Win 8 beta, W7, VMplayer 4 host - no sound, no internet

Hello-

I have a W7 crowd well running; I use VMplayer 4, later. No problem to install systems don't like XP, Ubuntu, Mint.

Win 8 beta installs allright, but it would not recognize

(a) the sound card is not recognized by Win 8 beta - Mint has had also a few problems, but that could be overcome by a few trial and error...

(b) Internet through a router was not accessible - Win 8 beta software issues said: no hardware card found

So I can't activate Win beta 8 of Microsoft.

I installed 2 times - once as a user made, once by the recommended procedures.

Any ideas out there?

Install Windows 8 as "other" does not work: using Windows 7.

To correct the existing virtual computer add
ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000".

However, the internal host cannot access the internet through the ASA. I think I have my NAT watered somewhere. I can't even a host statically mapped to the internet. It might be because I'm used to having a WAN IP to the external interface which differs by the CIDR block assigned by the ISP. • Satellite A210-19 t: win 8 beta is a nightmare, but I can't go back to Vista.

    Hello

I could really do with some help.

I was part of the fools who decided to try Windows 8 a few months back to find that I can't seem to turn the tide and now my laptop is basically useless for me.

I can't seem to find a disk to reboot, but I'm not even sure I got one in the first place.

What I read online, Toshiba put everything on one partition and access you by pressing a shortcut when loading the machine upward.

I tried, but the wonderful new Windows 8 will not let me access, should it even be there in the first place.

I have a valid computer with a valid serial, etc. I want just the old BONES of return as soon as possible.

I put my paper in on the support page and that's what he said, I have:

    Satellite A210-19 t

    Part number: PSAFGE-03V011EN

    Main features

    -AMD Athlon X 2 Dual - Core TK-57 processor
-Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition
-Drive DVD Super Multi (Double Layer)
    -2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB
    -15.4 "WXGA TFT display 1 280 x 800

Please help me to get my laptop to its previous state.

    Thanks in advance.

    > From what I've read online, Toshiba put everything on one partition and access you by pressing a shortcut when loading the machine upward.
That of right, but you will have access to this partition with factory only. Problem is that after the clean version of the OS that you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.
    > I have a valid computer with a valid serial, etc. I want just the old BONES of return as soon as possible.
Correct, but this valid serial number belongs to the operating system that you got with your laptop. In operating manuals Toshiba s is described clearly how portable computer owner should create recovery DVDs and backup the original recovery image. Using this drive you can install recovery image whenever you want.

If you n t have it there are only two possibilities:
-to order a new one from https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx (it will not be free)
d ' install own OS (you cannot use the sticker series)

Sorry, but it's a bit complicated now.

  • Can double-click is no longer on a virtual computer after update to Win 8.1 (on the Mac host)

    Hello

We have VMWare Fusion Version 5.0.3 (1040386) running on a Mac Book Pro (Mountain Lion) with a Windows 8 VM, updated week last through the App Store to 8.1

We have this problem on all our machines:

1 open Windows Explorer, navigate to any 'virtual' folder (ie. a folder which is actually pointing to a folder on the Mac, for example My Documents).

    2. you can see everything, but you can't do anything with it. For example, double-click a file to open it and the application (for example, Notepad, Excel, whatever) does not start. The workaround, it is that you have to go to the physical folder on the Mac and open the file, then it will open the appropriate application of the virtual machine (and the file opens in the application). On VM Win8, it wasn't necessary, it has worked well for the virtual machine.

    3. you double-click any subfolder to open it either, you can never see the top level of the virtual machine.

It seems that the behaviour of 'double click' is broken.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

OK, the solution to this problem is not double click, but sharing folders. VMware tools needs to be completely ONE installed, restart the virtual machine, and then reinstall the VMware tools.

I also had to change the registry settings in Windows for VMWare tools first, because otherwise it could not be uninstalled.

The steps to edit the registry are in this thread, the Zypher response:

    https://communities.VMware.com/thread/460232

Changes to the registry, then select Virtual Machine in Fusion, the menu reinstall. This will cause the Tools CD-ROM mounted in the virtual machine (Windows 8.1 in my case). Ignore the guests that appear and instead, open Control Panel and choose to uninstall VMWare Tools. You must restart the virtual machine later. After the reboot, new Virtual Machine in Fusion menu goto and now select "install VMware Tools". You will need to logoff the VM at the end and reconnect again.

  • computer host cannot use the internet but the guest operating system can

Hello, I am using vmware workstation 10 and have implemented a windows virtual xp (I am running windows 7). I chose bridged to my connection and internet mode works very well within the xp, but when you try to use the internet on my host computer it does not work. He said that I have no internet access but if it works on my virtual machine, then what's wrong?

BTW I have configured in bridge to my wireless adapter if it makes a difference. also cannot use nat or host

    any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

Then maybe it's a problem with your WiFi router no longer allowing a connection when using bridged and if it is it is not a question of VMware itself.   What brand and model of router?

  • Disconnect Linux guests and Windows in Win7x64 host of sound

I use a Dell OptiPlex 790 integrated with audio.

Periodically a Windows prompt, or every time I try to use audio on Linux hosts, I get the "error opening audio device 0:  "A device ID has been used that is out of range of your system.  Sound will start disconnected. "

    (I don't have a control panel RealTek).

    On Win7x64 host:

I downloaded and installed the audio driver of Dell (Realtek, ATI?).

I disabled the ATI audio device high definition in the host and activated exclusive reading.  I also disabled the two microphones in sounds.

Who took care of the issue of Windows and my Win7x64 guest comments can now read the audio data without disconnecting.

However, the above has not set the same question on Linux.

Under Linux, I went my Gnome settings, under his and turned off the microphones, closed the window settings of her Gnome and re-connected the audio device to the default sound in the virtual machine host.  That will allow me to hear the chirp in Linux system.  However, whenever I try to open the application of Gnome sound settings, or to say an audio app like Audacity, sound disconnects with the original error.

There must be a solution out there.  Surely, after all these years people report these problems, some must have found an answer?

Finally found the answer to my problem.  I have uninstalled the Realtek software and disabled audio all output devices.  Then I restarted and connected via USB a SoundBlaster X - fi Go! Adapter audio pro.  The software is installed on my host, rebooted it, and then reset all the guests computer virtual for the audio device by default.  Now, all of my guests, so Windows or Unix play sounds.

  • WiFi intermittent problem. Win 10 think it is connected when there is no Internet.

WiFi intermittent problem.  I have a 2 month old Dell Inspiron 15 5559 with dual band Wireless AC 3160 adapter Intel.  I connect via WiFi, start Pandora with Chrome and everything works very well for a few hours.  I monitor the status of the WiFi and noticed that when the speedometer drops to simple numbers temporarily, then resumed at 50 Mbps or more a second or two later, my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge) no longer work even if icons indicate "connected, secure" and LAN activity continues.  Pandora and all other browser activities cease until I have disconnect and reconnect.  The router, I had this problem with that is a TP-Link wireless-N that works perfectly with other computers, but I purchased & installed a D604 of D-Link router wireless AC to see if this can solve the problem.  It has exactly the same problem on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.  Device Manager displays an Intel driver version 18.11.0.8 dated dated 22/06/2015 apparently normal and no! or? any where in the list of devices.

So the obvious conclusion is that when the power of the signal is temporarily less than 10 Mbps for a second or two, then returns to the top 10 Windows thinks there is a good WiFi connection when it is not.  Disconnect and reconnect always solve the problem, but it's an obvious bug, and it's a pain.

    Hello

I'm glad that you finally got this driver to install.  Microsoft has done a lot with Windows 10 trying to reduce the energy consumption on laptops.   In some ways, that has caused some problems with the wireless, making cards more susceptible to interference.   I hope that this driver will clear up many of the conflicts and problems that you see.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Network down frequently on a virtual machine after the upgrade of computers host and vmware to win 10

    Dear all,

A week ago, I upgraded both my two machines VMWare Win 7 to win 10, as well as the host operating system. also from 7 to 10.

Now once every 1 or 2 days, one or both the two vmwares aura an esclamation mark on the network status icon in the lower right corner and West no connection.

The host operating system is NOT having any problems with the network.

The solution is to disable and reactive the adapter to virtual machines, or repair of running Network Diagnostics where she'll tell me that it s has reinstated the connection to the bridge. But obviously I´d prefer the VM´s to be on the internet 24/7 without my intervention.

I have another computer on the same router on which I did the same thing, but with this I m not having these problems. A different and not connected equipment via the VPN running on the host OS, which is the case with the machine that s had questions.

But even once, the host operating system is not having issues, the two VM´s aren´t always the two to have this problem, and this never happened when he was all Win 7.

I ve disabled some nights windows defender analysis and TCP/IP V6, but neither helped.

Want to see some of the information from the last network diagnostics / repair or some log file, or you already know what would be the solution to my problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards

    Jazzl

Well, I thought that a vm was having this problem a lot more often than the other, so I looked for error messages in windows journal, showing that the network problem - have to with DHCP btw - always spent 2 minutes after an event regarding slui.exe, not found on the other machine.

What I also noticed was that the problematic vm had lost its activation of windows with the upgrade to win 10 (win 10 has limits to how much the same license can be run as virtual machines), is is not the case for the more successful one.

Then I copied the good machine, which contains the same as the other, changed mac and uuid and now it s showing that enabled, no problem so far.

    Hello

I use VmWare Player 6.0.2 build-1744117 on Linux Debian. I installed win 7 on it, and when I tried to install VmWare Tools I get this error: "a certificate error occurred for the update server. Check your Internet settings or contact your system administrator.  But I don't think it's my internet settings because the internet does not work in the virtual machine (win 7) as well as my host OS. I also don't use proxy.

How can I solve this problem? I really want to install VmWare Tools. Please help me to fix it.

I enclose the screenshots with the error and my internet settings.

To work around the problem, you can use the instructions of Re: Vmplayer tools error when using tools VMware files located here.

  • T61 with Win 7 RTM will not sleep on the current, will sleep on battery

You wanted to start a new thread on this since the similar to the previous thread presents the beta version of Windows 7 and other issues while I and at least one other people have this same problem with Win 7 RTM.

My T61 (8891-CTO) won't go to sleep / suspend when it is plugged into the current running Win 7 RTM and the current drivers Win 7 Beta.   It will be put into hibernation on current alternative.  He'll sleep / suspend very well when it's on battery.

When the current alternative, the display dims when I try to sleep, but it will never actually suspend.   Move the rear mouse lights up the screen and gives the Windows login screen.

Like everything else works very well and sleep works on battery but not AC, I have to assume that it is a driver problem.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you

    Michael

I realized what was causing the problem on my system, so maybe this will help someone else.

The Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service prevented my T61 to sleep.  I stopped and disabled this service.  Sleep works fine now.

  • Win 7 Pro 64 install, after good connection install & internet Microsoft Update hangs forever

A failed hdd on HP 6515 b required new hdd & install Win 7 Pro 64. After the proper installation & connection internet Microsoft Update hangs forever. Otherwise the computer works fine. We need .net updated for special application.

Unfortunately, this happens to a lot of people lately.

    Windows Update problem (new)

The following procedure applies in the case of installation (reinstall) Windows 7.  It does not apply to a usual, normal day.

I'm afraid that you will do the reinstall again.  Not a terrible penalty to pay.  Usually takes less than an hour.  Then immediately proceed to the next procedure.   It's strange, but it really does work and many people have proved it.

NEVER install anything other than Windows updates until your system is up-to-date.  Once you have the list update, install all together.  Installation of updates in batches is not expedite the process or do better.

    1. Before you begin to re - install, download (32 or 64 bit) KB3083710 and KB3102810 in advance and store on a USB
    2. Start and end the re - install Windows 7 SP1
    3. Before that the newly installed system can go online for the first time, Disconnect the computer from the Internet.  This chronology is essential.
    4. Install KB3083710 and reboot manually.
    5. Install KB3102810 and reboot manually.
    6. Restore the Internet connection, and run Windows Update as usual.
    7. After a few minutes, you should have a lot of updates to download and install.

    Thanks to Ken Morely

Note: When you search for the 64-bit version of these KB specify 64-bit.  The 32-bit versions do not say what version they are.

  • Win 7 drivers for T400?

I'll get my T400-2764 soon. I didn't order it with an upgrade of Windows 7 since I already have a unused genuine Win 7 Professional - 64-bit disc in which I provided by my school.

Now, I was wondering the default comes with Vista - 32 bit. If I do a clean install of Win 7 I had, I should wait no driver problem? I noticed on the Lenovo support page that the drivers for Win 7 are not so numerous. I have read the forums where people were be troubled with wifi and graphics ATI Mobility Radeon 3470, but that was in the Win 7 - Beta.

I lose all Lenovo included software if I do a new install of Win 7? I don't know what they all are called, Thinkpad Vantage or Thinkpad Recovery or something like that. Download this software somewhere on the Lenovo support page because I do a clean install?

I'm new on Win 7, but I'm really excited about it since my laptop comes with a 128 GB SSD and Win 7 is supposed to use the qualities of the SSD better than Vista or XP. Are there problems I need to keep in mind with the installation of a new operating system on a SSD? I remember someone telling me to reformat the hard drive before cleaning install.

If anyone can share some information or his experience on this subject, it would be well appreciated.

You must wait until the operating system Windows 7 is officially released, through which Lenovo should have released its full working drivers. If you install now, many drivers are still in the final beta version and some are missing, which causes a lot of headaches. Another one month or more, which is not a great amount of time, how long it takes to put up with the Vista.

  • As a sort of gateway using Win 8-PC

    Hello

Since yesterday; I had a pc xp with two DFU as one, say that gateway.
A Port goes to a switch of 100 MB and on the router in the internet.
The other port was connected to a Go-Swiitch, where the rest of my network is connected
(5 to 10 pcs, NAS, and some printers).

Today, I switched the pc and now there is a system win 8.
On this pc, I can access the internet on the fisrt port and I can reach the NAS on the other port.
The two ports work and have the same IP addresses as the old system.
192.178.2.x for the network at the router.
    internal 192.178.0.y for the network.
    255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask.
    191.178.2.1 as passerelle_par_defaut.
The switches were rebootet to accumulate in new arp tables.

    Real problems:
    (a) the other PC don't see a new.
    (b) not possible to ping from this system.
    (c) status reports private network network to the router and the unidentified network network for my network internal with some printers and some win 7 - pcs. Normally, I would expect a private 192.178.0.x and unidentified network (public) on 192.178.2.x.
For your information: I've changed the two ports. And I did a reboot of the pc and switches,
but the assignment public and unidentified remains.
    (d) then aim: I want to share the internetpossibility of the new pc for all others in my internal network.

You have a few ideas, some advice?
I don't want to reuse the old xp system.

    Sincerely
    Piet
