Windows can't detect second screen

Last night I took off Dell Inspiron 5000 of docking station to go mobile. When I reconnected it is no longer detects my second screen. I have power on and power off screen and laptop. I checked all the connections.

When I turned off the screen, I hear the sound of a device connection / disconnection, but through the control panel and display I detect only 1 screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Never mind

I just powered resolved power on and off the problem of the docking station.

Thank you

  • Can't join a homegroup error "Windows can't detect a homegroup on this network."

    Original title: Cannot join a homegroup

    I have 4 PCs in my Home Network, called "IqbalHome". Two of them are desktop computers (both are a Dell Optiplex 760 with Windows 8 Enterprise) and two of them are laptops (Dell N4050 with Windows 8 Enterprise and HP Pavilion with Windows 8 Enterprise g4). All windows are updated and activated.
    Now, my Homegoup is running on Dell N4050 with Windows 8 enterprise and other computers have joined it with success, but when I try to join my new G4 HP Pavilion, it takes 4-5 minutes in the treatment and then says that "Windows can't detect a homegroup on this network. To create a new Homegroup click OK and open homegroup in Control Panel. ', and I can't even open its resources from the 'network' in my computer.
    I checked the 'advanced settings sharing' of 'Network and sharing Center' in the control panel and both have the same settings and connected to the network as a private network wireless. I tried all solutions here are http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/homegroup-problems-in-windows, but could not get this to work.
    These are the network settings for computers:
    (1) connected to the Tenda W150D WiFi and ADSL modem
    (2) HP Pavilion has "192.168.0.4" IP and Dell N4050 "192.168.0.50' with the same mask subnet, gateway and DNS.
    (3) advanced sharing settings are the same.
    (4) network discovery is running and all the services are great too.
    (5) HP with 192.168.0.4 can get ping 192.168.0.50 in 2-3 ms, but when I try to go through the network, it is said, 'Path network not found' and when I diagnose the problem, he said, "the remote device or resource accepts the connection".
    The confusing thing is that I can still access the Dell N4050 on other computers and use its shared resources, but the problem is only with HP Pavilion. I really don't like Windows to do this and I'm planning to switch to Linux as Windows is not a developer friendly environment, there are a lot of annoying things in it.
    Any kind of help will be really appreciated.

    Hello

    Did you make any changes before the show?

    Method 1:

    Temporarily disable the software antivirus (and any other security software) and the firewall on the computer as a test and check if this solves the problem follow the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

    If disabling the antivirus software solves the problem, you may need to configure the settings of the antivirus as a result program.

    Note: make sure that you enable the antivirus software, other security and firewall programs.

    Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

    I suggest you go through the links and check.

  • I have a second window open on a second screen, and I want to keep constantly active.

    Currently, if I click on something else, IE Skype on my laptop, the second screen goes idle and narrows mode full screen.  How can I stop this from happening?

    Hello

    If you make reference to the window becomes inactive then this is normal because at some point, there may be only one window that could be highlighted and which would be not active.

    However, you can publish your comments for us on the link below.

  • window appears on the extended screen, but the screen isn't there anymore so can't get to the window (2nd screen on laptop is only when it is connected to the desktop)

    Hi... interesting problem. I use my laptop computer on a desk with a second screen and moving.

    The last time I was using my laptop on the desk, I brought an application (Quicken) on the second screen and now when I start it up it displays on-screen extended even if I use the standalone laptop. I can't demand because it appears in the second screen and I can't get it back to the main screen. I even rebooted and it seems to 'remember' where is was the last time.

    Any thoughts on how to get it back (I know I can reconnect the second screen and move it back, but what about the time when I'm not near my office and want to access an application that was last used on the extended screen.)

    Argh...

    Thanks for your thoughts, I assume that there is a simple key sequence to make it visible on the main screen once I can't find it anywhere.

    Kind regards
    Lex Gitter

    Very late reply, I have the same problem and I solve it hovering over the window you want in the taskbar when the preview window displays a right-click on it.  Select optimize.  The window will appear on your screen.  No, you can enter the window and its size down, it stays on the current view

  • How to push the second screen?

    Hello

    I am writing an application in which I'm trying to push a second display to a custom in the first menu item. The first screen is pushed successfully and the custom menu items are filled with a bluetoothserialportlistener. Once I click on a special menu item, I want to launch the second screen. I used a dialog.alert to verify that the the menuitem run() method works, but the second screen is not displayed.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    The first screen is created by hand (String [] args)

    MatMain app = new MatMain();

    app.enterEventDispatcher ();

    private MatMain() {}

    pushScreen (new WelcomeScreen());

    }

    I tried to call the second screen as follows:

    synchronized (UiApplication.getEventLock ()) {

    getUiEngine () .pushScreen (new MatOnline (_info));

    }

    I also tried:

    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .pushScreen (new MatOnline (_info));

    Thanks again!

    Hello

    I think you're trying in a very complex way.

    Your architecture using complex and ignoring the bluetooth codes related, I can see your second screen with a minor modification.

    In your DeviceMenuItem class.

    replaced

    MatMain.getUiApplication () .pushScreen (new MatOnline (_info));

    with

    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .pushScreen (new MatOnline (_info));

    And in your class MatOnline:

    replaced

    HorizontalFieldManager _fieldManagerOnline;
    with

    HorizontalFieldManager _fieldManagerOnline = new HorizontalFieldManager();

    If it worked before wiping the disc, then it is likely, you are missing a player specific to material not included in WIndows XP.  Log on to the gateway website and download the drivers for the chipset and network.  Naturally, you will need to use a wired network connection.

    In general, Gateway provides the drivers specific to the hardware on a recovery of the system partition, and they also provide a tool so you can burn data on CD/DVD restore.  Do you stil have this partition or did you remove it?

    Every time I buy a PC, I always download copies of the material of the web site of the vendor-specific drivers and keep them on a flash drive, so that they are available when I wipe a PC and reinstall.  I also do the recovery partition recovery disks.

    Hi guys,.

    I currently have a problem with my second monitor, I installed the monitor (Acer G276HLA), it worked perfectly for about a month. Today, when I was working with SolidWorks, blue screen of death appeared 2 times and I have to restart my laptop. After the reboot, Windows does not detect my second monitor more, I tried my best but no luck, please me have this problems.

    I use an HDMI cable to connect the laptop and the screen...

    Best regards

    Personal laptop is limited to the installation of other equipment, graphic monitor (s) push resources. If ram memory

    is maximally, & the BIOS settings are set to a different monitor, Direct X updates, graphics software are updated, then

    We should be able to run a reg monitor... Chk, go in run or cmd, type: DXDIAG run Direct X.

    Also, the BIOS settings are critical, uninstall the default, add new ones.

  • CTRL-Alt-2 moves to the second screen windows - how to disable

    Hello

    I have a new computer to dual screen in Windows 8.  When I do Ctrl + Alt + 2, my current window is moved to the screen 2 (and equivalent to 1).  Does anyone know if it is a shortcut of Windows 8 or another utility?  I have a nVidia graphics card and the 7200LE Panel is not shortcut (besides the stereoscopic 3D features that are disabled).

    The problem is that Windows seems to treat the key ALT GR (right Alt key for the keyboard layout of the French-Canada) as a combination of Ctrl + Alt, then when I press Alt Gr + 2 to type the symbol @, my window also moves to the second screen.  The equivalent problem is when I type the ± symbol (AltGr + 1 gives my character, and move the window), but this isn't as big a problem.

    Anyway, if anyone knows how to disable the Ctrl + Alt + 2 sets of shortcuts, or how to make windows treat differently the keys Ctrl + Alt, AltGr do let me know.

    Thank you
    IM

    I had the same problem, and in my case it was a third-party application that came with a USB to DVI adapter.

    The utility is called "MCTDUtil.exe" and is in "\Program Files".

    It has a visible icon called "Super Utility".  There, you have a menu called "Multi Display Control Panel".  The Ctrl-Alt-1 and Ctrl-Alt-2 are mapped to do exactly this: move the window being displayed 1 and 2 respectively.  You can disable the feature of this Panel.

    I suspect that this utility is not necessary and can be removed.

  • Can you get the screen is on-air on the classic to display on a second screen?

    OK long shot and I think that I I already know the answer is no, but here's what I want to do:

    I will be installing an iPod interface to my OEM car stereo, with control of load and playback via the car stereo/CD changer port. -No info on track return to the display of the car in this solution.

    The ideal solution is to hide the iPod in the armrest, run a video of small groups of power for a 4.3 "TFT LCD that I also use for a backup camera (two screens of entry)

    Ideally this second screen would display the same "screen is on the air than the iPod as well as works of art news and artist of the normal Beach/album.

    I'm very technically competent and capable of doing custom wiring, but I'm after a bit of feasibility info!

    Doubtful, although probably not impossible given enough skill and technical expertise.    But the iPod is not in a usable state easily; the case would open with fortune son hanging out of him.

    You can transmit a composite video signal on the dock, use connector of this

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MC748AM/A/Apple-Composite-AV-cable

    but it is to show a video or a slide show, do not for the mirroring of what is on the screen of the iPod.
