  • Flashing of the program windows with the message "not responding".

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise and have experienced a problem with the flashing/flickering program windows since the installation of the program. It tends to happen more, when some programs take up a lot of memory, be several excellent windows, photo editing with GIMP 2.0 program or several tab navigation in internet. The flicker can be short, but it arrived to keep it constantly. I don't know exactly, what induces it. It might have something to do with the mouse hovering over the taskbar, as the flickering tends to start when a new window will be selected. A form any of it also occurs when you type in a cell in MS Excel: I start to type in the window of a single program and finish the word in another.
There are two options in the forums. One more course includes the passage off Windows Desktop Manager service. I tried and it seems to work. However, windows aero is off then.
The other includes mingle with the registers in accordance with the following statement: http://www.webtlk.com/2009/06/02/how-to-fix-screen-flash-in-windows-7/. What I've avoided trying because the computer is not mine.

So, what is the solution? This flickering is not only a cosmetic problem. In one occasion, he can freeze a program and a lot of time and also some work may be lost.

    Hi Lauri

    Sorry for the delay. :(

You mentioned 1.5 GB of RAM, even if it is higher than the minimum requirement of 1 GB, it is weak to implement features like the Aero interface. Aero is very graphic intensive and can consume a lot of memory.

16% of free RAM is an ambiguous number. Although you have 1.5 GB, you don't have that much physical memory available. You can check this by using resource monitor.

Press the Windows Logo + R.

In the Run dialog box, type resource.exe, and then press OK.

Select the memory tab. A nice GUI appears in the physical memory section.

An important point is the reserved physical memory. It's the memory that the computer BIOS material reserves for some hardware on the system (the installed graphics device usually consumes the biggest part). This amount of physical memory is not available for use by the system. If deduct you the number of installed RAM and then rerun your test of memory usage of crete, you will get a true number for 16%.

Tip: you can hover over any element in the physical memory section and a description of the pop-up window for this item.

In regards to windows offering a caveat when system resources are low, as I said before, this is what the State does not is all about. When a program is started or the memory is too low for a running program to respond timely is when you see this State does not reply and flashing that you described.

    What you can do.

    1. increase the memory by installing more physical RAM.

    2. check the virtual memory settings. Open the Control Panel/System/Advanced tab control. In the performance section, click on Settings / Advanced tab, make sure that the programs are selected in the processor scheduling section.

In the virtual memory section, click the Edit button. Select the system drive and click System managed size. This will allow Windows allocate virtual memory if necessary.

    3. open the Control Panel control/troubleshooting. In the system and security section, click check for performance issues. Follow the steps in the resolution of the problems.

Make sure you run the Maintenance options as described in.

    Hi samira.

Is one of the best ways that you can improve the performance of your PC by optimizing the hard disk. Windows includes features to help optimize the different types of readers who use PCs today. Any player from your PC uses, Windows automatically selects the optimization that is suitable for your car.

Be default, optimize disks, previously called Disk Defragmenter, runs automatically on a weekly schedule. But you can also manually optimize disks on your PC.

Method 1: Perform the steps from the link below and see if it works.

    Warning of Chkdsk.

Important: When running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive, then chkdsk attempts to repair this sector. If no data is available while data may be lost.

    Hello RichardBraz,

You must remove the virus from your computer before we continue to fix the problems with the desktop icons and programs.

I suggest you try a run the Scanner in safe mode of Microsoft. To access Safe Mode:
    (a) restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    (b) select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.
You will want to choose "Safe Mode with networking" If you need to connect to the internet or your network.
    (c) when the boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

    I hope this helps.

  • Program not responding Message

I visited a website Google identified as an "attack Page" and warned it could harm your pc. I descended and tried the site again a few days later with a different browser that does not give me the error message.

Now my Outlook is locking up and gives me an error message saying "the program does not ' and my only option is to shut down the computer manually.

I tried several viruses and spyware analyze programs and a few items have been cleaned, but the problem persists.

I tried to uninstall Outlook and then replace that seems to work, but I lost my contacts and many important emails.

A friend suggested that if Outlook is now stable that I could just import my contacts from my pst file corrupt which is where I think the problem lies. He said that if I have a worm it would be in the e-mails, but since I import me contacts only, it should be OK.

The idea seemed great, but guess what? I think I got my computer reinfected because "program is not responding" is back.

Someone at - it ideas? The attack Page Warning mentioned a virus "Blue alcohol" and a few others.

Someone at - it a program that can clean the virus blue alcohol or have other ideas of what I can do to restore my system?

It drives me crazy! I worked on my pc for 5 days now!

To check if the problem is actually caused by the virus, you can configure your computer to clean the start State and check if any third-party application is the cause. To configure your computer to clean boot follow the link below.

  • Windows 7 extends programs (not Widescren) 4:3 and 16:9 (wide screen)

Hello.  Whenever I have used programs like Virtual PC 2007, WinUAE, etc., Windows keeps stretching programs on the screen whenever I go into full screen mode and in the options of the Windows Control Panel of configuration for the resolution of my screen, or the card Intel graphics and Media Control Panel, there seems to be no option to keep these programs from 4:3 to 4:3 and add black bars to the left and to the right of the screen.  I'd appreciate strongly to help with this, because it's very horrible stretched to 16:9.  Thank you.

  • For two years, slow sending e-mail messages of deposit and Thunderbird? (10 of Windows). In addition, "not responding" in Thunderbird and Firefox

I use 10 64-bit Windows and again any time I send an email with Thunderbird, the program hangs when sending and storing a copy. I had this problem for more than two years. Why the Mozilla team did not something to fix this problem? I found support from several years ago questions, talk about the same issue.

Lifting is Thunderbird querying your Domain Name Services (DNS) on your computer IP address of the mail server. This information is cached locally, but it is a Web server, it comes to the same thing that happens when you type goggle.com in the web browser address bar.

If you anti virus does not behave correctly. Or your DNS server is a slug, things are going slowly. Interestingly, google will probably always go fast, as their information cached a time To Live (TTL) is looked at once it could ve quite some time before the cached information goes stale. E-mail server often have very short TTL, so I have to be looked up almost every time they are used. If you have security software which cleans this DNS cache automatically, or prevents it existing in the first place. Then your internet connection will generally be slower.

One thing you might try is changing your DNS server computers (most likely your ISP Googles 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 not I have no idea what operating system you are using. I suggest you google how to change DNS servers.

The connection is where your anti virus is in the way. In some cases completely divert the connection and suitor to Thunderbird that Anti virus IS the remote server in a man in the middle of the hack.

However a month ago asking you why Firefox is excruciatingly slow. You seem to have abandoned this question. Was it because you were asked to do something for you diagnose the problem?

Around the same time, you asked about Thunderbird. I took a guess, even if it's an unintelligible question. No response from you. A I've hit the mark or not you again lost interest because the answer did not suit you?

You seem to have much the same questions again and again. It is likely that your anti virus is the primary cause of most of them.
