Windows 7 USB key with a RAW partition.

I have a 1.5 TB drive that has more than one partition. How can I prevent Windows ask me whenever I attach the drive if I want to format the RAW partition? This partition holds a "copy" of a damaged disc that I use a recovery tool on and I don't want to be lost.

Hello

You can stop these guests come by removing the drive letter of the BRUTE partition that is in question. But, before that, you need to check if the RAW partition needs a drive letter in order for you to continue the recovery process you are working on. If the recovery process needs a drive letter associated with the RAW partition, I suggest you all just cancel these guests, until recovery is complete.

Remove the drive letter for the RAW format partition does not affect the recovery process, that you are running so, here are the steps to do:

1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. in the Navigation pane, under storage, click disk management.

3. Select the partition RAW that you speak to, right-click on it and choose the item change drive letter and paths .

4. Select the drive letter, and then click Remove.

Let us know if it helps.

The iPad does not support USB keys. There are some wireless flash drives that can be used, but not the classical records. I suggest you transfer files to a computer and their synchronization then back to the iPad via iTunes.

  • How can I save items on a USB key with Vista?

How can I save items on a USB key with Vista

Plug the Flash drive.  Go to start / computer and find your USB drive listed there.  Find what you want to record on the FlashDrive (from other units identified in Explorer) and copy / them (CTRL + C) and then go to your USB key and click it to open it and press Ctrl + V to paste the files.  That's all there is to it.  You can create folders to store files, like flash drives have limits on the number of files can be stored in the root directory (but not folders).

    I hope this helps.

  • Tool for creating media, Windows Bootable USB key problem

Hey, when using of media creation tool to download and make N 8.1 Windows Bootable on my 64 GB Kingston, USB 3.0, the process gets all the way to the end before failing and say "sorry, something happened and we could not finish creating the flash drive in the drive I got access denied." So my question is; Why won't it work?

Use the multimedia creation tool to download and save the .iso image file. Do not use it to make the USB. This prevents you wasting time downloading Windows 8.1 and then having to redownload as the tool does the USB incorrectly. Rufus makes the Bootable USB key. Its best to use a 8-32 GB USB flash drive and FAT32 format (64 GB will be truncated to 32 GB for FAT32).

If you install in the UEFI with SecureBoot (new Security Technologies - made systems in 2012 or later systems in 2010-2011 may also have the UEFI BIOS with the latest BIOS update but the settings must be enabled) use the "GPT partition for UEFI computer scheme." Be sure to format it in FAT32 or the USB Flash drive will not start.

If you install in a legacy systems BIOS for systems without a UEFI BIOS, then use the "partition MBR BIOS laptop scheme." Its also recommended to format the Flash drive to FAT32 but not necessary for a Legacy BIOS.

I assume you've seen this, but check the settings of - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/Change-AutoPlay-settings#1TC=windows-7

Good reading, at least, of this section, "How to disable or enable all AutoPlay in Windows 7 and other operating systems" of this document - http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/967715 to see if that would help its. Although the document starts saying its for XP and later for Vista, it then expressly mentions W7 in this section.

  • HP Slate 2: format my HP Slate 2 by USB key with a new operating system

    Hello

I bought a HP Slate 2 compressed with the English language of Win 7 Home.

Now, I would like to make one of the Encyclopedia:

    (1) or the Tablet format and install in the new home for Win 7 32 bit

    (2) or the Tablet format and install as a new victory 8.1 Pro 32 bit (buying a serial number)

How can I access the menu of boot at startup of the Tablet?

I plugged a USB keyboard and I pressed F8. It only allows me to see the start of start menu...

Waiting for someone who can help me

P.s: I speak Italian, so I'm sorry for some mistakes...

    Thank you very much

    Hello Alfonso,.

I do not own a Tablet Slate 2 but I know, told by users who were not very happy with Windows 7 and the touch screen feature.

HP does not support Windows 8.1 on this tablet as there are no HP drivers to download for it.

It will build on the generic drivers included in Windows 8, and I don't know how it worked.

    According to the manual...

To open the bios / boot options, start the Tablet and when you see a black screen with flashing cursor, press the low Volume (-) button repeatedly or press F9 or F10 to keyboard until the bios options open.

    It will be useful.

  • Is there a way I can back up my entire iMac G5 on a USB key (with the exception of the system files)

I have an old imac running 10.4.11 G5 ppc and I want to get rid of it, but I want everything except the system files and crap that I don't need the backup. I want beck it upwards on a disc of void

You should be able to create a backup on the disk USB 2.0 to your content

a former Mac PPC; the files could be read by applications or made

be opened by apps later (or those who converted to the future, if possible.)

The limits for rotational USB or USB flash drives were related

the inability of the OS X to start the old Macs for these drives. The

the files themselves should be OK to be read from said readers.

You may be sure choose "ignore permissions" as appropriate

on the drives where the old user accounts can stifle access to their content. Or

create a duplicate of the old files on a different drive, convert the need

for a more recent application. You can make a duplicate of the old together

drive with a clone utility. SuperDuper, double or utility disk peut

do large duplicates. Disk utility can make a disk image. Other applications

could be tempted to see if you could save-as or convert a newer version.

    Good luck!

  • Windows keeps freezing whenever I insert a USB key which has been formatted on a Linux machine.

I'm mostly a Linux user, but having to use Windows machines at work sometimes.  I format all my USB format keys FAT in Windows because Windows is not able to read the format file ext4 that prefer Linux.  Whenever I plug the thumb drive in one of our Windows 7 computers to work, Windows will freeze for 30 seconds to two minutes, then tell me that it cannot find a file to open my tar.gz files (no duh - tar.gz is not a format compatible windows) then he very slowly shows the contents of the disc.

Any advice on how to keep Windows 7 machines Flake whenever you plug in a USB key with files in Linux on it?

It of curious why Windows try to open archive.  If you hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the USB (to remove any autorun), does make a difference?  AutoPlay is enabled in Control Panel / AutoPlay?

  • Lenovo B590 won't usb key boot

I just bought this laptop and it came with windows preinstalled 8, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 on it.

I have a bootable usb key, which I've used several times to install Windows on my other laptops, but the just B590 won't. I feel I have tried everything. I changed boot priority in the BIOS with USB HDD as number 1, but it always starts just in windows 8.

I tried to delete everything except the boot order USB devices, and now I get this start menu:
    http://i.imgur.com/1iV2iaW.jpg

Which is exactly what I want to boot from, but when I press ENTER to boot the USB device, nothing happens. It's incredibly frustrating.

The USB device IS bootable with a primary partition. I used these steps to make it bootable in DISKPART:
    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/234.how-to-deploy-Windows-7-from-a-USB-Dr...

After having no luck on the B590, I tried to boot from the USB stick on another computer and it works perfectly fine. Start the installation of windows 7. This suggests that the problem is not with my USB.

I even tried to restore the USB and use Lenovo generator Bootable application to make the bootable usb key, with the same result.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Hypotaksen,

Thank you for using the Community Forums of Lenovo!

    BIOS backwards

    Under the Startup tab

    Change Boot mode in legacy

    USB boot must be enabled

    Under Security

    Secure Boot should be disabled

In case the above options are grayed out in your BIOS, got to the tab out and change OS optimized defaults to other OS

    and look at the options.

Once all are set be sure to save all changed by pressing F10 and enter for Yes

After Hitting enter it restart and you have to keep tapping F12

This should make the Start Menu that lets you choose where to start. You should now have your USB optional.
