Windows 7 is only to create ONE BACKUP PERIOD! Help!

My nice Windows 7 gives me a LONG BACKUP TIME for all my backups instead of individual backup periods.  I post this question BECAUSE he has NOT answered by ANYONE with a resolution to this problem AND this problem seems to have been around since 2010.  IT IS NOW 2013.  As my BACKUP PERIOD extends over several months AND because there is only a BACKUP FOR all these months, I'm not able to release any space by removing the previous backup periods because THEY do not EXIST.
Please don't talk to me about images system or anything that does not solve the problem at hand because I see how, which occurred when others have presented the same question.  THIS IS a OLD ISSUE of what I can understand, and it is hoped that MS has his act together enough to answer.

  • I do not understand why my creation of windows DVD burn only 1% of one of my windows movie maker projects.

    Hello

I made a video of my Windows Movie Maker project and have tried several times to burn through my Windows DVD Maker with the burning of 7% max.  After that, it gets stuck.  However, my other several attempts were a result of burning of 1% and it stuck.  I've left overnight to see if it was the capacity but the next day it is still 1%.  I did other projects without problem.  It is only with this project.  I don't understand why it won't let me if I used Windows movie maker without problem.  The video was originally in AVI, but I was able to convert a 3GP using dvdvideosoft software. Then only, I have done a project using my Windows Movie Maker.  The full minutes of this project is 90 minutes, while the DVD that I want to burn it holds 150 minutes.  Can you help me?  Tried several things and can not find the solution.  I don't know that there must be a solution.

What or who persuaded allows you to convert AVI, which is supported by Windows, to 3GP, which is not supported by Windows?

If you must, convert AVI to WMV format.
    Bypass Windows Movie Maker.
Add the WMV video in Windows DVD Maker directly.
    Try to burn now.

  • Windows 7 backup periods

How we could define a period when backup is. I want to do a full backup with extra additions and changes captured, which is what Windows 7 says it does. The problem is that it defines periods of 2 days, then he decided to start a new period with a new, full backup. It doesn't take long to fill the disc

Under Vista, I had to roll to a new backup set, which usually takes several months using an external drive of 500 GB against about 200 GB of data. Now, it takes about 3 days to fill a 640 GB external drive, as it keeps creating new backup periods.

It seems that the backup took a step back.

Ok. The solution is to go to Services, select Windows Media Player Network Sharing Seservice and set the Startup Type todisabled. Stop it doesn't do the trick, it should be disabled. I don't know why this service, but it sets the archive bit on multimedia files (music, video, photos), whereas they are taken over by the incremental backup.

Given that media is the vast majority of the data on the computer, and it doesn't really, otherwise than by the addition, deletion and the very rare edition; I rank it as an involuntary element (bug) of Windows 7.

    Kind regards

  • HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK G6 - HOW TO FORMAT DISKS IN WINDOWS 8 OEM ONLY ONE LANGUAGE

I have HP Pavilion laptop g6 with windows 8 is installed. Recently, I lost my data.

Now, I want to create more than two disks to protect my data, so that if something happens, I have to format the C drive only and my other readers data remains secure.

    Help, please.

    Rajeev

    Hi rajeev11,

If only Windows is corrupt, then yes the created reader will be safe. However if the hard disk itself is corrupted then the created reader would not be safe.

Windows 8 is a way to backup all your data, your programs, your files and your current configurations. It's called a System Image and if you back up to a CD you can keep a safe place in case of crash. A System Image is essentially a copy of your current configuration. This link will show you how to create one. The first part is a little history and context, but it gets to the part of the Image of the system shortly after.

  • Was a backup, and the only file created was mediaID.bin.

Title of the Moose: I ran a backup and the only file created was mediaID.bin.  That all my personal files, but also the backup system files contain?

I am running Win 7.  I chose to let Windows choose the files, but I thought he said that personal folders could be saved.  Not sure if.  If this .bin file contains everything, I can choose just to restore personal files from it?  I am naïve.

I saved on a flash drive.  When the backup finished the only file in the Explorer was mediaid.bin, but when I reinserted the drive he showed several zip files and those that do not contain my personal backups, so all is well!  Sorry for the problems with my idiocy!

I made changes to the lineup. After you set up backups to run every day, I went into the Scheduler of tasks in the windows and found the windows backup task. I then modified to run 12 hours later to run a second time in a day.

Is it because I moved in the planning of the backup by default a week at a time it does this.

Apparently, it was not a problem. The first backup period went from 11/12/11 to 12/25/11. A NEW BACKUP PERIOD JUST STARTED AUTOMATICALLY on 26/12/11. The total size of the first full backup period was 29.5 GB. not sure if it's a default size that must be reached before start a new backup set or if a certain percentage of my backup destination must be reached before creating another. In any case, after this experience, the file and folder backup set will begin a new period if the other gets to a certain size.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. In fact, I like the windows backup program. I work in Technical Support and to always direct people to Acronis, Ghost, which I've used Ghost before and like that also. During the action of Thanksgiving, I started to really dig into the windows 7 backup and Restore Center and there is more to that meeting the eye and it's free and ready to go in windows 7. I really recommend people now whereas before I used to steer customers people away from him. I used to think that you cannot retrieve the system image files as you could the ghost, but you can actually mount the backup of disk management by adding a virtual hard disk in the menu Actiion. pretty slick. I like the file and cause the backup folder part is kept the older versions as well as the most recent. I thought that the system images were not additional but felt they were. other that last compression on the backup images, the built-in Windows 7 backup solution is OK by me. I just wanted to learn more by posting here. try to learn as more not to complain. Thanks for all the answers.

  • Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit backup

I want to move from 32 to 64-bit (my laptop is expandable), I need to create a backup, because I have a lot of things on my laptop and cant risk losing it

If I create just an image of the normal system, it won't work on an upgrade to 64-bit so what should I do?

And if something is recorded in drive D or E is it deleted after the upgrade

Your 32-bit application will probably be all install and run correctly on 64-bit Windows, the only ones who don't not install would be much older 32-bit applications from the time of W9x with 16-bit installers.  But, as mentioned by ZigZag3143 there is no way to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit, you need to properly install the 64-bit version, and then install all your programs.

  • Creating a backup for new 6s

I needed a new 6 for personal use when my business is my current 6 s for work only. I backed up my new phone to my phone work on my Mac to save all my information, aps, etc that I have to delete my work phone aps personal, so I need now two different backups, but they are saved on the same device name.  How can I create a backup for my new phone, but all by keeping all the data?

Each device that you are backing up to a computer via iTunes (or iCloud) will have a separate backup. It may be easier to tell apart them if you use a different name for each device in (on phones) settings > general > topic > name.

You can check what backups that you have made to a computer via iTunes by clicking the iTunes Preferences and clicking on "Devices" in the top of the Preferences window. You can see all iCloud backups by (on your phone) going into settings > iCloud > storage > storage management.

Nothing else happens even if I wait for a long time. Is this normal? How long should I wait?

  • Windows Backup & restore leaves gaps in the backup period date ranges

I noticed that backup & restore leaves gaps in the date ranges displayed on the screen of backup periods under the function to manage the space.  This means that files change during the interval periods have not been saved?  For example, the screen shows currently backups and the following periods:

    Jan 26: 12-18 Mar, 12 GB 10.40

    Apr 04, 12-13 Apr, 12 GB 19.62

    27 April, 12-27 Apr, 12 GB 05.16

    May 06,12 - May 06,12 02.41 GB

    May 27.12 - 17 Jun, 12 GB 03.41

What is the importance of gaps?

How can I tell that B & R is fully backup all files that changed since the last backup run?

How can I varify the 1st backup is a backup full?

How can I varify that the system image backup is up-to-date?

I save approximately once a week to a USB external hard drive. I use options "Include a system image" and "Let me choose" to select the files and have selected the option 'keep only the last frame system & minimize the space used '.

    Hello

Backups are created in sets called backup periods. To maximize your disk space, Windows backup backup all folders selected, the first time it's run and then it only backs up files that are new or have been modified since the last backup was made. Periodically, Windows creates a new, full backup. Each full backup is called in a backup. When you view your backups of files, you can see all the backup periods with date ranges. If you decide to delete backups of files, you should always keep the most recent backup of the file.

  • Windows 8.1 did not create a user profile after creating a new user

I was deeply puzzled by this problem.

Just bought a MS Surface Pro 128 GB and upgraded to 8.1 Windows it works fine until I needed to create a new user. He is a user of child for my daughter with a local account only. After creating the new user account, I tried to logon. He complained "user profile Service does not have the sign in» Google it and found the solution to change the registry for the location of the profile displayed on many sites. So I launched regedit. But to my surprise, there is no entry for the new user to the profilelist title - there are only two entries: one for me (admin), and the other is for a user named "fwuser". So I couldn't use the method to rename the master for this problem.

Could someone give me a tip, which could cause this problem and how to fix it? Much appreciate it.

  • 10.2.3 FCPX create a backup of the library

When you create a new library yesterday, FCPX has not created a backup of the library at the specified location. Other existing libraries are saved correctly. Even after the creation of duplicate projects and closing and reopening of the new library, not yet any backup library. Any suggestions? Thank you, marc

What you've done by duplicating your project is the first thing that I would have suggested, (using the copy as command Snapshot is a manual way of backup and that some editors commonly use for version their projects.)

But that is not answering the question of why your library is not automatically back up as it should. (I guess you already checked the location of the backups in the property inspector library > storage locations.)  First of all, remove preferences when you launch FCP. We e the new empty library as a library of important one test and edit to the project timeline.  Work on something else for 20 minutes, stop and check your backups folder.  If a backup was created, I suggest to move the event/project work to the new library. Open the working draft, do a trivial edit (after another 20 minutes) leave and see if things are back to normal.

    Good luck.

  • Create a backup of the plant on removable storage

Can it be done? I have a 32 GB Acer Iconia Tab 8 W, with 8.1 on Windows, it leaves me with not enough space for the backup. But I put a memory card and get a command prompt to create a backup. I don't know how the program works, or what he does to create a.

Edit: Is it fair to backup a partition already on the hard drive if I had to use a USB stick as described here? Because I'm sure that my Tablet does not come with a recovery partition... If this is true, then my problem is solved. I need to order the Acer recovery media. If the nagging thing can actually download the default factory setting on my Micro SD card, which can be placed on a USB key, I'd be surprised but delighted.

In fact, you have two options. Acer recovery software will create an image of the 'factory restore' for you. The Windows backp (IIRC it's Windows 7 backup & restore) will create a backup that gives back to what you currently have. They will work together with the USB drives, and I think with the SD cards as well. Windows, you will require a second disc to create the boot recovery image. I would suggest using a 16 GB drive for Acer backup images, a 4 GB drive for the recovery disc and a 32 GB for Windows backup. If it were me, I would get a USB adapter cable and do everything on the readers of thumb, so the adapter is useful for little mjuch anything that uses USB.
