Start button in the taskbar?
There you can stop the operating system.
Have you changed some configuration settings?
Have you tried to use the System Restore tool that XP offers to roll back the OS in the old days? Select this check box.

    Hello

1 did you change your computer, after which the issue started?
    2. is your operating system updated with the latest Windows updates?

I suggest that you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Disconnect external devices such as printer, USB key, HDMI enabled devices and check if it makes a difference.

    Step 2:

I suggest that you start your computer in a clean boot State and check if that helps.

Note: The steps in the article to restart your computer as usual.
