Windows is constantly freezing
Windows constantly lock up on me this week. Turn off the computer and then many attempts to reboot is the only solutions. Sometimes it will start in safe mode without problem, other times it takes several attempts. The same thing with the choice of the repair option.
When the system is in place, sometimes it runs for a few hours before freezing, othertimes minutes.
I am running:
Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2 on a 64 bit OS
The computer is a Dell Inspiron 1545 Lapttop
A bit of background that may or may not be related. I run McAfee provided by my ISP Security Suite. Attempts to complete sweep have locked for months once the typo scan a file in the Directory Windows/SXS. POS is a manifest file. I spent many hours on the phone with McAfee and it could not "solve this problem and Dell wants big $$ to take care of her." When the blow to scan this file, it also locks the PC with the hard reboot being the only option, but after the reboot, it still works normally. This week gets frozen constant don't have not occurred when an analysis is underway.
This who can I try to fix this? The PC is pretty useless at this point.
Hello
If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
cause.
No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.
It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
the regular windows when you can.
Download malwarebytes and scan with it, run MRT and add Prevx to be sure that he is gone.

Thunderbird barely works, constantly freezes
Thunderbird freezes does not respond when I do anything, such as clicking something or even to move the mouse. It works very well for the first few seconds after it starts but slows down immediately and constantly freezes. I rebooted in safe mode and it seems to make the problem go away. I use McAfee anti virus and have it turned off in the menu Add on, but I'm having the same problem. I started having the problem this week. Thunderbird also now use about 30% of my cpu when it runs. I have a processor I7 with 8 GB of memory.

Can't click links, constantly freezes
I can usually click on text links, but the button links are unclickable since the last update. For example, buttons as one that says "Post Question" does not work on firefox. I had to switch to Opera just to be able to click the links. What has also been past more often since the update is firefox is constantly freezing, turning white and saying "not responding".
It turns out that firefox fixed the problem of reset. I think it was the add ons or plug-ins because even in safe mode, I had the problem. Also tried to uninstall and reinstall firefox, does not always work. I did it just before your answer Fred, so I don't know if it's a working solution. Guess if someone else has this problem they could try it too.

It worked early, when I hit enter to launch the cd? any ideas? TX martyThank you! I tried what you mentioned, nothing has worked... I plugged a usb keyboard and it works, so I'm starting to believe it could be a motherboard problem. I finally got windows xp pro installed, no conflicts in Device Manager, all the drivers are installed and now running smooth. I removed the keyboard, and re-set, all connections look good, but still not good. the synaptics keyboard works fine and both rt & lft click the buttons. I pulled the ram to inspect it, it's the right speed, ddr2700, and after running for an hour, it was cold to the touch! KB915597 cause windows vista to freeze
KB915597 for Windows Defender update causes Windows Vista to freeze. At all times, I have to restart my computer for this reason. And I can't uninstall Windows Defender because it is now integrated into Windows Vista. In addition, I can not uninstall the update. If ever I have to reinstall windows again and uncheck automatic updates, so I can make sure that this update is downloaded or simply live with the question until Microsoft fixes it. Microsoft has released a fix for this error yet? There is nothing wrong with my laptop because I just erased the hard drive and reinstalled vista. I actually discovered this by accident because I reinstalled my operating system before but this freeze happening started and I thought it was a problem of Dell Update.

Windows 7 keeps freezing during and after the connection
So for the last two weeks, my computer (a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 laptop) has been having this problem.
Whenever I try to start Windows, the computer freezes. Most of the time, I'll be able to connect in the first place and the desktop and the taskbar appears normal, but I won't be able to open all programs. The mouse will have a circle "loading" beside him who won't go away, will not come to the top of the start menu and the taskbar will be completely insensitive. When I move the cursor to the taskbar, the arrow usually turns into a circle of "loading". By pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete in the meantime does nothing. The only thing I can do is turn off the computer by pressing the power button.
Sometimes I won't be able to connect at all. The desktop appears as a blank screen, either dark blue or black color. Sometimes the mouse cursor is sometimes visible and sensitive enough to be moved to the screen, sometimes that is not there or completely unresponsive. Whatever it is, there is absolutely nothing I can do when the computer is in this State. Sometimes the Office does not at all, and I'll be stuck watching the blue 'Welcome' screen until I turn off the computer. Sometimes I can't even that, as the computer crashes as soon as I click on my user icon.
These problems occur when I connect the guest too account. Sometimes they occur when I try to start the computer in Mode safe, but sometimes (usually after many frustrating attempts), I will be able to log in Mode safe mode normally. (Right now I'm in Mode safe mode with networking.) When I try to log on to the guest mode safe account, it always freezes before connect you or displays a message saying that there is "a mistake with the sense of service" or something like that.
While in Safe Mode, I tried entering the system setup and turning off some startup programs. Who gets usually the computer working again for a little while, but after a few days problems reactivating. I also tried to do a restore of the system three times, but every time the restore has failed to occur due to errors (do not remember exactly what). The computer began working again after the attempt, but once more, the problems would be just begin again in a few days.
What causes this problem, and what can I do to solve it for good?
Hello
It could be a particularly strong virus or malware. Safe mode, I would run my antivirus software on a deep, boot level scan. If you don't have an antivirus, I use and recommend Avast Free Edition: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html (only use the Direct download link).
Other than your antivirus and also run it from Safe Mode, the following malware scanners:
Malwarebytes': http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html ; and,
SuperAntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html .
Again, use the Direct download link only. Let me know if this solves the problem for you.
Kind regards

The volume causes Windows Explorer to freeze
Hi all
A question I continue to meet is one which concerns the volume on my laptop controls. Every now and then, when I try to adjust the volume of my computer, Windows Explorer will freeze. When I try to click on the bar of Solution Explorer, I was informed that "Windows has stopped working", and I give myself the option to restart, closure or waiting so that he could respond. I can shut down or restart and will unlock the bar, but any time I try to adjust the volume after this first occurrence will result in another gel. Volume control by physical on my laptop volume button or the virtual volume mixer will produce the same result. Here are some specs...Software: Windows 7 Edition home premium (32 bit)Material: Toshiba Satellite A205-S4577It is a problem that happens erratically, but tends to occur more frequently when the laptop is unplugged.
Can anyone give advice?Thank you, Pranav.
I actually received a response from Technical Support for Windows earlier and it solved the problem! In this case, they said that i:First, back up all files. Then make a quick virus scan to search for threats. A few should be ok, but 10 or more are a problem. Then, do an analysis of the file system to find all system files is damaged. The scan detects and repairs. To do:- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
- At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow
And that solved it for me! -

Windows hangs or freezes randomly
Original title: System problem
I am using windows 7 ultimate and my computer freezes randomly over and over again after a few seconds, it starts normally
Hi Praveen,
1. is the issue limited while accessing any program in particular?
2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
This problem may occur following a conflict of third party software, virus system or file system is corrupt.
Refer to the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.
Windows hangs or freezes: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2681286
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again, the data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Hope that the information provided is useful.
