Windows 8 Metro apps don't recognize USB 3 g connection (Huawei E1762)

Hello

I recently installed Windows 8 Pro and uses a 3G (Huawei E1762) USB dongle to access the internet. This connection connects very well using the software on the modem and connection also via Windows using the same way as you would with a dial-up connection. By clicking on the network icon, the connection is indicated under 'Connections' as 'connected '. I can browse the web, download updates Windows etc with no problems.
When I try to use the features of Windows 8 Metro application connectivity (eg. Sign in to Facebook, open weather or new), I get a notification that there is no active internet connection, despite the recognition of the connection status as "Connected" via the network and Windows Sharing Center. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this problem can be solved? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Disable connection sharing fixed this problem for me. Windows key + C > settings > Internet access > right click on the active 3G connection > turn sharing or disable > click on "no, turn on sharing or connect to devices.

  • DAQmx using with windows 8 metro app

    Hello

I wanted to create a simple application of metro style in windows 8, which reads the temperature nor usb tc01 Thermocouple. However im getting these errors:

When adding: using NationalInstruments.DAQmx;  as a reference in my project, I get this error:

Error 9 there is an incompatibility between the processor architecture of the "MSIL" project under construction and the processor architecture of the reference "NationalInstruments.DAQmx", "x 86". This discrepancy can cause runtime failures. Please remember to change the architecture of the processor target of your project via Configuration Manager in order to align the processor between your project and reference architectures, or take a dependency on references with a processor architecture corresponding to the architecture of the processor target for your project.

When adding: using NationalInstruments.Common; as a reference in my project, I get the error shown in the attached photo.

Anyway is around to use DAQ in metro (store windows) applications?

    Hi zyberb,

It is covered in the frequently asked Questions about Windows 8:

Can I write apps Store of Windows using software of NOR?

Windows apps Store cannot be created using National Instruments software. These applications are run in a 'sandbox' environment, which limits their access to the system calls for low level such as the Win32 API. National Instruments products require direct access to these API calls and the system works properly. Therefore, applications created with the National Instruments software cannot only run Windows Store applications.

  • Windows 8 metro apps works is not on my HD 1280 x 720 display.

My monitor is resolution 1280 x 720. And I have to set a low resolution 1024 x 768 for metro apps work. It's weird in this resolution. Fix this microsoft. Or is it possible to set a resolution of 1280 x 768 on windows?. The highest resolution I get on windows is 1280 x 720.

The screen resolution you can get will depend on your monitor, your graphics card and drivers of these two devices. Check the specifications of these two devices to see what both are capable of contracting. Update the drivers if necessary (including the graphics card). If possible, then change the resolution to something higher.

If you have a desktop PC, you can always consider upgrading your graphics card. Even the most basic relatively cheap will offer a higher resolution you need. Of course, if the limiting factor is your monitor that would be more expensive.

  • Windows 7 backup function does not recognize the external drive connected to the wireless router

I installed a Belkin router for my laptop and pc, it came with a usb port so that I can connect my external hard drive directly and share it as a backup drive.  But when I tried to set up in Windows 7, the backup options list.  The network recognizes it, but Windows will not let me select it as backup destination.  A buddy of mine said that the backup of Windows 7 does not work with network drives, but no matter who else thought of it?  Thnx.

It depends on the flavor of Windows 7. The Home Premium version will not network disks, backup but the Ultimate version. You can connect your drive as a USB drive when you make your backup.

  • Windows 8 music app has empty library

My music is stored on my hard drive for storage in the computer (D:\Media\Music). Windows 8 Pro is installed until my SSD (c).

The view of the office, I went to the library 'Music', the button clicked on «Manage Library» I removed the two default folders and added my D:\Media\Music folder.
Given that my music collection is a mixture of files MP3, Ogg and FLAC I installed WMP Tag Plus.
Windows Media Player for the opening of the office shows that my entire library, as well as the Ogg files and Flac are properly listed and playing very well.
If I go to the music app Windows 8 (metro app, which is the new name?), he said: "it's lonely here ' to the 'my music' section and the library is empty."
I could wait for the marks of a closed environment it is impossible to play Ogg and Flac files, but also ordinary MP3 files (and even some WMA files) are not at all, while Windows Media Player from the desktop them clearly lists in the music library.
So, how can I get my library is displayed in the metro music app? As I said, I added my folder (LOCAL!) in the music library of the desktop mode.
Secondary question: is it possible (and Yes, how) to play Ogg files and FLAC for the metro app?

I understand that this is an old question, but I hope that my solution helps someone.

As the user who posted the question, I have my music collection stored on another partition of a hard disk. It's convenient, because I do not lose my files when I reformat/reinstall operating system.

So, I did the following and the music app as magically began to recognize my music.

Right click on D:\Music (in my case), went to properties.
On the first tab, I clicked on the button Advanced attributes. On the pop-up dialog box, I checked
"Allow files in this folder to have content in addition to the properties indexed".

    That's all.

System Restore creates a restore point "Undo" which allows you to cancel any act performed by the system restore.  In other words you can duck in time and if you don't like it you can return to the present.

System Restore is a tool of recovery in the short term.  Dating two months in time isn't what it is so that a lot of work such as updates and settings not replaced and should be repeated.  She will play with happiness this task however.

To work around this problem, you must actually connect to the built-in administrator.   Open a command prompt (Admin) with admin rights by using the Windows key + X then select this option.   At the prompt, type:

After the upgrade to windows 10, my computer no longer recognizes my optical disk drive.  It appears in Device Manager, itunes will not import from a music cd, it just seems no longer exist.  I tried to browse the forums and implementation of various suggestions, but nothing works.  Finally, I called microsoft.  The technitian was told that HP has not yet been tested drivers for my particular model, but that if I called them, they would probably have drivers available.  I called HP and they said also, they thought it was a driver problem, and that they could access my computer remotely to install said drivers, but that my warranty had run out, so it would cost me $99.99 (or $199.99 for unlimited technical support for next year).  In other words, they want to charge me a hundred dollars for updating the drivers, I need so that my hard drive with Windows 10.  Am I missing something or is this really the shakedown, it seems to be?

    Human2, welcome to the forum.

There is no win 10 drivers available for your computer.  Given that it is more than 4 years, I don't think they will develop all.  I suggest running Windows Update to see if it solves your problem.

  • Question 8 metro Apps Windows

This question is about the Metro of Windows 8 applications. If this is not the right place for him ask then please tell me the right place to post that I can't find a site to Windows 8 issues anywhere. I currently have a Windows 8 Developer Preview installed on my netbook, and it runs as fluid as a glass of water, but none of the Metro applications worked. I thought that since this was a developer version, apps are non-functional. Not long after this event, I plugged my computer via a RGB cable to a bigger screen. I've accidentally hit a metro app while sailing on the start menu, and to my surprise, she and other applications, works great. I have disconnected the monitor and tried to start again the same apps with my monitor netbook, but it did not work as before. So my question is, the metro apps have a ceiling of resolution? My resolution is 1280 x 600. Very confused.

If this is not the right place for him ask then please tell me the right place to post that I can't find a site to Windows 8 issues anywhere.

None of the Metro applications worked
    My resolution is 1280 x 600.

1024 x 768 is the minimum for Metro applications, they do not work because your resolution is too low.

You can try this modification in order to allow higher resolutions (or use your external monitor):
