Windows 7 won't signal to DisplayPort

Hello

I just bought a new LCD that accepts a digital input (Fujitsu P24W - 5 ECO), however, Windows 7 (64 bit) only output signal through the VGA cable.  The LCD received no signal and switch mode 'sleep' will cause only the DisplayPort (m) cable / DVI (m).  Unfortunately, I do not have access to another computer with the DisplayPort to check that the cable works, but I guess for now that the cable is not the problem. I want to take full advantage of the digital signal.

Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad W500

Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400, Radeon HD 3650 and FireGL V5700 (Switchable Graphics Driver) with the latest driver installed

I tried solutions:

-restart Windows with the LCD connected and on.

-do not connect until Windows has started,

-Connect the side DisplayPort first, then wait for 10 seconds and then connecting the LCD monitor DVI port

-connection when Windows is running, and then turn on the LCD

Thank you very much for your help!

See the instructions of Lenovo, probably means that your display port is 'active', unless of course this means that you must use the vga/dvi adapter

  • Windows Media won't play a DVD

How com windows media won't play a dvd, even with a decoder, I added this morning?

I'm having the same problem. My computer has Windows XP Professional Office. Media Player 11 is on it. But when I try to play a DVD, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because no compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer" is not Media Player got it own decoder? I don't want to download some other decoder from another provider that I don't know. I got Windows Media Player on every computer I've ever owned and have never had problem reading DVD or something else. What is the problem and how to fix it? My computer has a DVD driver... and yet I can't watch DVDs... makes no sense...

And yes the DVD play on other computers and DVD player to the TV. Not a scratch above. Nothing wrong with the DVD. ANY DVD will not play the computer, with the fact that I have a problem...
And Yes, I am talking about Windows Media Player.

    =================================================

A DVD decoder is not included with Windows XP...
so, we need to be acquired and installed from a third

It would have been included in your OEM software

  • Windows 7 won't let me access the files (my documents, my downloads), but the programs work very well!

Currently, I am running windows 7 Ultimate on my desktop I built. My computer starts up fine, no problem when I connect and I can run all my programs like itunes, security suite norton, chrome, Picasa and Microsoft word work completely fine. There is no problem to save things on Word view my photos on Picasa (which is on the C drive) or by playing songs on itunes (which means that I can access my hard drive through programs), but when I try to open the downloads folder, it shows a popup that says: "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. "and does not open the file. The problem is that I AM the administrator account on the computer! However, when I open things in my libraries such as My Documents or my music, there just a blank page, saying that I have no files in this folder, but I have files in all of these files: photos, all my music itunes and documents.

The interesting thing is that I can save documents to the word to My Documents and it will be displayed at the beginning, but when I close the My Documents window and reopen it, the file disappeared and the folder is 'empty' again.

Currently. I have 2 hard drives connected, a seagate 1 TB and a supplement of 250 GB. Both of these drives appear in disk management, so that the computer knows and is able to see are how many gb on them. Apart from this recognition, when I open the start menu and press computer, it only shows my USB and my CD player, nor of my hard drives. I know that computers are connected correctly as they hum and dry as usual. I am very worried about what is, be it a virus, bad connection, settings that have been changed for any reason any.

Please help me understand why Windows 7 won't let me access my files through programs, but not in Finder Windows, I have very important files on this computer that I can't lose!

Windows 7 has a feature of self defense which is a pain.

He doesn't like files from other computers,

Right-click on the folder and select properties and see if there is a release button.

    Repeat for external drives.

  • Windows 7 won't remember the last used file path

So to this question, take the Gmail.  If you enter an email and want to attach a file, you click on join and Win 7 by default on the desktop, from which you access the folder you need.  It's very good... for the first time.  However, while she is supposed to be smart enough to be REMEMBER this location next time.  NOPE.  Win 7 keeps by default on the desktop, even if you attach a file and then IMMEDIATELY try to attach to another.

Is there a solution for this?

    * original title - Windows 7 won't remember the last used file path.  Very frustrating *.

It is not a particular problem with Windows 7, but the Internet browser.   We remember is no longer default path of Internet Explorer with the introduction of sandboxing Protected Mode.  Even Windows XP, using the results of this sandbox layout in this behavior.

Your temporary solution is to use another browser, such as Google Chrome.  In the meantime, your comments that you want to have the ability to remember the last folder used in the browser is important in the future development of the browser.  Leave your comments here, please: https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=136

I restored my computer to girls at an earlier date, and now the password windows 7 won't save us. She never changed the password before and now we cannot connect. How to do it please help.

This means that a different password was in effect at this point, even if your daughter thinks otherwise. There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (only works if an indicator was created and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
The most important point would be: run a machine without a spare admin account is about as risky to have a house key. Sooner or later, he is at risk for any number of reasons.

  • ProBook 6540 b: no audio signal through Displayport

The Displayport video output on 6540 b does support audio? If so, how I would allow sound through displayport through the windows? I was not able to get sound to participate in one of my TVs that has DisplayPort inputs.

    Hello:

It's possible this is the case.

There are a few PCs that do not support audio out of the view port.

I was hoping that it works.

What would you say to the manage audio devices in the hardware and sound section in the control panel?

You see two audio devices listed?

The laptop speakers would be the IDT audio and if you see an Intel HD audio device, for the display port.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to connect to a display port, select the Intel HD audio device in the window and see if it works.

If you do not see the two audio devices listed there, so I doubt he's has supported audio out of the view port.

  • clean install of windows XP to input signal out of range

Hi I recently took my old pc xp out of the dusty closet.
I discovered that the operating system has been corrupted then decided to do a clean install of windows xp.
However after that it says press any key to boot from the disk and I press a button, then it went to a screen blank and says on the monitor says "Input Signal out of range at 1280 x 1024 60hrz. change."
I also did a reset factory monitor and hooked up the old pc to the tv.
So I would like to know how to solve the problem, any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello

First you using a discrete graphics card or graphics are integrated with the motherboard? Change BIOS battery (or whatever it is in the BIOS change to any method) will not change anything to do with a graphics card discrete and not likley to do much for either integrated graphics card.

What it sounds like to me, is that the key to the race to start from the CD is not recognized and that Windows is actually booting from the hard drive with a resolution taken not supported by your monitor. But, being not there, I can't be sure of this so here are some ideas of diagnostic.

Start the PC without the CD inserted, do you have the same problem?

    The keyboard is correctly connected?

If a PS/2 keyboard is it plugged into the outlet of PS/2 mouse by mistake (keyboard taken are normally purple, green mouse normally Sockets)?

Is the keyboard PS/2 or USB? You can try another keyboard ideally with the other type of interface?

You can get in the setup of the BIOS by the appropriate key combination (usually F2 or DEL but I saw others also, look for the message at startup upwards)? If you can not it would indicate a keyboard problem.

If you can remove the keyboard as a problem, I would return to my original question on a discrete graphics card. If there is a discreet graphics card, the motherboard is also a graphic? If this is the case, remove the discrete card and try windows set up again. Or even try installing windows with a spare graphics card if you can get your hands on one. Turn off the computer and unplug it from the socket before to remove/replace all internal components.

Finally, what of the installation CD? Is this the one supplied with the PC? It is the recovery of the real manufacturer CD or CD from Microsoft genuine?

    Tricky

  • Windows Vista won't let me enter a password

    Hello

My mother has Windows Vista, and today when she went to turn on the computer, to the Vista Welcome screen, when it prompted for a password, it would not let him anything.  If she goes into repair mode when starting, it let him then and he will accept.  She has not changed recently, or someone else.  She tried to start safe mode and also checked the keyboard keys stuck and dirt.  She is old, does not know the product # and is not a disc of recovery of any kind.  For some reason any Vista simply won't let no its nothing State in the password box.

    Can we do anything?

While she did a restore of the system scanned for malware and nothing works.

If she can't do those steps, or they do not solve the problem, it will have to reinstall the operating system.

  • Suddenly windows security won't allow me to 'send email '.

Windows Mail suddenly started a box to appear when sending email: CONNECTION to (my domain)
"Please check that the username and password are correct for your mail server."
When I enter the info, the box just keeps popping up, do not allow me to send an email. This same e-mail account works on another computer with the same password information. Email my wife on his side of this computer also sends very well (using the same domain, but with its own password of course). Problem occurred after the computer has been left on all day, when the mail is opened.

    Worked fine for 3 years.

If the system restore does not resolve, you might want to consider your e-mail as account corrupted.
My suggestion is to delete your account, restart your computer, then recreate the same account.
You won't lose anything while your account is deleted.
Make sure that you write the first settings before you delete the account. You're going to be re - enter the same parameters.

Catch 22 is that Windows Update has no options for anything other than Windows. He won't find the updates for the office or any of the other Microsoft programs I installed and there is no option to enable it in Windows Update settings.
