Windows cannot recognize the word Open Office document
I downloaded the open Office Word and tried to print a letter. The computer on which I typed has no access to a printer, if I put the infro on a USB key, took to work and plugged into the desktop computer so I could print there. I kept getting error messages that Windows could not recognize the program and that he could not open it. When I tried to use internet to get the file for Windows extension to open it I only got was Web sites who asked me to pay for all these programs or to open the office and download the entire program on the desktop computer. That wasn't going to happen. Is it possible to find an easy to recognize answer open office on windows, so I can download the letters and print them?
Install Open Office on the computer that you want to read/print the file.
Or ask Open Office Forums here, because it is NOT a Vista problem: http://www.oooforum.org/
Try a Word Viewer.

Windows cannot recognize the printer after the print job is canceled
When I installed my printer Epson XP - 410 on my laptop Windows 7, the installation of program established three identical icons in the box "Show hidden icons" system tray, a 'Epson XP-410 series named' and others adding "(Copy 1) and (copy 2) that." It was not critical until today when I ran in the paper and cancelled the print job. Now rather than see the icon for XP - 410 as before, Windows Live Photo Gallery is only to see the icon (copy 2) and the properties of the printer selection under print settings is looking for a printer that does not exist, say is not ready, showing without ink, etc.. Anyone know how I can get Windows to recognize the printer that is there instead of look for one that is not there? I tried to customize under Show hidden icons, but when I change the status of the any icons, they change all three at once. Any help would be so appreciated...

Hi Robert,.
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.
- What is the exact error message you get when you give the print command?
- You have related driver printer disks to install the printer?
The question may arise if the package of printer from the printer model driver is either not installed correctly or has been corrupted.
In order to diagnose and solve the problem, I would say, try the following methods and check if the problem persists.
Method 1:
Run the printer Troubleshooter and check if that helps. He made sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.
Open the printer Troubleshooter
If the problem persists, try the following method.
Method 2:
Try to uninstall and reinstall the last full have printer drivers and check if the problem persists.
Step 1: Uninstall the printer drivers installed in the system
- Open programs and features, click Start > Control Panel > programs and features.
- Find and select Epson printer drivers in the list of programs.
- Click Uninstall and follow the instructions on the screen.
- Reboot your system.
Step 2: Reinstall the printer drivers
Reinstall the latest drivers at the following link that is compatible with Windows 7.
Additional information:
Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.
Hi John - thank you for your response. For the benefit of someone else who has this problem, I was able to perform a miracle. Went to Start - devices and printers, found three printers instead of one year, removed the two copies and who has also removed the two unwanted icons in the systray. Now, everything's fine. Hope this helps someone. Thank you, Christian...

Windows Mail won't open Office documents
I'm looking through the various fixes for it but none works for me, the main reason being that I can not save the file. When I try and open an Excel file from Windows Mail, nothing happens. I right click to save money, but save it under the bar says type "attachment (*.)" *)"and no .xls. I click on save and get the message "the command cannot be run." It also doesn't let me print.
It is a very recent problem that I can't seem to get a fix for. A suggestion made online, I got Microsoft Office but the problem persists. Can someone please help me because I really need to be able to open Excel documents to work on it and return the people.Your help would be very appreciated.Hello

XP host and client windows 7 on ad - hoc network...Dear friends, I have set up an ad hoc network between two laptops. The host is running on xp sp3 and the client is running windows 7.Now the problem is that if I enable security on the network, the client windows 7 cannot recognize the network at all.If I turn off security on the network ad-hoc, everything works fine and I can share files and access the internet on client... Please help
Ok
Now, I'm pretty sure that I understand your game up. Well done to get the internet connection, sharing of work (not a simple process) but without encryption.
I am sure that the problem lies in the Windows 7 laptop (laptop 2). When you switch cell 1 to WEP, you must also pass portable 2 to WEP and provide the WEP key you have configured with laptop 1.
It's getting late here now, but I'll try to answer tomorrow after I have test it on my two laptops to Windows 7. In the meantime maybe I can point you in the right direction...
- Right-click the the small icon at the bottom right of your screen on laptop network 2 and then click on Open Network and Sharing Center
- In network and sharing Center, click on manage networks wireless (nearby at the top left)
- Click Add, and follow the wizard to create an ad hoc network, selecting WEP and providing the encryption key you configured on the notebook 1
- Save the network so that you do not have to repeat this procedure.
Otherwise, when you get to manage wireless networks, if your ad hoc network is already listed...
- Right-click in your ad hoc network, and then click Properties
- Click the Security tab
- Change it to WEP and provide the encryption key
- Click OK
Good luck, I will pick up this new after my drowsiness.

Hello!
So I'm at the end of my rope with this one... it lasts for months, and I keep revisitng every two weeks to try and fix that and every time to be completely frustrated. I found this forum tonight, so here goes...We downloaded a few games on the HP Games Web site. We download them and everything works fine. Then, we will open the games and this pop up error message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. These games used to run fine, and I have no idea why they now have problems. We have a Vista operating system, 1 account who is the administrator, the Parental control is disabled (or if we believe).
If anyone can please help it would be much appreciated! We have a monthly membership to this site of game and continue to accumulate credits, but may not use it. It makes us crazy!
Thank you in advance!
Hello Heathie,
Thank you for posting. It seems that the program is no longer on your computer. This can happen if the game files are deleted, but the game itself has not been uninstalled correctly. I recommend you to download the game again to a location on your computer where you can easily find and install it. This should fix the problem.
Please let me know if this helps you.

Windows cannot find the program to open the exe file
I did the windows repair option by restarting then pressed f8 to get to come repair options. I did it to try to remove a number of problems of virus on my laptop. It seems that it has solved the problem, but now when I try to access one of my desktop icon shortcuts it indicates that windows cannot find the program to open the exe file. She does it with every shortcut. I can access the location of the program and then select open with and it will be opened in this way, but there is not and I have to select each time. Another option that works is a right-click on the icon and selecting 'start' and who will run the program properly. Other than simply double-click the icons automatically no longer works since I did this repair.
Windows Startup Repair fixed my problem, but now my desktop icons not properly opens with double-click
