Win 7 is unable to detect the 2nd monitor at startup

New install of win7 with ATI Radeon HD4550-PCI Express graphics card.  Running a 100th Mitsubishi Diamond Plus monitor and a Sony Multiscan 500PS monitor, both off the 4550 card.  At the start, the main screen (Mitsubishi) is detected and the second monitor (Sony) is not.  I can open the control panel for the resolution of the screen and see both monitors correctly identified.   If I choose to extend these displays, Windows re-labels as generic PNP monitor Sony and the Sony monitor then active and works correctly.  As soon as I turned off the computer and restart, the Sony monitor is still not detected and I have to start the entire process.

I deleted all of the ATI drivers and reinstalled the current Catalyst drivers (8.732, 26/05/2010), as well as the current motherboard drivers.  (The motherboard is Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H).  Integrated on the motherboard graphics is currently disabled, although it made no difference to the problem.

  • Cannot detect the 2nd monitor

I set up a new hp PC Friday and managed to successfully transefer all of my old that wouldn't work for the new (reconditioned). This framework has been implemented to UltraMon and reuse 2 screens.  EVERYHING worked perfectly and I was able to work for the rest of the day.

After coming back Monday morning, a single monitor works and I spent the last 2 days, looking at EACH side of managing this problem can be resolved and nothing helps. I contacted ultramondirectly, but that was no help whatsoever.

It has been suggested that I might need another graphics card? If this is the case, how can I get one and solve the problem.

Thanks to all those that are willingto help offer

Since the second monitor worked once and now it does not work, it may be that one of the components has not or there is a bad connection.  Check the connection to the 4 port is secure and that the monitor is coming by trying it on another computer.  If these two is Yes, then perhaps the displayport to DVI adapter has failed.

  • the 2nd monitor resolution

    Hi all

I'm working on an application that uses 2 monitors.

I have a VI that measures the resolution of the screen.

I want to know the 2nd monitor resolution.

    How can I get that?

    Thank you

    Ritesh

You can use a property node application, the display value-> AllMonitors. Index of this with an array and ungroup the result. This will give you information on the limits of the screen. By subtracting from left, right and top to bottom. You can get the size of the screen.

UPDATE! : I had no sound.

    Mike,

Disable the LogMeIn driver from Device Manager and check. There are a few reported issues where LogMeIn driver has disabled the aero thus also changed the screen resolution feature.

-Click Start, and then press on and enter type Device Manager.
-Double click on graphics cards to expand the video drivers.
-Right-click on the LogMeIn mirror driver and then click on disable.
-Restart the computer and see if that helps.

You can try to uninstall the video drivers and then install the driver from the AMD website as given in my first answer.
Note: it is there no trouble uninstalling the video driver. When the video driver is uninstalled, Windows starts with minimum VGA drivers. The resolution of the screen (icons on the screen) may look bigger, but after installing the latest video drivers, the screen resolution will be back to normal.

Please try the following steps and answer results.

  • Windows Media Center captures the pointer of the mouse on the 2nd monitor when WMC window is enlarged.

My mouse pointer is captured on the 2nd monitor when the windows media center window is maximized on this screen. I can return the mouse to the main screen when the window of the wmc is reduced.

    Hi ijeff:

One option is to move the Media Center window on the second monitor, and then expand the window to fill as much of the screen as possible by dragging an edge to the outside.  You can fill most of the screen that also and always use the mouse on each monitor.  The other option is to try pressing ALT + TAB to release the mouse in the Media Center window.  I think that worked in MCE2005, but currently I don't have a dual monitor set up to see if it still works.  Good luck!

If in a VC call key participants would be on the left monitor and discovered or presentation would be on right monitor

When upgraded to 6.1.1 changed the scenario above:

    • If not on a call the left monitor would display the wallpaper and the menus and the 2nd monitor only show black, discovered in PIP mode on monitor left (codec is set to dual display)
    • If in a VC call, key participants would be on the left monitor and presentation on the right monitor but the display of the self are in PIP on left monitor

  • Linksys wireless-g usb network adapter unable to detect the router using windows XP desktop PC

I've changed in broadband Orange yesterday and since then my adapter is unable to find the network (it was working fine with TalkTalk until I changed).

He managed to find a couple of other networks that are nearby but nothing else.

I have a laptop (windows 7) who finds the router Orange immediately. I tested the adapter with the laptop and it finds the router Orange plus about 10 other nearby networks.

I rang Orange who crossed their tests and not found any problems. I uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter on the windows XP desktop, but I get the same result.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Thanks for the reply.

I got it finally work last night after a day of cleaning up!

Even if the network does not have to be detected in the available wireless networks "choose" I tried the "New Connection Wizard" and entered all the details that came with the router. The adapter found the Orange router but nothing else in the region.

For now, it works but there is a problem somewhere, because I don't see any networks, I can see on my laptop.

    See you soon.

Hi, I recently brought a pro Onelink dock for my carbon X 1 so I can connect to my Acer XB270HU monitor when I'm at my desk. But when I try to connect using the Displayport on the platform I'm unable to connect and windows seem to be unabe to see Webs. I tried 3 different cables and the thing came. I am able to connect to the other monitors using DVI from the dock of Onelink simply not Displayport.

Well, I noticed there was a new drivers and firmware for the dock relesed recently so I thought I'd give this proplem another shot.

I can now confirm that with the v2.30.00 of v11015 and the firmware of the driver everything works perfectly.
