The most common causes of this problem are:

  • An inconsistency in the store of Windows services. Maintenance of Windows store is a feature that is required to install the service packs.

  • A program on your computer, such as an antivirus or antispyware, interferes with the installation of the service pack.

  • Speaker not working after installation of Service Pack 1 of Vista.

I have been under Vista Home Premium on my laptop for about 2 years, but have only now went on the internet with it.  I did the updates of windows, including Service Pack 1.  Now the speaker on the laptop does not work.  If I put the mouse on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the office, he said that no audio output device is installed.

Before I installed the SP1 download, I have my favorites of a link to the Microsoft page saying that this problem can occur.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936330

This led to an application download of Mr. Fixit I read to mean he could diagnose and fix the problem.  All she could say is that there is no audio output device installed.

So, is it a driver problem caused by Mr. Vista SP1 from Microsoft?  Or what it is - this?  (I was quite civilized with the language that I used here - I would like to meet face to face!)

Seriously, I hope someone can help me here please.  I'm not one of the younger people really in place with computers, but I'm not totally computer illiterate either.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi, I'm back!

Problem seems to be solved - speaker is back!

I just made a couple more windows updates that require a reboot.  To my surprise and my greatest pleasure, I heard the sound of Windows in the process.  It may not have been restarted because I updated Vista with Service Pack 1 yesterday and there is no sound when I started the laptop today.  Perhaps the latest updates is done.

    See you soon,.

  • Audio Acer 5520g does not work after the new service pack

I installed XP and is up-to-date. However, when a new service pack arrives, it destroyed the Realtech driver that I downloaded from the Acer support site.

One way to recover is to do a scan complete antivirus C drive.

Second method is to remove the speakers from the Device Manager, install the Realtech driver after the service pack update.

The question I have now is that the latest SP crushed the audio driver again.

Restore restore previous point never works on this or any other question, I've had with windows no matter what...

All previous options have failed now.

    Any help appricated.

Download the "RealTek" directly from RealTek driver. ;-)

    Hello

    1. how you try to install Service Pack 2?
    2. are you able to boot to the desktop?

    Method:
Step 1: If you are able to start the computer in normal mode, then try a clean boot.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • After installation of Service Pack 1 for Vista 64 bits, Windows Security says Malware and firewalls are off.

I recently reinstalled my copy of Vista 64 bit I hope to solve this problem that has been with me for a while.  Before I wiped and reloaded, Security Center Windows would alert me every day that my firewall protection and malware have been disabled.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security, which is fully updated and works as it should.  I am able to activate Windows Firewall and bypass the firewall Kaspersky and that error to go away, however, I can't remove the error of malicious software.  I got all these errors directly after a restart after the installation of service pack 1.

Under Windows Security Center it says, "Kaspersky Internet Security reports that it is turned off," under the heading for malware protection.  When I click on the button to activate under Windows Security, it goes through the steps who say do you trust this program, Yes, Yes, ok.  After choosing all the options of trust Kaspersky and activate this protection, he thinks about it a little, but always returned and said it's off.  It also has a green light saying that Windows Defender is actively protecting your computer.

I think that my Internet Security Suite is successfully active in these areas and work I checked the menu, check that they work.  In my opinion, after installation of service pack 1 that something I have messed up in the statement that those programs are active or really uninstalled them.

Even if I can get the only message that the Kaspersky firewall is disabled to disappear by enabling the Windows Firewall, which is not yet as I want.  I want the suite of internet security that I paid to be active and functional on the side of the Windows security features.

I would appreciate any help with this problem by addressing why he continues to warn me that my protection malware and firewalls are disabled.  Thank you.

Also install Windows Vista SP2 this problem could be solved, otherwise try to uninstall and reinstall Kaspersky and also, try to get the latest version of Kaspersky.

If still the same issue please contact Kaspersky support.

  • Not able to boot up normally after installation of Service Pack 3.

Original title: I am trying to download Windowes XP SP3.

I am trying to download Windowes XP SP3. After installation and reboot my computer only allows me to start in safe mode. It seems that I don't suystem for SP3. Also, in safe mode, it says I can solve problems by going to the Control Panel, but does not give any other direction on what to fix.

    Hi TimWaldal,

What is the exact error message that you receive in safe mode?

It seems that Service Pack 3 is not installed correctly.

    (a) that you try to run the system restore from safe mode that will repair return the computer to the point while it was working fine.

  • Portege R830 - Windows does not start after I have install Comodo Firewall

    Good afternoon

I bought today a Portege R830, and after the Windows configuration, the first program that I installed was the popular free Comodo Firewall. After that I restarted, Windows 7 unbootable. It would be stuck on the user login screen and I know it's a problem with the firewall because if I do a system restore to the restore point created by Setup of firewall, windows restarts.

So I ask if there is any inconsistency between the firewall and software on the Toshiba. A that someone already had this problem? I tried to solve this problem throughout the day with no results. I even re-installed Windows 7 using the Toshiba Recovery and the problem persists. I really like the Comodo and I want this firewall on my laptop, but Windows does not just start!

    Any help would be apreciated.

    Hi jillefsky,.

Have you disabled the Windows Firewall before you start with the installation of Comodo Firewall? As far as I know, Portege R830 is delivered with preinstalled McAfee security software and you must remove this program before you install other security tools.

Generally this has nothing to do with Toshiba and it s advisable to contact Comodo directly. They may know about this so they can give you a proper answer.

But I put t understand why this program is so important to you. Windows already has an internal firewall so that these programs are not necessary in my opinion. Just install a good antivirus like AntiVir and enable the automatic updates of Windows. All that s!

  • Adobe Premiere Elements does not open after installation

    Hello

I've written before last week. I bought Adobe Photoshop elements 11 and Adobe Premiere elements 11.

I had a trial version of Photoshop elements 11 and with the code I could access the full version.

However, Premiere Elements did not open after installation. I have a trial version, so I downloaded the full program. I went through the installation process and everything seemed ok, no error message. But when I tried to open Adobe Premiere Elements after you restart the computer, it did not open at all. Nothing happened.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the program for a couple of times over and over again, but no result. Also tried to download the free trial first, and also it does not work. I checked my Quicktime and updated to the latest version.

    I use a Windows laptop: Asus Intel Core i5 - 2430M, 2.4 GHz
I hope you can help me!

    Thank you!

  • Windows does not start after the update...

Hope someone can help with this,

I just installed the update sp1 for my computer for Windows Vista Premium Home dir all installed with no problems, but when I restarted my pc, Windows wouldn't start. The only thing that is on display is a black screen with Windows Error Recovery on top, then he said "Windows does not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I tried to restart it in different ways, but nothing. Then he said: I have to insert my OS drive to try to fix, but that's not even start. Everyone knows about this problem? This has happened right after that I installed the update...

    L.Butler,
Are you able to boot from your Vista DVD or recovery partion and run the Startup Repair tool?  If you do not have a Vista disc so make sure that your computer is configured to boot from the CD drive before booting from the hard drive.  Once you start with support for Vista select the "Repair your computer" option and first run "Startup Repair".  If that is not correct the problem then boot with Vista support and select the option "System Restore" and choose a date prior to the update install.
Once you are able to boot normally again, then I suggest that you are looking for virus\malware.  SP1 was released in April 2008.  So if you install earlier means there may be other problems on your system.  If you have a backup of your current personal data then I recommend to do a clean restore to install\factory.  Then immediately install antivirus software, and then do all Windows updates before installing other software.
