Windows 8 slideshow screensaver

On Windows 8 I put together a slideshow of my photos as a screen saver. There are settings to set the time that each picture presents, but the longest is about 10 seconds.  Is it possible that I can extend this time?  (In Windows XP I could specify the length of time, but also by specifying transitions)

I was beginning to think I was the only user of W8 noticed this, which is not very happy that such a small pleasure as the slideshow control has been diminished.  Here again, I think that traditional desktop, start button, etc. worked very well.

Dear Microsoft: sometimes people settle in areas of comfort and routine not because of inertia, but because the manufacturers of a product is not wrong.

  • Windows 7 Photo Screensaver slide show the maximum number of Images? Recommended file specifications?

I use Photos as a screensaver as described here:
It seems that if I have too many image files for the photos as screensaver. After the screen saver slide show has worked for at least 20 minutes, it lags behind trying to leave the screen saver and return to the desktop.
What are the specifications of file recommended for use of photos as a screen saver?
    • file size in MB (which resembles all default values in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
    • dimensions maximum file (which looks like all default values in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
    • types of files (extensions)
    • maximum number of images supported
When you look at the pictures in my file they all seem to be in the 2 MB and range 1920 x 1200. So my only guess is that having too many is the problem. It does not lag when I change the directory of C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper. I'm only here a hypothesis, some data of real functional specs would help immensely.

  • Photos in slideshow / screensaver appear backwards on Apple TV 4

    Apple TV 4th generation

A lot of my photos are displayed backwards in my photostream slide (or when I'm with photostream as screen saver) on my Apple TV 4.

Here are the first pictures directly from the camera of the iPhone which have not been published and are correctly oriented in all applications except on Apple TV.  And I never use 'Orientation Lock' on my phone, so it is not a cause.

Is there a setting that throws this off, or is this something that I would like to report?  I tried hard reset of the device, to reorient the images in the camera (even if they are not turn first of all, I've just turn them a complete 360deg so it records a change) and by selecting another slide show, nothing done.

    Looking forward to responses, thanks!

Interesting. I wonder if there's a device smart detection of orientation and returning accordingly; talk about "headspace operator excesses."

Just incidentally, I do not think that a 360 degree rotation has an effect; Pictures knows there has been no change. Rotation 180, rotates 180, made, would have more effect, but could make no difference here.

You must report this to https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html

    Hello

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. navigate to the

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Gallery\Slideshow\Screensaver photo

    c. If the screen saver is mentioned in the settings, then on the right you will see "FolderPath".

    (d) the entry for folderpath should be C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample pictures

    e. If isn't changing for the above entry.

    f. exit the registry editor, restart the computer and check.

Don't know. The settings for the screen saver are located under this key:

    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Photo.
    Gallery\slide show\Screensaver.

but the values of 'Speed' seem to be 0, 1 or 2 (slow, medium, fast),

UltraVNC seemed to work very well with win 7, but the only software of remote that I know works without fail and control on a very consistent basis, is the enterprise version of RealVNC. Yes, it costs money, but it is comparable to microsoft RDP, with additional features. They have a free version that does not cost any money and it's missing a few features. In a corporate environment, I am sure that this version is a no no.

  • Windows 7 photo screen saver not the 'options' has Vista, how to do i.e. sepia options, transition, random, sizing, etc.

I notice that my Windows Vista Photo Screensaver has options to display photos, sepia, randomly, stretching, transition, sizing of the images etc, and Windows 7 has only a speed option.  What happened to the other options and how to really customize the screensaver?  It seems that the picture for the screen saver option has been reduced and made vary credits for display.  I have a laptop of Acer Thinline 4810 t - 4508 with Windows 7, Intel SU4100 and 4G of DDR3 memory.

    # 3 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/565239?tstart=0 here I describe the components I just used to build a new computer for my wife... to display the key points being a motherboard ASUS and ATI video card... the two are, as far as I know, very good brands

Using WinXP Pro, with all updates from MS, I have a problem with the built-in slideshow screensaver

Sometimes it starts not at all and other times it starts and stops after a few photos... He showed up in his Kodak pictures directory, which has 2-3 dozen of subdirectories and (I guess here) more than a thousand JPG images (can be a GIF or TIF once in a while, but above all to JPG)

Anyone know about the inner workings of the WinXP slideshow screensaver?

Are there too many pictures and it gets confused and won't start or continue to run?
