Windows Media Center not updated guide data

I tried to restart the Media Center, but when he tried to make a new configuration of the tv he said data could not be downloaded and that it would use existing data.  This must have been the place that is the problem. What should I do now?  My guide data expires tomorrow.

restart and try to TVSETUP with a ZipCode nearby. If you still have a problem
You must include your provider name and postal code

  • Windows Media Center - not the initial download put in place data for guide "unable to connect to the remote server.

    Hello

Looking for help on this one...

I have a new install of windows 7 pro running, and I was not able to get the guide to download Windows Media Center.   I am up-to-date with all the updates and SP1 version running.   My video card drivers are also updated.

I use HDHOMERUN PRIME equipment with cablecard and who receives a TV signal very well and I am able to view it in WMC.    I use Verizon FIOS and my zip code is 07452.    Before this computer, I ran the cablecard even with a ceton infinitv and had no problem Guide at all.

It's just that I can't download the guide data.  Its just totally blank.   I receive the channels and view them, but there is NO data.      Whenever I run the TV setup the same question comes up.  Cannot download the initial configuration data due to the error of previous download.   As far as I know, there is NO error message when Windows installed... actually... I reinstalled windows completely and this has not solved the problem.    I tried to manually download the guide which did not help.   It... nothing happened when I turned 'on' and 'off' WMC in Control Panel to reinstall.  I even tried explore the ehome folder and remove the file db... but nothing is helping.

I can't find a file mcupdate.exe light on my system - don't know if this is relevant.   When I looked in the event viewer here are some of the error messages that I see.

Impossible to extract the EpgLineups (error: unable to connect to the remote server)
Impossible to extract the MCEClientUX (error: unable to connect to the remote server)

I'm starting to think it's a matter of windows.   Anyone have any ideas?

  • Problems with Windows Media Center cumulative update 2

    Hello

I tried to set up my xbox360 to work with windows media center.  Whenever I try to install the Update Rollup 2, he created a restore point and as soon as he arrives to install the fix, says installation failed and my computer must be restarted or something to that effect.  I did some research and found the threads on the .NET framework 1.1 Hotfix and checked for her and she does not appear in my programs add/delete, menu, so I don't think that may be worth.    It drives me crazy, any help would be appreciated seriously.

Yes - you will need to reinstall Windows to fix.  And, Yes, you will need to backup your data first and reinstall all your programs later.

I'll post instructions later tonight (they are on a machine at home).  In the meantime, now is a good time to start copying all your data to elsewhere.

    Kind regards
    Chris.

  • Windows Media Center not opening

Every time I open Windows Media Center, it says windows checks for a solution for this problem.  Then it closes. Media Center does not open.

    Hello jodoloy,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

I uninstall and then reinstall Windows Media Center, to see if that helps to clear all corruption.

Uninstall and reinstall the Windows Media Center:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling in Windows Media Center:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Center.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall the Windows Media Center:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of Windows Media Center.
    4 restart the computer.

Now you are able to open Media Center? If this isn't the case, then go to the event viewer and look for the application event log. See if there are errors for Media Center and then then list them here.

Please answer back with an update and let us know the result of your problem.

    Sincerely,

  • Why Windows seems to work very well, but Windows Media Center not?

    Hello

Today, I was with my Home Theater PC (HTPC) to record TV. Everything worked well. I wanted to watch a YouTube video when I was recording was completed. When I went on YouTube, there was no audio data.

I use a HDMI from the HTPC to connect to my Pioneer VSX-50. While watching the TV show, the VSX-50 would show he was getting audio to 5.1 channels as it should. When I go on YouTube, all the sound elements would not pass, no audio signal is sent to the VSX-50.

So I had a slight problem when it seems that Windows and Windows Media Center try to run the sound completely different from each other. And I went to my "manage Audio Devices" set up so that Windows would go the 5.1 audio channels (I think that until then he was established as stereo?). Once I did, I was able to get a YouTube sound very well. Then I went back to Windows Media Center. Media Center at the start, that's fine, but when I try to watch live TV or any recording, sound glitches (she repeats a second 1 loop repeatedly while video continues to play as if it's good), then he falls all together. After the sound glitch, my VSX-50 shows no audio signal is sent to the receiver, and I can't he come back! It really frustrates me!

    Any ideas?

  • Windows Media Center lost information Guide for some channels, but it is still on zap2it

Why Windows Media Center (WMC) is no longer a information Guide for some channels, when she used to have?  WMC uses the information from zap2it.com and zap2it.com still has the elements of programming for these channels.  The Guide has "No data available" for all the hours for these channels.  For Los Angeles area broadcast, channels of first importance are 40.2 by 40.5 (40.1 is very good, as evidenced by the correct include titles and descriptions).

  • Program guide Windows 7 media Center not updated

We have very little data to guide our Guide was date of 01/01/13 end 22:00 it's DVB-S Astra 28.2 East, 250282 Im in the United Kingdom. We have a few bits of information of courses and the next on 3 or 4 channels BBC1 Channel 4 etc, but that's all.

The data seem to download but Media Center does not load the data. Nothing works.  I cannot now schedule new recordings or much to watch TV Online. I spent hours trying to understand what is happening.
UPDATE: seems to me now have the curriculum and the next to most of the channels but nothing further.  The guide to update really slowly?  If I leave it will pick up the data possibly?

  • Update of Windows Media Center electronic Program Guide only to July 22, 2015.

Electronic Program Guide (EPG of my Windows 7 Media Center PC) ceased to be updated since July 15, 2015. I manually download updated guide to day and it confirms that the download was successful, but the guide has information up to the part of July 22. No information is passed to 20:00 on 22 July.

This is a temporary problem or should there be a fix for Windows Update?

    Thank you!

Same thing I had, but this fixed it for me.  Run the installation of media center and set up the new TV signal.  Takes a little everything and some channels is different, but the guide whole is back.  Not sure if I need to reprogram my recordings again.  I hope this works for everyone!

  • Is there a better Windows Media Center Live TV Guide that I can download/use?

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 Q hooked up to Windows Vista Home Premium.  I don't like the WMC - TV Guide.  Is there anything else I can use with this set up?

    Hello

You can use your favorite search engine and look for a TV guide of your choice. Before installing, check the system requirements and make sure that the application is compatible with Windows Vista.

  • TV in Windows Media Center program guide lost and can not keep GMT on clock

Original title: lost the TV Program Guide in Windows Media Center (clock on PC can not also follow GMT... dunno if they are connected)

Have lost the TV Program Guide in Windows Media Center (clock on PC can not also follow GMT... dunno if they are connected). Have messed around with all the settings, but can't seem to recover these items.

    Hi Liljools,

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

    3. When was the last time that the clock was followed by time?

    4. have you tried to change the settings of the clock to GMT?

    Step 1:

Try to configure the guide once more and check if it helps. The configuration guide, follow these steps:

    a. on the start screen, navigate to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then click Set Up Guide listings.

    b. follow the instructions on the screen to configure the list of Guide for your region.

    c. If you are prompted to select a provider of TV services, and you do not know which one to select, control a recent draft Bill or statement from your TV service provider to find the appropriate information.

    d. the providers listed in Windows Media Center vary according to the Postal Code or ZIP. If the supplier subscribe is not listed for the ZIP or the Postal Code entered, try entering local codes find the appropriate Guide listings.

    Step 2:

You can also manually download the latest Guide information and check.

    a. on the screen start, navigate to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then get latest Guide listings.

    (b) when you are prompted, select Yes to start to download Guide listings. You are notified when the update of the Guide is complete. You can continue to use Windows Media Center and the Guide while new Guide information is being downloaded.

If the problem persists, you can try to configure the TV signal in Media center and check if it works very well.

You can check out the link below to learn more about the definition of TV signal in Windows Media Center:
