Windows 7 installed by TechVedic - not true.
I had a customer with me who got the message "not geniune" today on his windows 7 Professional.
This was supplied and installed by TechVedic as a copy is authentic. I asked to provide the certificate of authenticity and they accessed remote machine customers and installed two activators that are certainly not part of the microsoft package.
How can I report to microsoft, or the authorities. This customer has lost over 300 books on Windows and Office and TechVedic must close.

I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit for system integrators that I purchased from newegg. It has been installed since April / May and worked fine until now. I've tried some other solutions to this problem, and none of them seemed to work for me. Here are the diagnostic information.

ProBook 4740S comes with Windows 8 install disc or not?
Hello
I bought my dad a HP Probook 4740 S nearly 2 years ago. I remember when I bought, the description says that Windows 8 but only Windows 7 preinstalled. Now, I would like to upgrade to win 8 but can not find the disc.
I googled a bit, but unfortunately all resources referring to a Windows 8 media disc which I can't find.
I find that a blue sticker says windows 8 at the back of the laptop, which let me think it may come with the right to move to 8 for free...
Please let me know if there is a way to recover the product key / free upgrade to 8 with this laptop.
Thank you very much
Jason
You are the very welcome, Jason.
Normally, it's on a white sticker on the bottom of the laptop.
Remove the battery and look under there too.
If you don't, then it will appear in the system information window in the BIOS.

How can I get the product key
Phillip
You have to buy a new copy of Windows 7 to get a product key, but a new key may not be necessary.
I suggest that you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool in normal mode (not safe mode) and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:
http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012
Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

the Windows 7 usb Installer may not work on the usb port 3
Windows 7 install usb does not work on the usb port 3 with 32 GB usb 3 keys, says he needs a cd/dvd driver?
but there is no cd drive in this machine.Works very well with an old USB 2 on usb 2 & usb ports 3 in the same machine. But no usb 3 key into a usb port 3?any ideas? Thanks anyway JW stuart.
I managed to find a way to do it, I needed to set the usb drivers 3 unzipped on a 2nd USB on usb port 2 to use when the Setup program has been started and lost the USB 3.the ol F6 trick always works with win 7 and is more flexible, now that it allows pilots more than just raid. -
* Original title: product key
Hello guys, I installed Windows which was not original and now it's not true, I do not know the product key and I want to activate how?
If the edition installed does not match the edition, you have a product key because it will not activate.
If you have a product key for the specific edition installed, try the phone activation:
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

You must change the product key to the one on your COA.Click Start, type slui 3, press on enter.Additional information:
Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:
OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)
COA SLP: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

I got a report that my drive was in imminent danger of failure. Bought and made a direct disc-copy of the old disk cloning. Everything seems to work fine, but now I'm getting the pop up that says Windows is "not true." Windows shows as active, and nothing I've tried will stop the pop-up. Worse, Windows Update does NOT work, and without running a few updates, I'm dead in the water for the use of new devices.
I ran MGADiag. Here is that content. Any help is greatly apprectiated!

Windows 10. installed iTunes version 12.4.0.119. I have several iTunes libraries. On most of them display-> ' display as ' does not show the grid option. A library of fact. It's all music, with no video media. By default seems to be a list that is unchangeable.
Select the sidebar if hidden. View options > view as may depend on which of the options for the song, artist, album, etc. are selected in the sidebar.

Firefox 3.6.6 came out on 26/06/2010 to solve problems that some were plagued with the new crash protection feature introduced in Firefox 3.6.4. NOTE: Version 3.6.5 has been used for another product, so there is a "jump" in the version numbers.
You need to update to the latest version, Firefox 3.6.6.

Windows 10, Version 1511 is not properly installed on iMac
I installed Windows 10 Home on my iMac Retina 4K , OS El Capitan 10.11.3, using the BootCamp Assistant and a Windows 10 ISO just downloaded from the Microsoft site to my iMac hard drive. The system (Windows 10) was installed apparently without problems and seemed to function properly, including the wireless connections. During the installation, I saw that the Windows version installed was that of July 2015. I then restarted the computer and it automatically started installing the November Update (version 1511 of Windows 10). At the end of the process, the screen showed the following warning (I´m paraphrasing from memory): "AUTOMATIC REPAIR" "Windows did not install correctly" "Restoring the system may restore your computer to a point earlier in time, when it was working properly..." I restored it to the only restore point available (the one before I updated to the 1511 version). After it finished, the following message was shown on the screen: "Automatic Repair was not able to repair your PC. Click on "Advanced Options" to try other options" None of the options repaired the computer. The wireless controllers had disappeared. I contacted Apple Care (I have the three year extended warranty option) and they said they could not help me because this is a Microsoft Windows problem and I then contacted Microsoft support and they said they could not help me because Microsoft does not support Windows installed on Mac computers. Can anybody help me? Thank you!You want your post moved to the forum of Boot Camp, is where the people of MS Windows and Boot Camp hang out. Most of the people on this forum do not use Windows. You can have someone answers, but your chances are better using the right forum.

Windows Vista install the new WD hard drive empty - does not not :(
It was my original question: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/HP-Pavillion-a6645f-No-hard-drive-detected-BIOHD-2-err...
And now...
I got my CD of HP recovery and ordered a new WD 500 GB HDD... same features as the seagate who pooped me and I can't get windows install on the new HD
No matter what I do, computer wants to open the Recovery Manager and according to the available procedure does not work. It works me in circles asking for #1 drive, then the drive recovery supplement and back with no progress.
What I have to do is use this form: http://vistahomepremium.windowsreinstall.com/installnewhdd/installnewhdd.htm but only the Recovery manager opens when I boot from the CD.
Anyone have any ideas?
If I followed your questions correctly... you had a BIOHD-2 error, ordered HP recovery discs, replaced the hard drive and tried to restore your system with no luck. Is that a correct assessment of the situation?
OK, you need to make a Windows Vista install screen... not who's going to go with your HP recovery CD/DVD. The disks do not contain the Windows installation routine, only the HP Recovery Manager. These discs contain more or less, an image of the HP installed OS and software, plus some drivers and applications. To the best of my knowledge, you should have three DVDs (1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3/3) more an additional drive. You should boot from CD 1 of 3... Then, when asked to insert the 2/3... Then, when asked to insert 3/3. And finally if/when necessary additional drive.
At HP; Recover the system after the hard drive is replaced (Windows Vista)
