  • Windows Installer does not not after removing printers

OT: Problems with Desktop and Windows install

I hope that someone can help me, I have not had a good day!

I bought a new printer and tried to install it today and face a number of problems.

Assumed, perhaps wrongly, that I'd better uninstall my old printer first, am so I had to uninstall and done and then was asked to click to restart the pc and the process ends.  To restart the computer Desktop (screen) was all black and none of the usual shortcuts were displayed at all, just a screen black with a toolbar (I think that's what it's called) at the bottom of the screen.  Close the cursor (arrow) on the screen, there was also the 'thing' blue circular turning little and who used all the time as if the pc was working on something.

There were also up to 3 boxes that kept flashing for a few seconds that were similarly.  They directed the Windows installation program and if the message of preparation for installation but nothing ever installed!  I guess that it had something to do with the uninstall of the old printer?

I decided to try and install the new printer. After following all the instructions to the letter, and by inserting the CD to install the software, a message indicates to say that it cannot be installed as Windows Installer is busy and will have to finish first. It never ends well, then the system is blocked and I can't seem to find how to solve it.

The Office seems to be empty also which is a little disturbing.  As much as I know I have no security or virus etc problems and have never had this problem before.  The old printer used to 'block' and not always print or scan, where the reason for the purchase of a new.  It was 'risk to get' where it wouldn't print before I changed printers, maybe if the print statement is still in the pc somewhere and he is blocked somewhere, making it difficult to uninstall the old printer?

I also restored the pc a couple of times to restore earlier points, but it did not work.

I'm not an irritable type as you probably understand now!

    Hoping someone can help me?

  • Windows Vista not reponding: Windows Installer, Office 2007 (Outlook), add/remove programs, System Restore, etc...

    Gentleperson,

I am looking for a solution fix my PC, HP Pavilion Slimline. Windows install Office 2007 (Outlook), add/remove programs and the system restore will not work. The apparent problem is a file corrupted in the system, based on the forums of Windows and Office 2007 and published articles.

    I tried the following:

    • Retore system Mode safe mode and in Safe Mode network - without success
    • In Normal Mode Windows Vista will not respond to the system restore or the Add/Remove programs - without success
    • Chkdsk/r - unsuccessfully
    • sfc/scannow won't answer - no success
    • Msconfig.exe helped with a clean boot; However, this does not solve the problem...
    • Windows Installer is in auto status, but can not start; I have a 1053 error messsage... too slow

As it can be seen, there is a problem with my operating system. I have a recovery disk to format my PC in its original configuration. However, I have not saved my files that I won't lose to the formatting. Please advice.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Windows Installer stucks at "preparing to remove...." "whenever trying to uninstall the program

    Hello.

I need help to solve this problem. A few days ago I was installing and uninstalling many programs... and Windows Installer did not show any kind of mistakes either. Now when I try to uninstall a program, it just stucks at 'Preparation delete... '. "and when I click on 'Cancel', nothing happens, so I need to complete the process in the Task Manager.

Windows Installer may be damaged or something, I don't know why it won't uninstall programs more. I tried to uninstall programs, when I click on one of the programs, only a stucks too and I need to cancel the uninstall Microsoft FixIt tool.

I have download some sort of "Revo Uninstaller" it stucks on this one aswell, as no doubt everything is connected to the Windows Installer service.

I tried to restart the service, and then restart the computer, always it stucks. Interesting thing is that he wants to install programs actually but won't uninstall them. Only way to uninstall is to go to their folder and click on one of the executables that suggests to "Uninstall" program. Problem is, that some of these programs have not just in their file and who is right for which I need to uninstall from the control panel.

I'm trying to understand this for two days already, not to do. The only change I made to the system, it's that I have installed the latest graphic driver NVIDIA GeForce customer experience through. Nothing else.

I don't want to reinstall Windows because of this. It's pain the *, and I did not restore point system, so I'll lose everything if I re-install the entire system.

P.S. I'm sorry if I chose the wrong category. I've no idea what Windows should be the problem of mine.

    Hello

Revo is a great little program and works independently of Windows.

Malware related programs have a tendency to not let you uninstall them, no matter what you do.

And these eightforums.com tutorials are very detailed for the problems resulting from Scan SFC:

"How to run the command" SFC/scannow"at the start or in Windows 8 and 8.1" . "

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-Windows-8-a.html

Read it in conjunction with the rest of the information they give link above.

    Note

If SFC could not fix something, then run the new command to see if it can be able to next time. Sometimes, it can take by running the sfc/scannow command 3 times restart the PC after each time completely fix everything what he is capable of.

If not, then run the Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command to repair damage to the component store,

    Repair-WindowsImage-online - CheckHealth

    Repair-WindowsImage-online - ScanHealth

    Repair-WindowsImage-online - RestoreHealth

Restart the PC afterwards, and then retry the command sfc/scannow .

If still no, then try using ONE OPTION above to run the command sfc/scannow at the start

If still no, then you could do a Refresh of Windows 8, or run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the wrong file occurred to fix. You may need to repeat doing a restore of the system until you find a restore point that is older that may work.

If not yet, then you can use the steps in the TIP box in the section THREE OPTION to manually replace the files SFC could not fix.

    Hi lmcrae,

Put your computer in a clean boot configuration to determine which product is responsible for this. Clean boot is a way convenient, safer to change the options for startup in the registry; You can turn individual items or disable freely to try various combinations up to that narrow you the problem. Once you find out, post details about the same so that we can take additional measures.

Please see this article for detailed information on how to do it.

Note: Ensure that you switch your computer to normal startup mode after completing the troubleshooting steps. Steps are available in the article above.

  • Windows Installer cannot find readers

I am trying to create a virtual machine (Windows XP) on a NFS mount.  I added the storage of the physical machine via VirtualCenter UI successfully.  I also use an iso of Windows XP for the installation that is on the same nfs mount.  When you start the virtual machine, windows install working (so is finding the nfs mount) but just after I click the F8 key to continue, Windows is unable to find records of the installation.  It's the classic Windows doesn't have the driver for this raid controller problem, but this time I use NFS for readers, so I do not understand what could be the issue.

Leave it to BusLogic and just present this virtual disk that I linked in the previous post during installation.  The location where the virtual machine disk file is stored (NFS, SAN, storage Internet) shouldn't matter in your case.

  • 8.1 on Ideapad Windows installation - cannot be enabled

    Hello

I installed Windows 8.1 on my z500 Ideapad I understand is a free upgrade if you have Windows 8 (which came preinstalled)

I just installed it, and there is no product key on the machine. I read that the key of Windows 8 is in the bios and it will automatically activate... but he continues to request the license key.

I noticed that a large number of people have managed to install... What don't understand me, where is the license key?

I would appreciate help or someone can give advice.

    Thank you

Use RWEverything and note the series of Windows 8 of the ACPI key > table MSDM.

    Next

With the right button in the lower left of the screen and open the COMMAND PROMPT as ADMINISTRATOR.

    Then enter these commands:

slmgr - ipk #-#-#-#-# (serial key goes to hashes)
slmgr - ato (this command will activate Windows)

    This must and will work.

If problems, do a clean Windows 8 and upgrade using Windows Store install as it was supposed to be. You should not have problems.
