• All programs are now trying to open with WORD.

  Model HP laptop G56. Windows 7-64 bit. After inadvertently pressing the WORD by trying to open the Cubase 5 music program (after asking what program I want to open Cubase with) all the program on the desktop icons now appear as the letter W and the computer tries to not open in WORD now, which is impossible so no open programs. How I can fix this and restore the situation so that each program, i.e., Cubase, Excel and all the rest opens just in its own right? I tried to remedy this by the OPEN WITH menu, but it shows just a few programs and no way to repair my error.

  If it has not been produced for a long time, I just use the system restore utility and choose a restore point for awhile before you tried to open the program with Word.

  You can try the following and link methods under each method for more information on the same and see if one of them solve the problem.

  Method 1: Start the computer in last good known Configuration

   

  1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

  Click the button start , click the arrow next to the button lock , then click on restart.

  1. Do one of the following:

  ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

  ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.

  1. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select last good known Configuration and press ENTER.
  2. If your computer has multiple operating systems installed, use the arrow keys to select the operating system that you want to start using the last good known Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows will then resume starting normally.

  Method 2: Start your computer in Mode safe

  4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

  When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

  Are you saying that you want to Remove your projects?

  Until you do this, consider saving them to a flash drive or download them with the Share button. If you click on the "customize and print" box, you will be able to print your new project or change it later. (See image below).

• Problem re-installing VISTA after the removal of Windows 8 Preview Release, all I get is a black screen with a message "Not found operating system"

  I recently tried Win 8 on my VAIO laptop spare parts on which I ran Vista, after having previously deleted all the files and documents (I don't use often the laptop). Having concluded that Win8 will really work correctly with a touch screen (and the display size was bad as well), I uninstalled WIN 8, understand that I have to re - install Vista from my rescue disks. This I tried successfully a few months previously to make a clean reinstall. However, after removing 8 WIN via the Control Panel, I can't re - install Vista now. All I get is a black screen with a message "The operating system not found" and the rescue disks do not register. What can I do? I like Vista (although I now run Win 7 on my PC) and really want to put it back. Grateful for the advice.

  Well I finally fixed it by tweaking the BOOT BIOS settings and find something along the lines of VAIO Setup. I'm afraid, I just don't remember exactly what I did, but suddenly I found and ran 'VAIO Hardware Diagnostics' gave me a heart when it announced "no error was detected on the Vaio. Then I saw there was an entry for 'VAIO Recovery Utility - Recovery Wizard' and everything started to load. Since the 2 recovery discs I had. Finally, I ran MS Office and Small Business CD-ROM and now everything is back the way that it used to be. Here I had taken more note of how I got to the well Recovery Wizard. I hope that I never have to do it again!

  Apps are not present anywhere in the system. Cleaning tool could not find them.

  But I've been sorted. I had carbon copy clone support my computer plugged USB hardrive. When I disassembled old applications gone too drive.

  Hi all, I noticed that some applications still require a serial number (even if they have been supplied correctly before packaging) when they are moved to another OS?

  Short answer:

  Because the company that made the software has invested some time to ensure their income...

  Long version:

  There are various reasons why the serial number can be lost/invalidated. Usually (more common) it is because during the installation, a fingerprint of the system has been filed and the software has detected that the system is no longer one that you've installed the software on. This can be a very simple (as the name of the computer) to the complex (os type, NIC MAC address, CPU ID, a serial... OS) validation. At some point, the software determines: enough is enough, I don't trust it more.

  This problem existed before ThinApp or any other virtualization were introduced. Until a few years ago, it was common to "phantom", a role the same image on all systems in a company and system. Microsoft Office XP has been the finest example of an application of all uses and who did not like this mode of distribution. System admins had re - activate all systems in him the original CD.
