Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, even aid keeps crashing on Vista Ultimate 64 bit

I loaded Vista Ultimate x 64 and it starts fine, but when running if I use Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer or even the help option, it stops (the app not the operating system).

When I use IE7 it tires to access a URL, then says "Internet Explorer has stopped working".  When I click on the tab that says 'Find a solution online' or something to that effect, it can't find anything and shuts down.  I am able to browse websites with Firefox.

Also, when I download a 32-bit application as the cleaner _, he warns also an assertion error.  If I try again, it downloads and then I get the error:

ccsetup.exe is not an application Win32 valid Huh?  I run it on multiple CPUs 32 bit on other machines.  Y at - it something wrong with my Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit application.  I ran all the diagnostic tests and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the disks, or other materials.

Hi nt5engineer,

Thanks for posting on the Forum of responses of Vista.

Is this a beta version of Vista?
Your screenshot does not appear on here.
You can use a free host of images photo, most are free.

I've seen the same behavior in the past, but it is from a beta version of Vista.
No idea what software this might be:

'D:\longhorn\ds\securityproducts\...\dynami...ues.cpp '.

The file extension "CCP" seems to belong to the C++ developer files.
You do programming on this computer?

Impatience back on your part.

  • Why Windows Explorer applies LZW compression in my TIFF RGB 48-bit files?

    OS: WIndows 7 Pro 64-bit

Hardware: Intel Core i7-2600 with 8 GB of Ram

Scanning software: VueScan 64 - bit version 9.1.13

    Scanning: PlusTek 7600i

I scan color negatives and save them to TIFF with RGB 48-bit (16 bits per color).

The VueScan software correctly saves files without LZW compression LZW does work well with 16-bit "noisy" data-"LZW compression" frequently makes bigger files due to the large number of distinct values that must be added to the dictionary.

If I use Windows Explorer to change the Date to a file label, it modifies the indicator of Compression TIFF (uncompressed) of 1 to 5 (LZW compression) and applies the compression.  The file INCREASES in size by about 20% (of 95.6 MB to 115.8 MB).

Now, I understand that it could be argued that Explorer trying to make efficient use of space SO the compression made the smaller file, but what happens in reality is worse than before because the file takes MORE space AND the system now has the burden of "decompression" the file when it is opened.

Windows Explorer should NOT add compression of TIFF files (or files in my opinion) unless specifically requested to do so.

    Thank you

  • 26 of Firefox crashes out of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

No matter if I click on the red X, go to file-> exit or press Alt + F4 to exit Firefox under Windows Vista Ultimate 32 - bit. It almost always produces an error message that Firefox has stopped working.

I can't find how to post a JPEG Screenshot of the error here.

This will not occur under Windows XP Pro.

Otherwise, the browser works fine in a BONE.

Those are the two reports of the crash on Adobe Flash Player.

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • Disable protected mode in the plugin Flash (Flash 11.3 + on Windows Vista and later versions)
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

    Hello

I recently had a few frequent freezes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition, I think it's maybe the video card (ATI HD2600 mobility). I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Toshiba site, but it continues to, sometimes, when I'm playing games, the screen blinks for 5 seconds or more and then would become black, completely erased, but the background sound and everything still works well and I am able to shut down the PC by pressing the power button once and then restart it normally.

It's a minor problem, the major problem is the freezing point, it freezes completely without warning, but oddly enough, he freeze by practicing a game! But freezes on normal operations (internet, office, etc.). I did the tests, tests of HARD drive memory, all in good health, and worse, on the Windows Event Viewer could not detect any problem, simply says 'unexpected system shutdown.

    I'd appreciate help please.

    Thank you

Hi I do not know if this will help, but you've got service pack 1 installed on your laptop, as when I installed it on my desktop the first time it caused blue screen errors and gave me a lot of problems, including the error messages that seemed to come with applications, I opened and a boring IQRL driver equal or less than but could not work why and then ultimately , I had so many problems that I had to completely reformat my office and I removed my scanner XP and webcam (both had vista drivers) and when I reinstalled service pack 1, it was beautiful, if by any chance do you have anything attached to your XP laptop and vista drivers as these seemed to be what was causing my errors.

Also a question about your graphic card drivers, I have the same laptop as you and was looking for updates to the graphics driver and couldn't find them anywhere on the site, where did you find yours? I use Vista Home Premium 32 bit, my model number is A200-28 p (PSAE6) and I would like to know if there is a new graphics card driver but can not find on the basis of knowledge, so the fact you have updated your would be could you point a new user in the right direction :-)

    Thank you

I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and in order to install the internet security package, I need to install SP2. Belongs to this normal windows update or do I have to download it from Microsoft?

Windows Vista SP2 came out mid-2009.  You should have gotten a long time ago.

  • Try to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on Vista Ultimate 64-bit using the upgrade feature.

Trying to upgrade from Vista Ultimate 64-bit of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The installation of the programs continues to telling me to uninstall Trend Micro 2008. I never had 2008 on this computer. I didn't 2009 and upgraded to 2010, which is compatible with Windows 7. I uninstalled 2010, but the Windows 7 install program keeps telling me to uninstall Trend Micro Internet Security 2008. I used the uninstall of Trend Micro tool and also the Windows Installer Clean up. Still no luck. I've even went into the registry and remove any mention of Trend Micro. Still no luck. So, now what. I don't want to do a clean install. If I have to do, I'll stick with Vista. Looks at MAC ad is correct!

Problem solved by a tech Trend Micro, which ran to remove several tools then had me into Safe Mode to delete a folder in Documents and Settings above. I'm now running Windows 7. Thank you!

  • Can I do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on Vista Ultimate 32-bit upgrade. Installation file will not work. The error is described below.

The XPS 730 with Intel Q9450 computer yourself running Windows 7 64 bit? The details of performance show that it is capable of 64-bit. When I try to install Windows 7 pro 64-bit upgrade, the installer will not work. I get an error that reads:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows that you are running.

I'm currently running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Everything that I read on Microsoft and elsewhere says that you can go from Vista 32 bit to an operating system Windows 7 64-bit as long as you do the clean install. I'm that far away since I can't even run the installation.
Maybe nobody knows what could be the problem?

    Hi Hal K,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

If you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows. Similarly, if you run a 64-bit version of Windows, you can perform an upgrade to another 64-bit Windows version.

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows, and vice versa, you will need to back up your files and then perform a custom of the version of Windows you want to install installation.

  • Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit goes to a black screen after login. Completely insensitive.

I seem to have a problem similar but different enough to justify a new thread. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and after the connection, I get a black screen with a cursor that can move normally. However, it becomes more complicated as everyone else. Absolutely NO work of access keys at this point, ctrl-shift-esc, ctrl-alt-delete, windows-r, don't SHIFT five times, NOTHING that other threads have suggested. I can't do anything but restart the computer once it reaches that point.

This is where it gets weird. Regular Safe Mode actually works for me, but is not the Mode safe mode with networking. There has been absolutely no sign of difficulty with this computer before that. I already have Malwarebyte Anti-Malware, it has been updated yesterday. I checked for ntndis in the registry, nothing. I uninstalled my video drivers, now, I have to reinstall because it wasn't the problem. System Restore was only a restore point on March 1, which did nothing even though the computer was working fine, March 1. I do not have the Windows disc, I split the cost with a friend who's in Arizona that I know, and he has probably lost the drive now.

Please help, my office is useless like this. I'm on a laptop, and I have a 512 MB USB key, if something needs to be downloaded on the desktop.

    Seansnr

    Hi Seansnr,

First of all, if you buy a copy of Windows Vista OEM, make sure that the DVD is the company that allows a computer.  An OEM Dell DVD won't work on a HP or gateway and vice versa.

Personally, if I had to buy it I insist on a DVD and not from someone who says they can install for a fee, and then provide would not buy any media where you will need to re - install in the future.

You could also buy a copy of the sale at retail of Windows Vista, or order an OEM DVD from the manufacturer of your computer.  They can also provide one for a low cost, if it wasn't origionally came with the computer.

If you are interested in a copy retail, they may be ordered and even downloaded directly from Microsoft.

I have a Vista Ultimate 32 bit legtitimate, I've never used and I want to upgrade to a legitimate Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.  Is it possible to do it and how?

    John

During the transition from 32-bit to 64-bit, you must do a clean install.  You can transfer most of your settings via the windows Easy Transfer Wizard, but you will need to re - install all the applications.

You will have to take a chance and buy a DVD / a license on Amazon, eBay, etc.

  • Windows Update stopped working after the reactivation of Vista Ultimate 32 bit

Cloned hard drive bigger and replaced hard drive in your laptop. Everything worked fine until I was invited to reactivate Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit), I did over the phone. Now, Windows Update does not work - service is not active. Is this a known issue? Any suggestions to fix would be appreciated. Ran Malewarebytes, Turned off update automatic and then restarted (suggested in a forum), and tried to fix with installation disc, none of them worked again.

Five other updates have been installed with Windows Update Standalone install (an is not necessary for my system). This a better option than update mode without failure. Windows Update works now again.
