  • Reinstall Windows 7 on hard drive again with only the Win 7 Upgrade disc?

So I have an e9180t which, like clockwork, freezes after about an hour or two after the boot.  I thought it might be the curse of bad mothers, with what they came, but I hope that it is something else so test everything I can.  I noticed that it does not freeze upwards when it is started in safe mode with network.  The hard drive failed the test SMART so I wonder if it's time to replace it as if that has anything to do with the crash.   I can move the cursor, but no applications will be open and eventually everything becomes insensitive causing be tohit the power button to restart.   I already stopped unnecessary startup programs and it will still freeze in unsafe mode.

The PC came with Vista and I think it's what's on backup hard disk partition.  I have the disk Win 7 Upgrade from HP.  My questons are-

    1. If I buy a new HD 7 upgrade disc will be enough to install the full version of Win 7?

    2. anything else I should do when I install the new HD and more to reactivate Windows?

    Thank you.

    Hi Mike,.

Have you created a HP recovery disk to reinstall the factory image when replacing the HARD drive?

It sounds like you have maybe a problem creating the recovery discs now.

A Smart HARD drive test failure points to a HDD failure. The symptoms you are experiencing are likely caused by this fact. You can also have a card mother or any other hardware problem.

You have the key to drive and Win 7 Upgrade product.

I'm pretty sure that the upgrade to Windows 7 to be launched from Win Vista. The upgrade of Windows 7 is a full installation of Windows, so this isn't the problem. But he can't run the installation unless you start the upgrade in Win Vista. Normally, an upgrade to Windows 7 is launched within the current operating system, Win 7 valid existence of an eligible OS Setup and then request a restart to complete the installation of upgrade.

You can replace the HARD drive and try to install Win 7 itself. If this fails and you do not have the Vista recovery discs, you can buy an HP recovery disc set here. There are three different versions. Select one that corresponds to the operating system that is installed at the factory.

You may have another problem to replace the HDD with a Format HDD advanced most recent. Please see thisHP Supportdocument for more information.

If you cannot install the upgrade Windows 7 itself or Win Vista because of the issue of the Advanced Format HARD drive, you may need to purchase a copy of Windows 7 OEM.

  • Can I use my Win 7 Upgrade disk to do a clean install on my desktop that my old laptop has now been destroyed. ?

Ok.. I bought a laptop with Vista pre installed Sony.

Then, I bought a copy of Win 7 Upgrade to upgrade, I did.
Shortly after, my laptop broke and I got a new laptop through my insurance company which had Win 7 pre installed. I just got a new desktop PC and was wondering if I could use my Win 7 Upgrade disk to do a clean install on my desktop that my old laptop has now been destroyed. ?

As long as the original computer disappeared, I think you can use the upgrade on another computer...

  • Win 8 upgrade and Express Gate

How this will be achieved with ASUS Express Gate.  I have an ASUS Eee PC 1005 HA Win 8.  In this implementation, Express Gate is autonomous and does not seem to create it's own partition.  He did install Dual Boot.

Yes, Express Gate will need to be reinstalled.  Yes, it will be set up (or try) Dual Boot.

Please note that assessment 8 WIN makes no mention of Express Gate.  It is perhaps a good sign.

The upgrade from WIN 8 will tolerate this.  Even XP is not fast on this little guy so express gate allows quick searches on the internet.  That, the Excel and Word viewers is all about the this bug is needed to.

The other candidate to win 8 upgrade (Vista) uses a different version of the Express Gate.  In this case, it is evoked through the BIOS switch and the main program is simply Program Files. It should work very probably.

While we are at it.  After execution of the evaluator, will be the low loader know that the 1005HA is 32-Bit device?

Linux start-up ExpressGate does not seem to occur after an upgrade for an ASUS 1015PEM from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 10 via the upgrade from Ms.

    Hello

For me, it looks like there are some problems with the credit card.
Who knows what makes you wrong maybe that you have entered the right number or missed something maybe, there is another problem with your credit card
In my opinion, you should get in touch with your Bank and should ask what could be the problem

Here are the other Toshiba page where you could ask a support team for assistance if a problem with Win 7 upgrade kit would appear.

  • Win anytime upgrade Windows 7 home prem 64 bit to Ulitmate - unrecognized failure + prod key.

I have a fairly new laptop np700g7c from Samsung that came with OEM Win 7 Home Premium.  I discovered that too late that this version of Win 7 does not allow backup to NAS - just will not see my SIN.  Apparently this only possible with Win 7 Ultimate (I got on my last computer so no problem) or professional.
To help to win anywhere, anytime upgrade on computer, I checked if I could upgrade my 64 bit Win 7 Home premium to Ultimate and am OK for Ultimate or professor.  I downloaded the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor tool, and the report said I could upgrade to Win 7 Prof or Ultimate.
The use of Win Anytime upgrade I paid £127,07 GBP for the upgrade to Win 7 Home Prem to ultimate and received the Upgrade button and it printed properly.
Clicked to level and product key is automatically applied.  Soon, she returned this upgrade has failed.  Suggested try again.  When I tried again my product key was not recognized, so installation would not start.
I paid my money and can get nowhere.  I feel also "had" that I can't use backup for my SIN in the first place, but I gritted my teeth and paid my money but now have lost money AND cannot be upgraded and am in a complete mess.

  • Problems of 64-bit Vista Home Premium, Ultimate upgrade

I recently bought a laptop HP Pavilion dv4-1144us with 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium (with SP1) pre-installed electronics Fry as well as a copy of the upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (with SP1) because I need to the ability to connect to a domain when using the laptop at work.  After installing Office 2007 Standard and by ensuring that the new Windows Vista laptop basically work, I tried to run the installation from the Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Upgrade disk and found that, after an hour or two of an upgrade treat it to race end in a non-descript "cannot upgrade one or more components.  Error Windows will restart and cancel the upgrade. ", after which he ends by turn to Vista Home Premium.

After doing a little research online (on TechArena) and I have re-tried the upgrade again after:

In Control Panel-> programs and features:

    -Deactivation of Microsoft.NET Framework 3.0

    -Disable remote differential Compression

-Deactivation of the replication DFS Windows Service

Disable Norton Virus and Internet Security software pre-installed

Disable the Windows Firewall and defender.

    Uninstalling Quicktime and AIM.

Disconnect all other devices to a USB mouse.

However when "Compatibility Check" of the upgrade at the beginning, he warn a problem with a filter 'keyboard '.

(no further details) which I think can refer to the HP software that implement quick launch the laptop keys.

So I downloaded and installed the latest version of the HP Quick Launch Button drivers on the HP Support page:

    ' HP Quick Launch buttons Date: 08/2008 Version: 6.40.8.2 H size: 20.97 M

and I tried again, but still without success.

Note: I can not run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor, as recommended because it does not work on Vista 64 bit.

However, there are standard HP and Microsoft Vista + Office + MessengerLive software installed only at this stage.

Are there additional clues on what to try next?  Has anyone experience this problem?

    -Greg

You can try to uninstall the filter on the keyboard until the upgrade is complete...  In Device Manager, go to 'View' and select 'show hidden devices and then go down to "Non-Plug and Play drivers" and made a right click on the keyboard/HID filter drivers and uninstall (remove also the softare upon request).

    Hello

The best way is to clean install and start over.

In addition, it is not legal to have both installed version that the license is for a single installation.

If it is a dual boot with 32 bit and 64 bit installed on different partitions, there would not have been the conflicts you would have never started in one or the other.

I can not connect to internet on my laptop Toshiba running Vista Home Basic.  My computer detects the wireless router and I tried the wired connection with no result.  When I run the repair of the network it is said that the diagnostic policy service is not running.  I tried the advice from microsoft to launch without success.  I am interested in upgrading to windows 7.  I need to fix this problem in vista first, or an upgrade to Windows 7 will solve the problem?

    Hi Francis,.
sounds like a driver for most problem, and I would recommend a restore to solve this issue of diagnosis.
However, to answer your question, the upgrade should not severe at all as long as you get the right drivers.

I have a laptop double boot configured with Vista Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional.

I bought Vista Ultimate professional to upgrade the installed Vista. The 'Upgrade' feature is disabled in my professional (full) Vista Ultimate package. Why?

Update requires the same Service Pack level.  For example, if your current Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 or SP2 installed, you will need to uninstall the Service Pack to be able to use the Windows Vista Ultimate Edition disc, you have that has no Service Pack integrated.

  • I bought 7 retail to upgrade to Vista and have since upgraded to 10. The product key is coming as invalid

I have an old laptop that I am trying to set up for my daughter. It had XP on it and I have a physical disc of Windows 7 I have installed on it. I bought 7 retail to upgrade to Vista and have since upgraded to 10. The product key is coming as invalid. I thought that I could use it again since I upgraded from 7 to 10. Is the product key invalid, because I already used it once even if I'm not on 7? Can I buy just a key somewhere or I have to buy a new copy of 7 again? It installed fine that I just can't turn it on. Thank you.

    OT:

    Windows 7 product key

Because the free update of Windows 10 used the license to the retail of Windows 7 as an eligible basic license, you cannot transfer it elsewhere or you reuse.

You will need to purchase a new license of Windows 7 or buy a license for version full Windows 10.

My recommendation to waive the license of Windows 7, I would buy a full version license Windows 10.

Once you do this, you can just update the values of product key for your system runs Windows 10, and then reactivate the license of Windows 7 by phone.

    Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition

    then

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
