  In your new question, it might be advisable to use activation by telephone.  You can get the number to use by typing slui 4 [not only slui] in your search box of the start menu.

  There might be a technical problem that needs fixing first, so you could wait and the advice.  There are problems in other parts of the system that can destroy havoc of activation as having a substantially incorrect clock time.

  I get a pop up window that says that my Windows 7 is not genuine.  The computer came with XP and an upgrade to 7.  I recently had the computer erased and reinstalled windows.  However, since some only and now the error started appearing.

  When you request support, please provide the number full name or product model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

  The information requested above are at the bottom of your computer or inside the battery compartment. , Please do not include your serial number. Please enter the product/model information consumer HP Online Support page and post it here for our review.

  

  It is normally the result of one or more corrupted files 'Activation' of Windows or a problem with the BIOS of the computer. Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, computers etc that come with the use of Windows 7 a pre-activation SLP/OA 2.1 System. This system requires a BIOS with an SLP/SLIC 2.1 table to activate a SLP 2.1 OEM Windows 7 product key and a "certificate" of SLP 2.1 OEM. If any on these is damaged or missing, Windows will become "non-genuine".

  Back up all your personal data and files, then recovering your computer to a factory State. This should solve the problem. If this does not resolve the problem, you may have a problem with the SLIC table in BIOS. Please report back with the step that you tried and the results.

  Alternatively, if you still can still read the product key 25 character on the Microsoft COA affixed to your computer, try to use it to activate your computer.

• Windows 7 does not recognize my external screen.

  Windows 7 does not recognize my external screen.  I checked the driver and even of the went to the NVIDIA site and plugged my material for my graphics card ID to get the correct driver and yet, it does not recognize it!  So here's what I have right now since I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate edition = Standard VGA graphics card.  If someone has a legitimate solution to this problem, feel free to comment!
