Windows 8 media download

Hello

I removed my windows program from my pc and returned 8 to windows 7.  However, after paying for windows 8 and still have the product key, I would download it again - but not on my hard drive.  I would like to download on external media, as a key usb, dvd, or other.  I was unable to locate any reference to this option on the Microsoft site, so my question is: this option is available and can someone direct me to it?

Thank you very much

  • Download pirated Windows XP Media Center with the genuine key?

    Hi all

First of all, I apologize if the thread, I created is in the wrong place (Technet forums), but I got enough good help from technet on a Windows 7 problem, that I had. I've recently updated to the Genuine Windows XP Media Center to a genuine Windows 7 Professional.

I own a HP pavilion laptop came pre-loaded with XP MC (media center). Now, HP does not record with the laptop, instead, there is a recovery partition which can be transferred to DVD to create additional space on the HARD drive, I did. Unfortunately my DVD player no longer works, and I can not restore my XP to factory settings (new facility) because the HP restore software only reads from the DVD.

This XP has become bloated over time, and I want to do a new installation.

It is, I could download a pirated copy of the media center XP SP3 and use my real serial number and / or additional information to activate it?

    Thank you

No, because your key is specific to an HP facility.

  • Setup live TV in Windows 7 Media Center hangs at «Downloading TV setup data»

Original title: Windows 7 Media Center live TV Setup

I have Windows 7 Home Premium on your desktop Gateway SX2840-01.  I have a HP usb TV tuner.  I'm unable to set up Media Center to receive television through the tuner.  Put in place hangs at the page «Downloading TV setup data»  It just stay there with no error message or another pop ups. The line of progression on the display benchmark does not advance.  If I run troubleshooting, this indicates a problem and "WITHOUT difficulty".  The same tuner hooked to another computer had no problem with installation and operation.  This computer has Win 7 and the same drivers downloaded from the Hauppauge web site that has the entry door.  Please give me some possible fixes to complete set upward on the bridge.  Thank you.

I solved the problem listed in the original post on this thread by disabling Windows Media Center and by removing all the files and folders in the shadow of Microsft eHome folder, then by restarting the computer.  I then enabled Windows Media Center and again rebooted the computer.  Of detailed instructions for each of these steps is available in Googleing or Windows support.

  • I have windows 7 and have lost my media center where I can load the replacement software is there a place to download the windows 7 media center.

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD A COPY OF WINDOWS 7 MEDIA CENTER FOR MY OPERATING SYSTEM WINDOWS 7?

You can't download unless you run Windows 7N.  Media Center is an essential component of all other editions of Windows 7.  But you can unload and then reload.

Unload 1 Media Center - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn turn Windows features on or off, characteristic of the media, Media Center clear box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

2 reload Media Center - Control Panel, programs and features, [left] turn Windows features on or off, multimedia functions, the Media Center of the value checkbox, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

At the end of this, you will actually have a new installation of Media Center.

  • A clean install of Windows 8 OEM - Media Download

    Hello world

I'm a Rockstar of Dell Community and I was a writer of the Dell community wiki. My Windows reinstallation Guide wiki and related Guides can be found here:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/f/3524/t/19480753.aspx

I'm trying to find a download link that allows users to clean install their version OEM of Windows 8.

There are ways to install Windows 8 with a product key and generic product keys are available, but the installer of Windows 8 seems to accept, then only reject them by saying: unable to connect:

http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/4415.a-clean-install-of-Windows-8-not-working.aspx in addition, this Setup requires a previous working version of Windows and is clearly not suitable for a variety of reasons for any new installation on a blank hard drive (which may be necessary in the event of failure of the hard drive for example).

It seems to be too difficult for users of Dell in Europe in order to obtain the media:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/f/4677/t/19476992.aspx

We would like a download link and I have mentioned this to all my Dell contacts and posted on IdeaStorm about this:

    http://www.IdeaStorm.com/idea2ReadIdea?v=1359724583158&ID=087700000008luMAAQ

    http://www.IdeaStorm.com/idea2ReadIdea?v=1359724583158&ID=087700000008YVXAA2

I lobbied for this on the end of Dell but have not had much luck until now so I need to push him on the end of Microsoft, but do not have a lot of contacts Microsoft.

It seems no to little interest to write "A clean install of Windows 8" If no users can get media without having to purchase a new license, I wrote, but it is incomplete without a valid download installation source.

Can anyone from Microsoft, Microsoft VIPs and community stars look at my wikies and ideas IdeaStorm and offer a viable solution, so I can complete my wiki and users can clean install their operating system without any preinstalled junk or have a way to reinstall their OS, if everything goes wrong.

A direct link would be preferable because a hard disk can fail and needs replaced. Use of the Upgrade Advisor is acceptable, but such that it download the 32-bit installation on a 32-bit computer files and 64-bit on a 64-bit computer, it's not ideal because users will not have the possibility of that they want to take. by example if computer 1 is 32 and computer science 2 (computer problem) is 64 bit, then they will be run in troubles.

With the product key in hacking the BIOS shouldn't be a problem if the media is free to download. However if a legitimate source is not available for users to clean install with piracy will increase considerably.

In addition the inability of users to read the product key can also be a problem for the activation of product in some rare cases. I suggest that Microsoft allow / OEM do print the product key in the BIOS as safety net information:

    http://www.IdeaStorm.com/idea2ReadIdea?v=1336244451843&ID=087700000008YWzAAM

    Please notify.

Edit warnings on Windows 8.1 adding updated:

Scenario 1: most of the OEM recovery partitions generally do not work once the partitions systems have been modified in any way or an operating system is reinstalled. The user should rely on the internal recovery partition while they are completely baffled after trying to install Windows 8.1.

Scenario 2: The user should recovery media before installing Windows 8.1 overview - you know as well as I do that some people will not create the recovery media.

Scenario 3: Recovery programs do not always work. I saw, overall community Dell, many clients have difficulties, create recovery media. They are in trouble, if something goes wrong.

Scenario 4: The user thinks that they have created a recovery media, but really what they have created is a corrupted DVD set (i.e. used low-quality DVD or USB). When they are in pain to go and use, they do not work.

Scenario 5: The user made a recovery media and he lost. They are also in trouble.

Scenario 6: The user suffers from an out of the box starting problem when the system arrives due to misconfiguration of factory settings, in particular with a cache drive I've seen many users have and could easily fix it on their own, but can't because they have no .iso Windows 8 or 8.1 of Windows.

Scenario 7: A major problem that corrupts any installation of Windows 8 or virus Windows 8.1 and infects USB recovery when the user tries to start from it. A third-party utility such as DBAN could be used to wipe the system in this case and new facility could be made using a .iso and a USB after.

Scenario 8: Windows 8.1 is a Service Pack. Service Packs have been known to cause a range of issues especially when third-party software and drivers are installed in front of them. Hint, hint factory settings. Factory settings are preloaded with these problems. Its why my Windows reinstallation Guides always recommend to install Windows, then on the stand-alone Service Packs via updates unless they are included on the installation media. Note, that I recommend that you install the Service Packs before the system drivers. Users do not have these problems if they are properly followed up my guides.

Several scenarios could be made by mixing these 8 above to the top.

Edit 2: See the comments made by 2 MVP who responded to this topic which seems to indicate that they want to make things worse by removing the download links of Windows Vista and Windows 7:

    http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php/topic, 14452.0.html

So it's very obvious from the actions of Microsoft that Microsoft aims is not to prevent piracy, but double dependent people when their system fails and requires a re-installation of external media (in which case they upgraded to a SSD, or their recovery partition is wiped out. The percentage of those who just end up buying a retail version of Windows when their disk failed hard is very important, something that adds dramatically to the benefits of Microsoft. These business practices of Microsoft are clearly unjust and illegal and something must investigate and pursue the U.S. Department of Justice.

This part is quite obvious, given that their prevention of piracy is so poor that their policies can only intended strictly to reap illegal profits to force non-legal tech savvy users to pay twice for windows they already paid when they bought their system. It was not the case, they would freely allow users to download an OEM ISO of Windows 8, so that they can recover if their hard drive fails completely, as OEM ISO is useless for a pirate without a license (usually built-in to the motherboard) key and a pirate will have easy access to a copy of Windows 8 without worrying. Again, the only people hurt by these policies are legal users, not pirates.

Now that piracy is concerned, I further suspect that given poor piracy prevention mechanisms of Microsoft that allow hackers to distribute auto activated copies of Windows 7, etc. that Microsoft would have rather let poor people use a pirated version of Windows to completely block and force them to use Linux that would increase the base of Linux users. So I surmise that they intentionally allow ways for hackers to hack their Windows software anyway, because the poor free moccasins will not pay for Windows do anything because they have simply not the money, yet nevertheless it is in the interest of Microsoft to prevent them moving to Linux because most of the poor is just young, and will later money for licenses of Microsoft. But here again the only systems in question here are systems more alumni who have XP or Vista, licenses while other systems that people are supposedly piracy have valid Windows 7 and 8 license keys that Microsoft wants a double payment for!

The Windows 8.1 with update 1 .iso is now downloadable without entering a product key. It is downloadable for the OEM license and I've documented here in an updated guide focusing on licensed OEM with UEFI and SecureBoot:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Windows/download-Windows-8-1-retail-and-OEM-ISO/

This .iso works with product keys well Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. The main issue is to determine your edition. The edition correct will automatically enter your product key and brings you to the screen of the license agreement. Incorrect editing will ask for a product key. Also, there are two editions of 'free' missing; Windows 8.1 with Bing and Windows unilingual 8.1 with Bing.

Ironically, Microsoft fixed the deployment of multimedia files of Windows 8 (not at 100% but greatly) and then severely broke the deployment of multimedia files Windows 7 a few months later.

  • Windows XP Media Center 2005 cannot connect to the Internet

    Dear all,

I'm having a problem with Windows XP Media Center 2005. The problem is that when I connect the cable from the modem to the laptop, I only send packets without receiving. The IP address I get is also 169.254.207.207, which is not a valid IP address to connect to the internet, and so I guess that something is blocking the laptop to get the IP address. Another thing I noticed is that when I turned off the modem and restart it, I have connectivity maybe 5 seconds and then return to no connectivity.

You guys can tell me what is the problem, and if I have to download something but in addition to the internet so that I can get my laptop to work. That said, I can connect to wireless with no problems.

Thanks for your help and your time

    Martyna

    Hello

Sorry for the question but what modem did you mean?
A simple analog modem or DSL (broadband) modem that supports support a LAN connection.
If you mean the second then I would check the TCP/IP settings in the properties of LAN card. The settings should be set to automatic

You should also check that you firewall settings.

    Hi James,

Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find all the answers related to Windows.

According to the description, it looks that you are not able to install Windows XP Media Center.

I have a couple of steps that should help you to solve this problem.

Follow these 4 steps to install the KB925766 correctly:

    a. if the 886904 update is installed, you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install the Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will fail.

To determine whether the 886904 update is installed, follow these steps:

    i. click on start, run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

II. Click to select the show updates check box.
III. in the list currently installed programs, locate the following item:

Fix for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904)

If you see this option, you must remove the hotfix. To remove the patch, click on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904) Hotfix and then click on remove. Then, visit the Windows Update Web sit to download and install the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

    b. to install this update, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installed. Windows Update detects whether these packages are installed. Windows Update automatically installs these packages for you.

    (i) follow the link below to download the .net framework 1.1 manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

(ii) follow the link below to download the .net framework 1.1 SP1 manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8f5654f-088e-40b2-bbdb-a83353618b38&displaylang=en

    c. cumulative update 2 for the Windows XP Edition Media Center 2005 (KB900325)
Follow the link below to download and install the KB900325:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=e5daf37e-E243-4410-BC51-81cf2b56fe6e

d.October 2006 Update Rollup for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (KB925766)

  • I have upgraded to Windows XP Professional and now Windows XP Media Center won't play DVD - component missing.

Now I have Windows XP Professional after the upgrade to Windows XP Media Center Edition Home 2005. Now my Media Center won't play DVDs and I keep getting the error message "Missing Component". I tried to reinstll cumulative update 2 for Windows XP Media Center 2005 that has worked for me the last time I had this problem, but now I get the Error Message "you must have Windows XP Media Center 2005 installed to get this download and it shows already on my computer as installed components. When I reinstalled it 3 years ago he corrected the problem of DVD. Help, please

Thank you for your help. Here are the answers your request:

The windows of origin is always on display as shown above, but I received a free upgrade to Windows XP Professional CD and installed on my computer. And under 'Information system', it shows as - Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3.

This problem started about 10 days when I used the CD of XP Professional to correct a problem. My computer is a Dell Dimension 5100 and I have two CDs that were sent to me - Dell - Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP 3 and Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Version 2005 with update Rollup 2.

Thanks again and I ran the "fix it" you suggested but it have no problem found to fix. Every thing works fine on my system, but Media Center won't play DVD. It will play CDs and videos on my system.

The initial problem was that I could not download the Blackberry Desktop Software - updates needed. The computer came with Windows XP Media Center Edition Home and I use Internet Explorer 8 as my default browser. I also use Mozilla Firefox as my backup browser.

Please stick to your thread to avoid confusion of origin: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/i-have-upgraded-to-windows-xp-professional-and-now/f5245962-e9b4-4415-8aff-bc1d972f8120

Note that I asked you to MOVE your original thread on the forum of material WinXP, not start a new thread.

Also note that you don't have NO Windows XP Media Center Edition, installed now if you upgraded to Windows XP Professional.

PS: If "winver" still says Windows XP Media Center Édition, did you not correctly upgraded & something is not. Better contact the Dell Support on this issue (if they'll still talk to you).
