    Hello

You are able to install all other updates successfully?

Question: This problem can occur because the signatures of file for basic office files can be changed when the update is installed. If a third-party security program installed on the computer, on security programs may not have the correct updates to recognize the updated files of Internet Explorer and can block Internet Explorer to access the Internet.

    Follow these steps:

Method 2: Temporarily disable antivirus software and then try to install the update.
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: If this does not help, you can manually install the update.
    a. visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx
    (b) search by downloading the update (with the number of KB).
    c. save it on the desktop.

Thank you that worked for me even if I don't have to go to the Microsoft download website.  I checked the history of update and there were a few who failed to update.  He said there was updates had to wait to be downloaded so I clicked on that and then selected the updates, click on the bottom. • 7sp1 Windows update fails to find updates on 16 April

Since MS began distributing Windows 10 via the update service, the download section to update on my windows 7sp1 platforms has played like a slug taking refuge on a wet Sunday.  I have 2x64bit and 1x32bit system, systems every few years.  The configuration is to check the updates but let me choose whether to download and install.  Why that - too many items is bloat: why in Australia should I language or monetary fixes for afghanistan? I use no programs? and following.  Those I choose is the important/critical ones just for windows.

So far, the available updates are identified easily on and patch Tuesday and - since July 2015 – I have become used to / upset the performance of slow download of updates.  I have even delayed update of several days checking to avoid the crowd on that day.  So many users have complained of the it - on the web and quiet fumers x 10 who - that MS do NOT know: it is assumed that this is now what they want their company and product image major is.  Admittedly, this is not what MS committed to during the sale of the operating system for good money we paid for it.

But this month, Apr16, while updates on 64-bit platforms have been slow, as usual, the 32-bit platform could not - even identify that the updates are available 3 days after the release of the patch.  The updates Panel showed that the date of the last audit is the patch tuesday itself, no update is available at this time.  The PC has been used every day since then.  The result for the 64 bits of the PC it takes between 15 to 20 items to install.  But the machine has served it powered, sitting in the audit for the screen with the green bar slip updates for hours.  Power off to leave the House, turn and repeat.  3 times in total.  When I gave up and decided to make another complaint, this is always the case

    So my question is

is why windows update now - 3 days after the release of patch - not yet able to identify the updates required for a 32-bit platform?

Let's see if something has changed.

Restart your computer and wait 20 minutes for the system to operate before you download information. When the review much, not Event Viewer log files all problems show in the period immediately after the computer has booted.

Please provide a copy of your system information file. Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

HOW to do a clean install of Vista: section "If you want to reinstall Windows Vista by running a new installation...". "of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista#section_3

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) otherwise and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the trial for free and download/run the removal tool before installing updates, Windows Service Packs, or updates IE and before installing your new anti-virus application (which will require WinXP SP3 must be installed).

  • Error 0 x 80040609 during the installation of Windows Live Essentials 2011 update

Original title: update Windows guard default error 0 x 80040609

I came across this problem in the past, in this case, I was instructed on how to remove Windows Update and then reinstall it. Help

Windows Update guard invites me to install windows live essentials 2011 updated, then fails and re - install the original.

You can find support in this forum ONLY for the installing/uninstalling/upgrading to Windows Live Essentials 2011: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/wlinstall

You can install/upgrade to Windows Live Essentials 2011 manually via http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/essentials-home

  • Error 0 x 80040609 FAILS on the update of Messenger

Problem IS when you try to update Live Essentials 2011 it fails on the update COMPLETE and ALREADY INSTALLED options. Error 0 x 80040609 Messenger, Mail, photo gallery and Movie Maker, Writer. Tried many times and have contacted Microsoft before experts but is unresponsive. He goes so far then stops and restores to the original. Stops on Messenger. Download a program before that was supposed to tell you something, but it would not download this last time I tried. Without contact of experts to fix or tell me what to do. Assistance on the Forum is somewhat confusing, but one thing he says is to REMOVE the Messenger folder - seems a little extreme and won't mean I'm losing what data/information that is in there.

You can find support for the installation/uninstall/upgrade to Windows Live Essentials 2011 in this forum: http://windowslivehelp.com/forums.aspx?forumid=a372972e-8e7a-4d85-adc3-a1b43e8c02ec
