  I am running Linux on a workstation Z240. I want to use the Windows supplied with this workstation license to run Windows 7 on a virtual machine inside my host Linux OS. I read there may be a digital product key in the BIOS, but I searched the menus without finding.

  I do not speak for Microsoft. However, I saw many times when working with clients in your situation with regard to the reactivation of windows because of the failure of a component. They are not, however, responsible for providing you with a windows disc that should be provided by your computer manufacturer. However, if I were you, I would ask to borrow a disc of windows of a friend or a neighbour then contact Microsoft for activation, making sure to explain the circumstances surrounding the re-setup.

• Activation product key for Windows 7 Professional 64 bit problems

  I've had this computer for a while. Several years ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would like to install windows 7 Professional at half price because he pre-ordered 2 copies at half price. I was running Vista and bought from him. I have never had any problems with the product code, through 3 motherboards, (HP hurts many mothers), and have a computer repair store to install a new hard drive by using the same product activation code. I reinstalled Windows 7 pro 64 bits once before experiencing a lot of problems and so about 10 days ago. I have not had any problems until yesterday when I had a messaqge saying that my product key has not been accepted. I have no time to this address until today and I keep re - enter the product key and get the error Code 0xC004C008 message that says that my product key is not valid. Until that time, Windows update has installed more than 100 updates without problem. What can I do? I bought this in good faith and the product key worked before, whenever it was necessary.

• Activation product key for windows 7 is blocked.

  I uninstalled windows 7 to install an evaluation version of windows 8. The 90 days are up and copy Windows 8 has expired. I reinstalled the copy of windows 7 that I had on my computer before installing windows 8.   I went online to validate windows 7 and I got a message that the product key has been blocked. I went online on the microsoft Web site to buy a new product key by following the instructions and it says that my copy of windows 7 is real and it's authentic I offer a free download of windows security essantials. I downloaded the sp1 checks if the key was for windows 7 with sp1 and still wouldn't turn on. I called the automated phone number and got no help. Y at - there sonething I forgot to do? I have not change or add to my computer.
