Hello Zohar545zo,

Thank you for your message.  Also, can you confirm that your operating system has been activated after reinstalling?  You may need to perform a phone activation.

1. Click Start, and then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
2. press enter on your keyboard
3. Select your country.
4. Select the option to activate the phone, then call and hold to a real person.

Please let us know, we are looking forward to hear back on your part.

  • Windows Update cannot check updates after a reconstruction

original title: Windows Update not running after a Rebuild

After a hard drive crash (after my laptop was abandoned during the race), I have restored from a backup on a new hard disk image. I'm trying to get back to the current when the image has been created, but Windows Update will not work. I get the ' Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. " You may have to restart your computer. "box popup that many people in this forum have reported.

According to these articles, I did the following:

-Scanned for viruses, malware and rootkits

-Run the FixIt found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

    -Run SFC/scannow

No viruses, malware or rootkits were found.

The FixIt said repairing the Windows Update components, but the problem persists and the FixIt claims the same thing if I run it again.

SFC/scannow claims to have found things, that he could not fix, but they seem to be independent. Search the log file for the word "CAN" as "can not fix" rolled up twelve instances of files that could not be repaired, even if it was only the same three files listed four times each.

    Step 3:

Temporarily disable the security software and try to install the updates of Windows.

    Disable the antivirus software.

  • Impossible to update after reinstalling Windows 7

I have a computer Dell XPS 8300. When I bought the computer I bought a reinstall of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit DVD with key code. I upgraded the computer to Windows 10, but repeated difficulties experienced with the installation of the updates. The last update, I have installed produces a blank screen on the computer. I decided to replace the two hard drives in this computer with the 1 TB SSD.   I replaced the drive and reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything except the Windows Update works fine. I'm unable to update this computer.  When I click on update Windows I get update with scrolling green picture screen in the toolbar icons, but nothing happens.  I'm not worried reinstalling Windows 10, given the problems that I had.  Dell says that this computer has not been tested for compatibility with Windows 10.

I was surprised that Windows 7 has made request not to be activated after installation.  I right click the Start button in Windows and selected properties, but there was no indication that I need activate this version of Windows 7.  I have the key code and I did not change the motherboard. I don't understand why the Windows Update program does not work, or what I can do to solve the problem. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I was unable to activate Windows 7.  I tried the Windows 7 update problems difficulty in the Windows Control Panel without success. Someone at - it solutions to this problem? Thank you for your help.

  • Windows updates after reinstall...

I had to reinstall Windows 7 and now is wanting to download 132 updates of Windows. I think that some updates caused problems initially, then how do I know which I should or should not install?

    Hello

If you have problems with Windows updates, it's trial and error refers to the 'problem' those.

    This should help you:

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You only get the latest drivers for them on the site of the manufacturer of the computer or piece of hardware, as Microsoft does normally or those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install one at a time, until you find the 'problem' for your configuration.

If you're still worried about that, you can try to install the 'x' number of updates at the same time reduce the chances of having to find a 'problem' update...

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.
