Windows Mail - I'm afraid that the old emails in the files could be preventing me from receiving new emails

Original title: Windows Mail - collection of e-mail addresses over eight years for professional use - last year I knew trouple receive emails - are these two related?

I started my email account in 2002 for businesses.  As buyers across the USA would contact me, I would be filing their e-mail address in a file designated for this part of the country.  I'm afraid that the old emails in the files maybe stopped me to receive new e-mail messages.

I have ten files of buyer for emails that are critical that I keep the emails.  1 has 377 emails.  2 a 206.  3 a 137.  a 4, 138.  5 a 79.  6 a 53.  7 a 63.  8 a 52.  9 to 19.  10 to 18.

I have too many files for customer communications.  What is too much?  Can I stop receiving emails?  My said any hosting company is fine.  This problem appeared several times during the year in th epast.  I keep my system as clear as possible, but I'm running out of answers.  Help, please.  Thank you.

N ° it is a very small number of messages and I tested WinMail in its beta with more 132 000 messages. The number of messages and folders is not a problem.  What could help occasionally is compact and repair the database, you can do it with my Windows Mail utility (www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/).  The most common problems with receiving mail failures are due to 3 third-party programs, such as antivirus software (seewww.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3), or having problems at the end of the ISP, which they admit not always.

    Hello
I'm so frustrated, this problem has arisen at a very bad time!

I started to use Windows Mail a few months ago and have had no problems so far, since Thursday night, every time that I attach a file to an e-mail message when I click on send this message 'some files was not found and could not be attached to the message. You want to send the message anyway? "I am running Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.

    Hello

    Method 1:
You can perform the steps of troubleshooting from the link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-Windows-Mail

    Method 2:
You can check if the default e-mail program is selected, follow the steps to do this:
    a. go to: Control Panel and go to default programs. Select Configure programs and Computer Defaults b. Select continues if the permissions window will appear
    c. left, double-click Custom, under Choose a default e-mail program, select Windows Mail.
    d. click Ok and close.

    Method 3:
If none of the above steps are useful, then try to perform the system restore to the date when it was working fine.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

NOTE: System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file. If you have backups of your files, you can restore files from a backup.

    Method 4:
If the file you are trying to download is opened, then it will not download, you can close the file completely and then try to download.

  • I get the same messages code and error with Windows Mail for a week that the person in the previous announcement.

It seemed to have started running last week when we had a huge update of Windows.  Windows Mail does not connect to the top through our wireless network.  He tries to go through several dial-up non-existent.  It is not a problem with my server.  I checked with them.  I tried to pass even if Windows Mail, with tools, through accounts, properties.  Once I get in the window with about 8 tabs on it, I can't get into any tab, except that might do me some good.  When I click on the Connections tab, my computer hangs in Windows Mail, and I leave Windows Mail.  Is there another way to get into Windows Mail to set the connection to Windows Mail?  Is there a way to get my computer to get the network wireless set up as the connection by default because the way he is now, he won't put the connection wireless as the default connection, even if I'm signed up to this time.  It's a problem that has arisen recently and it is extremely annoying.

Try to compact and repair the database first (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) to rule out the possibility that it is a question of database.

Then go to tools | Options | Connection and see if you can set the correct connection there.  Then go to tools | Accounts | Add | Post and add another copy of your e-mail account with the correct settings.  Before you download messages, go to tools | Accounts | Mail | The original properties and uncheck the include account when sending and receiving.  Then check mail on the new account you set up and see if it works.  If so, you can delete the old account.

If it is still a question, then see point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 to exclude interference antivirus and see point 15 on this page for updates which could have done (nothing to do with your problem).

  • How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7

    Hello

I need to prevent users to install (and download) of new programs in Windows 7. I am responsible for three computers. They are not on one network (other than the internet, of course).

I read the article "How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7" but I'm not sure what choice to make when I get to the choice of Windows Installer. I'm also not quite know how to cancel that so I can install the software when I have to. I've never done this if I want to be very careful.

    Can anyone help?

    Many thanks,

Are their accounts 'Administrator' or 'Standard' user level?

If they are directors of the machine, and then create a new Admin account (only you know the password) and then lower their Standard user accounts. If they attempt to install programs now it should be prompted to enter the Admin password that they won't.

    User accounts - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2663817

Also see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html for info UAC - and adjust the required level.

If their accounts are accounts administrator and for some reason must be a competent user, then will probably be able to undo everything you put up anyway.

Windows mail - error and the same letter over and over again.

When I open Windows mail, I start to get the mail and I get it about 474 243. And then an error saying Windows mail will be closed because of an error. And I start it again and I get the SAME email AGAIN, and again, it stops somewhere and closes.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

You can try to set up a new e-mail account and use the exact settings of the account that you have now.  This way, you will have a copy of the same account.  Then see if it has the same problem.  If it works and is not old, and then see if the old man works after this and remove one of them, if you do not receive the messages in doubles.

If the new copy of account has the same problem, then it's a stuck message and your courier company should fix this.

  • When I start my computer I get a message that says that the file < root windows > \system32\hal.dll. is damaged or missing.

    file HAL.dll

When I start my computer I get a message that says that the file \system32\hal.dll. is damaged or missing. Please reinstall a copy of the file. I have the original Windows XP CD and I tried to re - install, but it will not go beyond the implementation of window. I can't sign in to windows. How can I reintall this file?

It's extremely likely that you will need to replace the hal.dll and since there are seven files on the XP installation CD that will extend into hal.dll, which would you choose?  It depends on your hardware, but it is extremely likely that the problem (did I already say that?).  I've never had to replace a file hal.dll for this problem.

The real problem is most likely that XP just can not find the file because of a file system corruption or a file c:\boot.ini afflicted.

For this error, I would always be first boot from the XP Recovery Console and sometimes run a chkdsk-r that will fix things right to the top.

If the chkdsk /r is clean and you have the same problem, and then re-create your c:\boot.ini file but rename the old one first so you don't build on top of those afflicted - this tidbit is absent from MS KB article that assumes too.

You can do all this in the XP Recovery Console, but do go through these methods in this article and see how you go.

For example, method 1 will not work if your system does not start.  You may have more luck with other "methods".

If that doesn't work, then I suggest to provide a little more information about your system:

Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Your system have IDE or SATA disks?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a real installation CD bootable XP which is the same Service Pack as your installed Service Pack? (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

    Hello

    • You receive an error message when opening Control Panel or Windows mail?
    • What were the changes made before the issue occur?

    You can view these methods:

    Method 1:

I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure and check.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note:
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
    Method 2:
    NOTE:
Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.
You might try the following and see if it helps to get Windows Mail open.
You can delete all entries in the registry for Windows Mail. The junk e-mail filter information have been corrupted.

    a. Click Start, in the search box, type regedit. Then choose continue to leave and then read the help file.

    b. then highlight this registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail
right-click and choose export to back it up. You can save it to your desktop. It will save the key as a measure of protection.

    c. make sure that Windows Mail is closed and right click on the key again, and then choose Remove.
    d. then try to start Windows Mail and see if it is now open.
  • Saved attachments in Windows Mail do not appear in the actual file

In Vista, using Windows Mail, attachments are saved to disk hard aren't really there.  It does not matter what type of file it is.  When you click on an attachment to a paperclip icon and navigate to the folder on the hard disk where you want to save the file, the file seems to save successfully.  But, when you go to this real folder through 'Computer', the file is not really there.  If you go back to the email and save it, it says that the file already exists (although looking at the file in a Windows Explorer window, it is not there).  If you save multiple attachments from Windows Mail to a folder, the record is displayed all files in this folder... but none are really there.  What is the problem here?

My only guess is that some 3rd party program is screw things upwards.  You can check for antimalware, antispam, or antivirus software and see if that might be the problem (seewww.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  In OE, we suggest set you up a new identity, but it is not so easy in WinMail.  I guess you'll just to workaround it.  To ensure that the economy of attachment is selected under Tools | Options | Security also.

We tried.  This is even if hidden files are marked to show or not.  It does not matter where you save the file in... it will not be displayed in a regular Windows Explorer window, or be seen by other software (for example, whether a file you want to import into a program).

If you double-click the message to open it in its own window and drag the attachment to a Windows Explorer window, it save successfully and can be seen and used as usual.
