Windows Media Center lost information Guide for some channels, but it is still on zap2it

Why Windows Media Center (WMC) is no longer a information Guide for some channels, when she used to have?  WMC uses the information from zap2it.com and zap2it.com still has the elements of programming for these channels.  The Guide has "No data available" for all the hours for these channels.  For Los Angeles area broadcast, channels of first importance are 40.2 by 40.5 (40.1 is very good, as evidenced by the correct include titles and descriptions).

My PC worked on Windows 8.1 with update 1 for some time, but is now back at the origin of windows 8.

I "lost" my Live Mail access and access to the photos.

The version that it came loaded a whole mass of tiles/apps that I didn't need and I lost a number of applications and shortcuts, I had.

How can I go back to the situation, I got up to 4 days ago please?.

    Derrick.

    Hi Derrick,

You can manually check and install updates through Windows Update.

Once the updates are made, you can install from Store Windows 8.1.

For storage on Windows Live Mail folder, you can try the suggestions of the post http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-email/how-to-recover-lost-storage-folders-in-windows/6fa3abe2-865a-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

  • my version of windows media center is not looking for movies or internet tv

I have windows media center, but am not sure what version. I am running windows 7 64 bit edition Home premium. in media center, I see the movies tab, but not the search option. I see the TV tab, but not an internet TV option or tab, which can do?

    Where are you located?

Internet TV is available only in the United States and the United Kingdom.

If you are located in any of the countries mentioned above, then try to run Setup again: -.

Open WMC > tasks > settings > General > installation Windows Media Center > rerun the installation

  • Windows Media Center showing the gray screen (no picture but sound OK)

Hi everyone, I had a problem with Windows Media Center for several weeks now: when I try to watch television, either recorded or live (from my tuner), WMC shows a square white gray but audio works fine. Trying to open the .wtv files in WMP has similar problems - presenting a black screen but with complete audio. Other files video (I tried .avi and .wmv) still work correctly. WMC was playing TV files without a problem until one day, it just stopped working. There wasn't that no updates not installed that startup and the system has been installed costs less than a week before the problem started.

After spending a whole week looking for solutions online, there seem to be many people who have had this problem, but all have been fixed by different methods, and none of them seem to work here. I will list what I tried: installation and reinstallation of different codec packs, reinstall the WMC, uninstall and then reinstall all the Turners and the graphics drivers, setting the parameters within the WMC, graphics cards settings adjustment. I also tried to make a 'fresh' start (no extra service, just basic Microsoft services) to try and see if a particular service is causing the problem, but even in these conditions, the problem persists.

I hope someone can help, if you need more information, let me know.

  • Windows Media Center extender on my XBOX works initially, but not after reboot of my XBOX. Error: Failed to connect to the Xbox 360 could not connect to the windows Media Center computer.

It's VERY odd and very annoying!

I set up my laptop next to my Xbox 360 with an Ethernet cable directly connecting the laptop to the XBOX, and the laptop is on our wireless network. The XBOX has access to the internet (shared through the laptop), and when I test the PC connection and the connection XBOX Live sound fine to all.

So I'll try to set up Windows Media Center, it works great! I "Add Extender", put the code to 8 digits. It passes through the installation, all works, no problems and WMC opens on the XBOX, I can go into my library, watch movies etc... works great!

However! As soon as I turn my XBOX off and back on, it will fail to connect to the WMC.

He says his 'find Windows Media Center PC' which seems to work fine, it goes to the ' Windows Media Center loading screen "contact...". ", and after about 10 seconds, I get an error"failed to connect the Xbox 360 could not connect to windows Media Center PC. Make sure that the PC is turned on and connected to the network.

I tried to configure the Extender repeatedly, whenever it works fine until I restart the XBOX... :/ - and its strange cause I still the internet connection (shared through the laptop) after turning on the XBOX, its really JUST Media Center which is screwing around.

She continues to keep trying to connect then repeatedly fails.

If I wanted to, I could re-configuration the WMC Extender EVERY TIME turn off the Xbox, which works the first time without fault, but that's all just stupid.

I can't really understand what is happening here... any help would be appreciated.

  • Update of Windows Media Center electronic Program Guide only to July 22, 2015.

Electronic Program Guide (EPG of my Windows 7 Media Center PC) ceased to be updated since July 15, 2015. I manually download updated guide to day and it confirms that the download was successful, but the guide has information up to the part of July 22. No information is passed to 20:00 on 22 July.

This is a temporary problem or should there be a fix for Windows Update?

    Thank you!

Same thing I had, but this fixed it for me.  Run the installation of media center and set up the new TV signal.  Takes a little everything and some channels is different, but the guide whole is back.  Not sure if I need to reprogram my recordings again.  I hope this works for everyone!

  • Window Media Center! 10 GB for TV-record 30 minutes! Go Microsoft!

As I said in the title, I usually record TV shows so I can watch them after school, then all of a sudden one day I discovered my hard drive was full... I tried to find the problem and found out it was the "recorded tv" folder which is sh * ting my storage. I take a look at the properties and shocks, each tv 30mins record contains 10 GB or more! Go! It is simply not true! No idea how I change it or compress the vid or just convert a .wtv for any folder that's NOT going to s * ck my hard drive! PLEASE...

For ISDN (the Japan Broadcasting System), I don't know.  But brushing up on the specs, I can see why the size of your file is so huge - the bit rate is, well, pretty high (but, this picture has got to be so pretty!)  With a rate of 51 MB/s per channel, it'll do for some large files in a hurry.
Here in the United States, ATSC (our over-the-air signal level) has a total ~19.4Mb/s rate (amount of signals of a station - up to 5 programs of the station).  Therefore, smaller file sizes.  (Cable is as a result, most of the time.)

Why MC just write the bitstream (remember: the signal is already digital, and in a format that it understands) to disc and gives no possibility (at least here) of re - encode a smaller size?  Because it would take considerable processing power to do and would get more heavy you want to compress, or tuners more your are running.
Is it possible to put MC to compress the signal?  For you, I don't know (but I guess that the answer will be 'no', just as it is here for digital signals.)

For now, the best advice I can think of for you to get a more concrete answer would be to re - ask the thegreenbutton.com wire (it is recommended that post in the Windows 7 folder in the world).  There are some (not too many, I think; but a few) users to your part of the world who might be able to shed light on it a little more for you.

Oh, and: I'm sorry for the price of HARD drive.  That sucks.  :(

    HTH,
    Chris

  • Windows Media Center not updated guide data

I tried to restart the Media Center, but when he tried to make a new configuration of the tv he said data could not be downloaded and that it would use existing data.  This must have been the place that is the problem. What should I do now?  My guide data expires tomorrow.

restart and try to TVSETUP with a ZipCode nearby. If you still have a problem
You must include your provider name and postal code

  • Windows 7 Media Center - no TV Signal on some channels

Used to receive channels 7.1 with many others, but now W.M.C. indicates "Not of TV Signal" channel.

Using an indoor antenna, coax input tuner USB Hauppauge WinTV-HVR - 950Q, and have also installed Hauppauge WinTV v7 associate.  7.1 channel is very well received and all the other available local using WinTV program, but do not using W.M.C.

W.M.C. and WinTV would block the other off course, so they can be open at once.  When WinTV is closed and W.M.C. is open, shows W.M.C. 7.1 is indeed activated and the signal strength is 6 bar, like all other local channels.  Always 'No Signal TV"in W.M.C. When you try to view 7.1.

Repeat the "Scan for more channels" and "Set Up TV Signal" does not solve the problem.

    Ideas, anyone?

    Mr. Kumar,

Thanks for the attempt, but this response does not address the details of the question.

Channel 7.1 (and 7.2) be fine when I use WinTV and W.M.C. contains a signal strength of strong six - bar for these two channels.

All the cables and connections are apparently working properly as WinTV works very well.

W.M.C. has indeed received these two channels correctly in the past, but not now.  It receives all available channels correctly, like WinTV.

This seems to be something wrong internally within W.M.C.

Is it possible to uninstall and reinstall W.M.C.?

Hey there. I had the same problem after installing a new, more powerful antenna. All channels have great strength and quality but 7.1 and 7.2 in the Boston area would behave as if it had a weak signal. After many search my solution was to effectively reduce the output of my power amp. This is an article from Radio Shack (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3780245) containing a gain knob. I declined a bit and everything was fine. If you do not gain control, try to use an attenuator to inline like this (http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=1296f&d=antennas-direct-20db-variable-attenuator-for-vhf-uhf-hd-off-air-reception-1296f&sku=853748001293). I hope this helps.

  • Media Center will not register a particular channel, but all other records very well

Hello, I can not Media Center to record a particular channel unless I am diverted listed steps below.  I get all the live channels.

-the channel, I can't save is 30.1 in Memphis, TN (subsidiary CW) channel

-My tuner: AVerMedia AVerMedia Duet - PCTV Tuner (A188 - white box) Interface PCI-Express x 1 MTVHDDUWB

When I try to record a program at any time on channel 30, Media Center loses signal.

While playing with it, I discovered that I can click to save while watching channel 30, then after that Media Center loses signal, follow these steps:

    Reach

Settings/TV/TV Signal / Scan for multiple channels

So, I have to empty the scanned channels and re-scan.

Then it will start to record the channel 30.1.

Help, please!  Why Media Center will not record 30.1 without all this trouble?

    Thank you

    Kris

Go to settings-guide-add missing channels. Type in right channel # (like 8.1). Then put in the right frequency for the over-the-air station (35 in my case). You can find this info here (http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx) if necessary. Now, you will have 2 channels in guide for 8.1 lists. Right-click on the new guide that lists you just create and go change the channel-edit lists. Change the source from the list to the channel that you have problems with. Next pass parameter-signal digital tv signal strength and a Coachman television that did not properly record to remove the Guide channel. This will fix your problem.

  • Is there a better Windows Media Center Live TV Guide that I can download/use?

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 Q hooked up to Windows Vista Home Premium.  I don't like the WMC - TV Guide.  Is there anything else I can use with this set up?

    Hello

You can use your favorite search engine and look for a TV guide of your choice. Before installing, check the system requirements and make sure that the application is compatible with Windows Vista.
