I just installed the upgrade to windows 7 on Gateway computer. I got an error message saying checkdisk had to repair the error. Now when it starts I go as far as to put in place installation services and he gets then an another error saying the pc restarts unexpectedly and the computer must restart to complete the installation. • Upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium with the Professional Windows 7 upgrade software?

I got a deal to get the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade for $ 100, thought that I get it.  Only now I realize that I had Vista Home Premium on my laptop, and so impossible to move to Windows 7 Pro.  I went out and bought the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade today for another $ 100 to upgrade.

Basically, can I use this software to upgrade Windows 7 Professional upgrade the copy of Windows 7 family upgrade that I just bought. If I can do:

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium< windows="" 7="" home="" premium="" upgrade="">< windows="" 7="" professional="">

I hope I explained this correctly.  I don't want to really not get stuck with a copy of Windows 7 Pro upgrade software that I can't do anything with.  Any help would be incredibly useful.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key to Windows 7 Professional on demand, click on, and then restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and your files and settings retained. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com

  • X 200 Vista to Windows 7 clean Upgrade - Software License concern vs

I bought a X 200 with Vista (before the free update) and now bought the Windows 7 upgrade software.  Most of the forums tech recommends a clean install instead of upgrade.  Should I worry if the software I have purchased (for example MS Office, Acrobat 9, etc.) he will have to buy another license?  Alternatively, it "will recognize" my PC if I copy down product keys?

    Hello

Most of the software still lack activation so there, it comes to have the serial number and the corresponding Installer/CD recorded.

With Adobe software that uses the activation, you can disable the software before the upgrade and then reactivate after.

I don't know how sensitive MS Office is. My experience with a system that I helped to recover was that Office reactivated automatically on the same machine. I guess that even if you activate by phone there should be no problem that you reinstall on the same machine.

  • Can I sell my copy of Windows 7 (upgrade)?

My computer came with Vista, so I bought an upgrade to Windows 7. This is a copy of purchased retail Newegg. But my computer is completely dead, is there a way I can return or cancel my license so I can sell my copy of the upgrade on Ebay or elsewhere?

My new computer is already comes with Windows 7 install, so I don't really need the disks to upgrade.

    How can I do? How?

Edit: For the record, I can't access the old computer, it is quite dead.

The thing is that I am using the new version for about a year (it has been validated), but my computer is dead and it's not as if I can return the license or delete from my hard drive. I want to know that if I sell it, the buyer will be able to post because I'm not on the upgrade and I have no use for him.

In fact a retail upgrade license can be transferred to another computer so so it can be sold and activated on another computer, as long as there is a qualification of operating system already installed and activated legally on the new computer.  Detail improvements are exactly that and are not OEM or at all time options that are restricted are related in that they are installed on the original computer.

    b. Windows Anytime Upgrade software. The first user of the software may reassign the license to another device, but only if the terms of the software license you upgraded allows reallocation.

    18. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY.

I think that you bought the right product. Updates at any time are for the upgrade edition of Windows 7 to a more expensive edition. This isn't what you need to upgrade a Vista system to Windows 7. While Vista upgrades are no longer available from the Microsoft Store.

I suggest that you return to the Microsoft Store site and use the contact methods to discuss your problem with an agent.

  • Windows 7 upgrade advisor, program compatibility HP Media

owner of an HP dv6-1245dx. Always running vista, upgrade to 7 soon.

I downloaded the windows Upgrade Advisor 7, I ran the program. 3 mistakes come in saying I have the version of the HP Media Smart DVD, HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, HP Media TV program

I click on him "click here to get a compatiable version," programs.

    1. I click on HP Media Smart DVD, it takes me to a page where it wants me to download a version for HP touchsmart... but I do not have an HP smart touch, I a dv6 (wrong product).

    2. I click on the HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, which brings me to random about the software with no upgrade or products page

    3. I click on th HP Media TV, I see that he wants me to download an older version of the program.

so I download, install, restart my computer, run the Upgrade Advisor, hoping to see that there are 2 errors, but NO, the HP mediaSmart TV said it must still be fixed... which I just did again!

Basically the first link go to a page of bad product, and the second link sent me to a random page that talks about program and it does not recognize that I just fixed one of the questions that he told me to fix.

Can you guys help out me?

What are the program version compatiability of HP Media Smart DVD, HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, HP Media TV, which will allow me to level to windows 7 safely?

    Hello

Windows 7 upgrade advisor is not so smart as you think. It showes sometimes bad results.

According to this document from HP to down:

    The upgrade to Windows 7

    Question:

Unable to uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD in Windows 7.

    Fix or workaround:

Uninstall MediaSmart DVD before the upgrade to Windows 7. After the upgrade to Windows 7, install the compatible version Windows 7 HP MediaSmart DVD the DVD Upgrade Wizard at level HP or www.hp.com/support .

Which means then you just uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD before upgrade.

When you're after update just install all of the latest software for MediaSmart and everything should be ok.

  • Cannot download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

I can't download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Everytime I try it says "Connection interrupted", but there is nothing wrong with my connection. I had the same problem when I bought a Zune and tried to download the software necessary to run it (I had to go back because I never solved the problem) now I think, I never seem to be able to download anything from Microsoft, but I don't have an active version of Windows Vista with the valid product key.

What should I do to fix this? I will pass a 32-bit version of Vista to a 64 bit 7 as soon as get the boot disk (I have to wait for the boot disk, right?...) and I want to get things ready. Thank you.

    Hello

You can buy Windows 7; It does not come for free.

And the answers are shown here in the Forums, not sent by e-mail.

And e-mail addresses are filtered to protect you from spam bots.

    And follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

  • Windows Vista upgrade to Windows 10

can I switch from Windows Vista to Windows 10 one-step bypassing Windows 7, 8.1 etc.. ? For a free upgrade offer applies here?

    Hello

You must purchase an operating system to be upgraded, regardless of which path to take.

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.
