  Hello

  I have a bunch of Hi8 tapes I want to capture on the drive by running through Sony CCD-TR400 on the Canon HV - 20 MBPro & FCP 7.

  I can see the execution in the window capture, but when I hit capture now it gets no further than "Waiting for time code."

  I guess the Hi8 analog, but hoped the Canon with its AV > DV option would treat his way through.

  Any ideas?

  Is the only way to do this would save on tape dv on Canon HV-20 and then capture the disk?

  Hi8 uses only consumer re-writable (CCFC) timecode that is not readable by the PCF.  In the FCP capture settings, set "Device Control" device not controllable and then use Capture now capture rather than in batches.

• Some newbie need help to display the Properties window

  I am writing this issue on behalf of another Member of our association, which does not much English. We bought him Final Cut Pro X, so that he can learn a few video do, and he is very enthusiastic about it. We first had a try of FCP X, and then we bought and installed the version full (10.2.3). He is still learning the basics, and today he said he can not find the property field in the upper right corner that he used in the trial version.   Apparently, the Properties window does not appear when he wrote a large '3D text' on a purple background.   I used to be able to import XDCAM clips in Final Cut, but not more. I use a PMW - 350K camera, recording on SxS cards I use also the Sony SxS, model SBAC-US10 card reader.

  Over the years, enter the clips in FCP was not a problem. I'm still able to call them, read, view and play all clips in a browser or in the transfer. I can (and have) all my clips recorded from the card in my PowerMac, i.e. the BPAV shell.

  There was a time where FCP sequence name appears at the bottom of the page in a transfer software, and import clips in this sequence (bin) is automatic. The sequence shows is more than once.

  Similarly, FCP, I select FILE > IMPORT > SONY XDCAM and nothing happens... no windows appear... nothing.

  I also made sure sequencing coincide exactly with the settings of my clips... no joy.

  Sometimes I managed to select all the clips as shown in the transfer, select Import, and all what it is to create new individual images from the video, which must be sold off individually... pain. (probably the wrong thing to do when even because I can't seem to make the destination of the CPF)

  So, I have a few footge I have to change as soon as POSSIBLE and can not enter clips in final cut PRO for editing.

  I've been on the Sony download site, but I am "very confused on what I need to download. I heard that the new navigation software does disappear 'Transfer', but I don't know if this applies to operations 'inherited' as I (as opposed to the FCP X).

  I can probably understand this, but only if I have software/drivers that still work.

  I would be very happy to help and advice; also help over the phone would be great too!

  Never mind; got, it works.

  I upgraded XDCAM transfer of version 2.12 version 2.13... seems to work fine now.

• No sound window canvas

  As a first step, I would get a beep and a flash when I tried to read my project in the canvas window. Then I learned to use real-time, so I wouldn't have to be returned until the end. Now I get video to play in the Web but no noise at all including (sound which is present in the original video clip) and sounds of an mp3 file that I added in the timeline. No noise even if the video and audio tapes are showing in the timeline, and even though the sound will play in the Viewer window. All tracks in the Timeline are also activated by green. I have no choice but to go and wait and then perhaps discover that my time in the added noise is not synchronized with the video?

  I used iMovie HD with good success, but iMovie degrades my video output to a large extent, that's why I invested in Final Cut Express.

  Audio with FCP X should ideally be @48 kHz .aiff files.

  Try converting the audio and try again.

• SONY AX33 COMPATIBILITY ISSUE WITH FCP 10.2.3?

  We had read that Sony's XAVCs codec is compatible with FCP X since version 10.2. So we bought a couple of cameras Sony-FDR-AX33 for our company (short films shot in 1080 p). So this morning I tested one of them, fill a 64 GB card with continuous footage from my office window. He gave me 2.5 hours of 1080 p video.

  Now, if I navigate on the map from a recent MacPro desktop, I can open the file with QuickTime and read it. But if I try to import into FCP X, it fails. Nothing happens. It's like talking to my cat. I went on the Web and read a few comments. As it seems, anyone recommend commercial software of Brorsoft so that the file converted to Apple ProRes 422. UM! In the case of my file, it takes well over 2 hours to do the work with the application of fast converter we use here, Miro.

  I have three simple questions:

  1 can FCP X 10.2.3 import DIRECTLY a long hrs 2.5 blessed with XAVCs codec 1080 p?

  2-if it can, what I am doing wrong?

  3 and if she can't, why Apple says it can?

  I have the Sony FDR-AX100 that pulls in the same codecs as your Sony FDR-AX33 XAVCS.  I imported many clips of my RAD-AX100 in FCP X, but I do not try and import them directly from the card of the camera.  I use the software to play the memories of (free) Sony to transfer clips from my AX100 on my hard drive.  I then use the FCP to import the. MP4 files on the hard disk in FCP X.  There is no conversion of files involved in this workflow, and I have never had no problems using this workflow with FCP X and my Sony FDR-AX100. • all of a sudden I can't add images pro go to my fcp schedule.  I did it in the past. using the same equipment... has changed a parameter? How can I return to the addition of the sequence of gp without converting them?

  Once a year, we build a loop to show out of our images. I use the same camera, go pro, same computer, same fcp, BUT this year it won't let me add the pro images go on my calendar to my G-Drive.  I tried to convert it and even if it works... it is very time consuming and frustrating because it was so easy in the past.  ANY IDEAS on if I have accidentally changed a setting on FCP? or on my GP PRO? I read that you have to convert, but why I did not in the past?

  What happens when you try to import the clips? You get an error message? The files are selectable in the import window?

  If you want to try another software, I know that works I used it up until cisco came out with a 64-bit client there. Is the 64-bit version of shrew 2.1.0 it worked very well, you will just need your file FCP of cisco for import into if you have. This will tell you if the client or your system at least.

  I'm a new convert to the FCP 7 PP, which had a "recent videos" drop-down list at the bottom of the source window.

• FCP XML import with DNxHD sequence

  My latest tests shows that 2015.2 body does not interpret the settings XML FCP right when the original value DNxHD sequence (FullHD 1920 x 1080, 25i, square pixels, all the standard parameters in the hemisphere of 50 Hertz - tested with XML v1 to v4). DNx becomes rather XDCAM 1080 p with 1.33 NORMAL during the import. Duh.

  When you export a first sequence with settings DNx (Windows), its parameters are altered in ProRes 422 (and re-importing, he becomes DNx).

  Issues related to the:

  (1) is this correct behavior and consistent?

  (2) is this consistent behavior on Windows AND Mac, or an organization on a Mac (since it can encode video ProRes) will pass the sequence in ProRes instead of DNx?

  My goal is to have a coherent method to import a project with sequences that are correctly resolved on DNx, whether i or p, on both Windows and Mac computers.

She highlighted the files on the window of Premiere Pro and click on delete. She then tried to repeat the move but this time, the program could not read the file type extension. One of our Publisher checked raw materials of the external hds but unfortunately the files is no longer there. Our question is how it happened because according to her, there is no prompt that it will be deleted in the external source files. Please help so that we can avoid it in the future.   First does not remove the files. The option to delete files from the hard drive only appears when you perform offline files in the first project window.

  I ran the uninstaller and the cleaning tool. All I get is the icon on the top of the menu bar and when I click it I have no option available to download any software.

  I had to re install OSX yesterday, not a migration assistant, but the creative cloud is not installed. I deleted all the files adobe, that I could find and nothing. I have re booted the computer after uninstalling and nothing. I need to install Premiere Pro today, I'm in a production company with projects that need to be delivered.

  I had to reinstall Yosemite from scratch and the creative cloud now works.

  Wonder first cannot import PNG files, it's like buying a desktop computer without a mouse and a keyboard.

  I wish I could go back to FCP 7. First opportunity to be a great software in early 2000, I do not recognize what is this software pretentious that I use now.

  Huh. Well dang-nabbit... wonder if your keyboard shopping list you have something has changed or that say FCP or something? CTRL/Cmd-Alt-K brings up the short-list of keyboard... first, make sure that you are on a standard PrPro one by looking at the top line. If it's say first Pro Default, then you can try to choose something that is not currently a short keyboard, like 'Help-> cut to camera 10', click on the empty past this entry line and press tilde... If it displays a warning on the merits of the deletion than other uses, we will know it is defined, but for some reason any doesn't do not. Discard your changes to the range of cameras 10 and probably together something else then go back to Premiere Pro default...
