Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working and the Manager device raises the error code 43

Original title: Installation files

I need to know how to reinstall a corrupted file. It's only an individual file which gives me the problem. I don't want to reinstall the entire windows file just to retrieve a single file. The file is the file that controls the video card (rundll32.exe).

Hi Richstan06,

Step 1: Run the fixit available in the link below and check if that makes a difference

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/hardware_device_problems/en-us?EntryPoint=lightbox

Step 2: The computer in the boot and a test

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

If the problem persists, you can consult the documentation of the material for more information on diagnosing the problem.

    Hello

Rundll32.exe is a system file which loads the required files library (.dll) for a routine on request. From what you describe, it seems that the library file, you are trying to load to support the display of images is corrupted or damaged. Open a command prompt by typing CMD in the line of departure and search, then right click on the menu entry that appears and choose "Run as Administrator". Click on continue in the UAC prompt. From the command line, run:

    sfc/scannow

When done, exit the command prompt and restart the system normally. Then try to use all the measures you were doing that causes the error to appear. If it happens again, please post back with the exact text of the error (you can use the event viewer if it flashes too fast).

  • Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working

Is a general Vista problem and also a general problem of Thinkpad, but it has what I feel to be a frequency among the W500s so I thought to post it here.

In recent weeks, I got this error (Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working) several times. A lot of googleing will tell you that it can be caused by a number of things, for example other video programs, Nero burning software, video codecs and burning software and the ATI catalyst control center.

For me, uninstalling the ATI catalyst control center and the rest of the correction of the error of video card drivers. Resettlement has reduced. Uninstall them and then only by reinstalling the driver first, then check catalytic Center later after another reboot all reinstalled successfully and also got rid of the error.

However, two days ago I updated my lenovo Power Manager and after the next restart, I started getting this error again. I tried the trick with video drivers, but this time I was not so lucky. Uninstall them completely is not even get rid of the error. I think only it is the new power manager I uninstalled everything and somehow got rid of the error.

I'm about to reinstall the power manager and I hope he's not bring error.

Another thing, I found that can cause this error:

I'd just do a fresh install of vista and lenovo apps + Manager supply and everything worked. Since I never use the optical drive, I went to the Device Manager and disabled, which gave me the error Rundll32.exe about 60 seconds later, and this caused again Manager power to stop working, even after that it recharges.

I finally understand that disabling my optical drive Springs somehow this error on me which then also stops Power Manager. The optical drive from the reactivation got rid of the error immediately.

  • Windows host process Rundll32 has stopped working ONLY at startup on the desktop.

When I start my Dell Inspiron 531 after that sign in the screen will Dim twice for a few seconds then the Windows host process Rundll32 has stopped working window appears. If you close another small window exactly the same error message mentioned above tells you that Windows will look for a solution but NEVER done. I use AOL version 9.0, I can sign and the big surf for dial-up access. I tried to download free Kaspersky on their site and an error message said it was incomplete or corrupted. I have Windows Security Essentials, Stopzilla, CCleaner, Glary Utilities, you run sfc/scannow, it cleaned up a few files and he tells me that he has no integrity problem after 4 scans. The big short PC but what the _ is causing this Rundll32 error and why is there NO information specific on how to solve this problem? Also Internet Explorer cascades tiles and diverts the PC sometimes force a quick stop, it's really weird to see, very rare but happens. Systerac Fix of Windows crashes after starting an analysis on current user files, really strange, as if something is trying to stop him on purpose. I wish that Microsoft would really worry about the Rundll32 error of work ceased and tell us customers how to fix this shit it is very boring I'll tell you. I want that my host process Rundll32 to work as it did for the past 2 years with no error message at startup. He never gives me these messages while I use the Internet. There are many pages of misinformation out there, can some Microsoft Engineer please give me that a definitive answer in particular to the Windows host process Rundll32 has ceased to function the error at startup ONLY and tell me how to fix Rundll32 file or the process, it would be greatly appreciated? Thank you. Woman

  • SE error windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working on Windows Vista

    Original title: (Rundll32)

Need help fixing this problem microsoft windows popup message, process host windows (Rundll32) has stopped working.

    Hello

    1. When you get this error message?
    2. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, if the question does not persist then perform the clean boot and check if the problem resolves.

Step 1: safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts

Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Hope this information helps.
  • THE "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and "Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working" messages, can't do ANYTHING!

I looked for answers to this problem, and while some deal with similar aspects, none were completely relevant. Step by step, is what happened:

I downloaded Haali Matroska Splitter since the first result in Google, open the zipper and it ran, if I even got that far. Since that time I have been see two posts above, constantly. I turned the computer on and it persists as soon as it started. I can't access 'msconfig', or other programs that could help because apparently everything works through Windows Explorer. I'm currently looking 29 Admail without loading boxes "restart Windows" on the laptop in question, while writing this to another. Please help, as I am a complete no-hoper to a compliacted question. I would be grateful you're not assuming that I know anything about technique and describing all the solutions in a progressive manner. Thanks a lot people.

I used a system restore and everything seems OK. Wish I had known that earlier would have saved a lot of headaches.

  • After 5 minutes, I get a message "Windows host process for Services stopped working and was closed"

I get this message on my Vista Home Premium SP2 system.  I installed SP2, last week when it first came out and this message began today after the reboot.  I rebooted 5 times and I still get this message after 5 or 6 minutes.  I did the reboot after the installation of Microsoft Patch KB911895.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Use his computer to boot. Disable all third party applications start to rule out the possibility to be a software problem.

Your computer may run out of updates that can help improve its stability and security.

Go online to search for and install the Important updates and recommended.

    1. Click here to access the Windows Update Web site online

    2. In the left pane, click check for updates. If updates are found, click view available updates.

    3. Select all important updates and then click install. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Windows process (Rundll32) has stopped working

Do you find it at the start of the computer / when you open a session? If so, consider using Sysinternals Autoruns to disable the rundll32 entries. Then add one at the time and reboot, back them up until you reproduce the problem. The last of them on would seem to be the problem.  You can find more far away.

    Also consider anti-malware analysis.

The only effective solution is to reset the file preferences... it has been damaged by trying to create a catalog with the invalid jpeg.

The instructions to reset the catalog are here: given to zero (or "Screw up") the preferences of Lightroom - Lightroom Forums file

When you have done this, place you and double click on the correct catalog and LR should then start OK.
