Windows AIK will install not even if MSXML 6.0 is installed.

I need to modify a Windows PE image that I created for the deployment of the image.  Unfortunately I had to reinstall Windows because of a hardware failure and were not able to reinstall Windows AIK.  When I try to install it, I get the error message "before installing the Automated Installation Kit, you must install MSXML 6.0.

Naturally, I tried to install MSXML 6.0 DVD.  The installation program will not continue because a newer version already exists on the machine.  In fact I already have MSXML 6.0 installed.  The msxml6.dll file version is 6.20.1103.0.

I think that all this comes from a 'fix' of Microsoft who was required to install Visual Studio 2008 (or MS SQL Server 2005 to be precise).  Due to conflicts between updates of MSXML 6.0 and XP SP3, I had to run some script that they had provided to the SQL installer thing thinking that MSXML 6.0 was not installed (reference KB968749).  I think it is also initially WAIK thinking that it is not installed.

I tried to contact MS representative gave me the solution, but I have yet to hear back on their part.  Someone at - it ideas?

    Hi Aaron,

    There are several resolutions by Microsoft engineers, described in detail in another thread on this forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vistawu/thread/ecab6071-9b1a-465b-a451-06cd1c24a671.  One of these recommendations should solve your problem.

  • Windows XP will be not wake up from Hibernate - totally can't do anything!

    Hello

    I guess there are a lot of people with problems to wake up their computer after hibernation, but they are at least able to restart their computer and do work well.

    My problem is that he's been on the hibernation, and it no longer starts. When I press the power button (who usually wakes up my laptop into hibernation), the power button lights up for a second, then turns off. The laptop does not even try to start.

    I tried solutions:
    -Pressing and holding pressed the connected power supply button, to 15 years.
    -Pressing and holding pressed the connected power supply button, since the 1960s.
    -Pressing and holding down the power button without a power supply connected, to 15 years.
    -Pressing and holding down the power button without a power supply connected, since the 1960s.
    -Removal of the chips of RAM and going through the 4 above.
    -Remove the HARD drive and going through the 4 above.
    -Remove the RAM and HARD drive and going through the 4 above.
    -Remove the CMOS battery without any power supply plugged (which requires a total strip down my laptop)

    After all my attempts at DIY solutions, the power always button annoyingly turns on for a second and then turns off after that and nothing is accomplished.

    Before I head to get a new laptop, I'd like to solve this problem. I've always used Hibernate and nothing like it never happened. Just a few days before this problem, sleep seems to work very well.

    If it's any help, I use NEC Versa S940, Windows XP SP3 (I think) with 2 GB of RAM, 60 GB HDD. Any other information that will help you?

    Thank you! Appreciate any feedback!

    With the laptop is as old as it is, you can be better save money to use on this new Acer :-)

    I don't know if it's the MB, or possibly the power supply internal, but if she's not even power up to a POST screen or splash image something is bad wrong with it.

  • Windows 7 will be not updated after clean install

    I recently acquired a Vista laptop that I improved with a SSD and Windows 7 Professional.  After installation without incident on a new SSD and activation, I discovered that Win7 does not refresh the console update continues just search for updates and the CPU activity revolves around 50%.  I've linked several fixes on this site and others with no luck.

    I'm not a PC expert, but I (FINALLY) know what caused this problem and how to solve it!  , But first of all note that this is the solution for my WINDOWS 7 64-bit Home Premium just after a clean installation.  I don't know if this plan works for 32-bit systems or other 7s to win, but novel with minor changes and some research...?

    The part of Windows 7 that search updates would normally take 24 to 48 hours to complete his research.  You can tell that you have this problem, while you are waiting for the update search by CTRL-ALT-DEL, start the Task Manager, then watch TAB PROCESS, then click: show processes from all users.  Look down the list until you find a SVCHOST. EXE running by the SYSTEM which uses 50% or more of CPU and a large piece (73%) of memory.  Then, go to the window Windows Update of the control panel and it say to never look updates.  Then return to the Task Manager and KILL the big 50% fat process that you just found.

    MS produced a patch (patches of 2 k) that you can't normally without an update.  There is a way to download these files from 2 k, but then...

    You cannot install them normally without using WUSA (the stand-alone installation of Windows Update program).  And if you try to use it to install the patches, WUSA must begin a new search for 48 hours for updates before installing anything.  It is a circular trap!

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=50023

    Use the registration option, DO NOT RUN IT!

    Look for these two files in your DOWNLOADS folder.  Copy them to your DESKTOP.

    Now to install them, you must use the stand-alone Installer, WUSA, BUT you must FORCE IT to do quite simply without looking for always.  Here's how:

    First of all, copy the following line exactly and completely:

    'C:\Users\Edmund\Desktop\windows6.1-kb3102810-x64.msu' /wuforce

    Click the start planet;

    Click in the search programs and files;

    Type: RUN

    (Make sure that you run as administrator)

    Click on the RACE to the top of the page, then right click on it and select PASTE;

    Replace Edmund regardless of your username;

    Press ENTER and let it roll.  After the installation is done, then...

    Copy the following line exactly:

    'C:\Users\Edmund\Desktop\windows6.1-kb3112343-x64.msu' /wuforce

    Click the start planet;

    Click in the search programs and files;

    Click on the RACE to the top of the page, then right click on it and select PASTE;

    Replace Edmund regardless of your username;

    Press ENTER and let roll again.  Once the installation is complete, RESTART your computer.

    You should now be able to install the updates in the control panel and search for updates.  10 minutes or less, you should have a huge list of KBs to download and install.

  • Printer wifi Windows 7 will install, but not print.

    Hello

    I have a problem with a previously working printer Lexmark Wifi and my laptop Lenovo. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my printer was backing in the print spooler after printing a single page. If I rebooted my laptop spooled printing will automatically display, and I am able to make an impression more (single page) before I have to restart again. I finally got fed up and removed the printer and recharged through the Add Printer Wizard. Now, I can't print at all. The printer is selected by default, not to display any errors when I run the troubleshooting, but test pages do not print. I tried to download the latest drivers from lexmark, deleting and reloading the printer through the wizard several times, reset between the two and nothing. We have a second laptop with windows vista connected to the printer, and it has no problem printing. It has been implemented in this way for several years, without much trouble.

    You can try to uninstall the software using this tool and then put it back.
