Windows 7. Diagnostic policy service does not start.

Hello

No Internet.

Error 5 access denied.

Need help ASAP please. .

Hi Noel,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Let me ask you;

  • You receive an error message?
  • What is the task that you try to start the DPS?

From now on, I would suggest trying the following steps and check.

Go to Start > search and type in cmd > click right on returned cmd.exe and select 'run as administrator' (click Yes to UAC prompt)

Type the following commands one by one and press enter

net localgroup administrators / add networkservice

net localgroup administrators / add localservice

Exit command prompt by typing exit and pressed enter or simply X out.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

After clicking, we are shown that the error is that the diagnostic policy Service is not running (basically going in a circle), error 5. Everything else on the computer works fine, as far as we know.

The night before it was passed, we found a little unbalanced PC Tower and we believe that our cat got on the computer table because the documents were scattered. It is possible that the Tower topple made something come loose which prevents the DPS of the race?

We tried several system restores that have failed.

I tried all these things and I ended up fix:

net localgroup administrators / add networkservice

  • Windows xp Task Scheduler service does not start

I have a problem with the Task Scheduler in XP SP3 (home edition) service. The service is configured to start automatically, but hangs during startup and the State is 'starting' permanently In this State, I can't start or stop the service manually.  If I disabled the service completely, restart, put it to manual and click Start, I get the following error:

Unable to start the task on the local computer Scheduler service
Error 1053: The service did not demand launch or control in a timely

I am under an administrator with a password account, so that shouldn't be the problem
The CPP and the services event log work correctly (Autostart value)

    I need to get this service running in order to allow the read-ahead on this pc. Currently the prefetch folder is totally empty the .ini file is missing as well as all the .pf files. I tried to rebuild the .ini with the help of the > rundll32.exe advapi32.dll, ProcessIdleTasks< command="" at="" the="" command="" prompt="" but="" this="" doesn't="" do="" anything,="" probably="" because="" of="" the="" lack="" of="" the="" scheduler="" service.="" in="" the="" registry,="" enable="" prefetcher="" is="" set="" to="" 3,="" monitoring="" both="" applications="" and="">

Scheduler tasks and prefetch worked very well - I think that a setting in the registry is damaged or missing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

It's curious.  The ST journal file must be in the Windows folder.

I downloaded a copy of the file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311
When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

You have to put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

I don't know where to put the file mstask.ini - windows\system32 maybe?  There is no .ini file in the folder inf. so I don't know and you may need to try different places and keep reading...

I don't think I've never reinstalled TS (but other things) so I did all the instructions on how to do it, but if the installation stops and asks you for a file, at this point, leave the installation 'wait' and then search your HARD drive for the file he wants to (be sure to include the search for hidden and system files too) and if/when you find return to the installation of waiting and fill the void or navigate to the folder where the installation file is enough (point installation where the file is, so it can find the file he wants to) and continue up to the next point.  You may need to do it for multiple files until you get all the way through it and you will see that some are just not on your HARD drive and you need to download.  You can't cancel the installation and start over every time - just work through a single file at a time by pointing the installation to the folder where the file he needs.

Maybe later, I reinstall my TS service to practice and be able to understand the files he needs and give some better advice about this.

Comodo may also interfere (I do not use it, but it's possible).  Did you see if your TS will start with disabled Comodo?

You should also consider the malware, then you might want to start with this:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
  • Windows 7 64 bit - Diagnostic Policy Service won't start - error 5 access is denied

    Hello

I am getting the Diagnostic Policy Service error 5 access denied. I can't start the service no matter what I do. I did all of the following without success and need urgent advice as gone through a lot of forums without success.

    (1) used the subinacl tool to reset my security clearance on all the registry files grant complete access to administrators and system without success

    (2) have started my pc using MSCONFIG in a configuration minimum diabling all non-microsoft services, and it did not solve my problem.

    (3) I tried to add/remove a feature of Windows like Windows Media Player and when the shuttdown system displays a msg saying that Windows could not configure your system so that the new setting, windows will revert to the previous state. and the media player is always on display.

The fact that the Diagnostic Policy Service does not stop me using my Dial-up connection using a wireless modem using the PC card, it gives me Error 797 Port is not available. My dial-up show property of connection in the general tab, under connect using this says: device Unailable deleted (). So I have no internet on PC card, even if the device is detected by Windows and I see it as Iburst Terminal.

I also have a problem, when I click on the phone and Modem in Control Panel, I get following error: phone and Modem Control Panel can not be opened. You can have a problem starting Telephony Service.

I checked the Telephony Service it is configured to automatically and it is started. (I tried stop/Start) but doesn't solve is not my problem.

Any help on this is much appreciated.

    Dear I.  Suuresh Kumar,

Your silence to my post 2 has left me no choice to do a repair of Windows 7 upgrade. For the people who run the same problem, I found that it was the only alternative because none of Microsoft could give me an answer. I found a post that explains how to make a repair upgrade, which, for me, took place between 13:30 and completely finished and successuflly at 20:00.

What it does, it re - install a clean version of Windows and keeps all your programs/settings/drivers/connections etc... intact. It was my solution. My system is now clean and without any problem. TKS at the following link.

    Hello!

As you can guess Windows Update is not installed for a few months. Cryptographic services does not start . CPP is the beginning.

    Error: 80070426

sfc/scannow couldn't fix some corrupted files.

Computer HP laptop came with Vista pre-installed, so I do not have the repair disk.

No doubt the system restore won't help, as I remember recently that c-Cleaner wiped the old restore points.

NOD32 Antivirus + Spyware Doctor still running. Already run MSRT and Super Spyware, but nothing much.

    Kindly help!

Finally, I worked it out myself. But it's painful to watch than virtually any other that Uday has responded to my problem. Something I've been waiting for so eagerly.

I applied my common sense and defragmented the dirives then sfc/scannow, and it worked. Cryptographic Services said when I began to log in as network account. So my problem is solved. Now, windows update works fine.

Interestingly, Microsoft Fix it, says it cannot start the Cryptographic Services. Are God, while the _____ you supposed to difficulty? It made Internet Explorer icon on my desktop and other places.

  • WebSigner Service does not start, Windows 7

    Hey Experts,.

I'm trying to follow the guide on the protection of the PerstentObjects using ControlledAccess.

I HAV created and imported one. Record MAIN in my project and chosen the class to be protected.

Now, my problem arises when I try to sign the Bill. Sign Tool told me that my custom key is not registered.

How can I register it? Do I need a. File CSI to do this and if so, how to generate it? Thank you.

UPDATE: I just realized than that one possible reason is that the WebSigner service does not start. When I look in servcies.msc it just gets stuck at the start.

Any ideas on how to start? Thank you.

You can manually create and install your keys using the administration tool. The webservice is only if you can connect using the signature tool. WebService not auto start on windows 7 because it does not interactive services. There is a setting that you can change for this purpose and there a small dialog box will appear asking to connect to start the service whenever you start. Just google for interactive services on windows 7.

  • Windows Firewall service does not start after the removal of Virus

    Hello

I believe that my son's computer has been infected with the Trojan.Agent.Ed virus.  I managed to remove it (from different folders in AppData), but a few vestiges remain of course.  The windows firewall service does not start - it throws an exception to access denied on startup and when I try to start the service manually.
I tried to run the Sysinternals Process Monitor to display all events ACCESS DENIED and checked the permissions on the key to registry MpsSvc in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services and compared to a corresponding Windows 7 machine.  I've even exported the key MpsSvc and sous-branches of the laptop in good health and tried to import into a failure, but the import does not seem to occur, even if it gives a message "imported".
I also tried the troubleshooting of Windows Firewall that confusedly says:
"Windows could not start the Windows Firewall... Not fixed
"Set permissions for the registry keys involved"... succeeded
"Windows Firewall service is not started. Not fixed
    "Starting the Firewall Service"... succeeded
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

It seems that I solved the problem by running this:

that I found in a post on this thread:
  • Error 1079 / base OS Windows 8 / Bluetooth service does not start

Error 1079 / base OS Windows 8 / Bluetooth service does not start - I tried service.msc-> selecting Bluetooth support Service-> properties-> log on-> This account-(Administrator) / (NT AUTHORITY\LocalService) / / but nothing works, I had searched a lot on this problem but there is no solution to the problem of basic windows 8 (built in) only for win 7 and windows server... .but not for the basic version of windows 8 that I have...

Now when I click to start the Bluetooth support service it always says error 1079...

    Hello

Please, try the steps here to solve this problem:

    http://www.kapilarya.com/services-failed-to-start-in-Windows-8-1

Hotfix applies to Windows 8 too and you must only put NT AUTHORITY\LocalService on the properties of the service.

Hope this helps, good luck :)
