Windows Media Player 11 says cd is "filled".

Whenever I insert a blank cd in my drive, the bar that shows how much room is left on the disk fills with red and says 'filled '. I know that the cd I am inserting are empty. I tried to see if there are updates, and the answer is no update. What should I do about it?

I had the same problem, do you have the code 19 reg difficulty and that fixed it.

Start >
type regedit in the search box
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318
delete upper and lower filters, restart the computer

I apologize in advance; I'm sure that this question has been asked many times before, but I have been searching Microsoft for two hours and I'm frustrated that there is no clear answer.

I'm in the United States the computer was purchased from the United States the activated, legal Vista Home Premium is on U.S. time and language settings. The DVD was purchased from the United States and the seller (Amazon, a reliable company) confirmed to me in writing that it is meant to be played in the United States the region on my player says DVD region 1. All settings are enabled by default. Media Player 11 is updated as part of the Microsoft Windows automatic update service.

    Hello

    Codecs: Frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/codecs-frequently-asked-questions

All you need is good Codec - get these if 32-bit.

-Free - CCCP also get free tool of insurgents
    http://CCCP-project.NET/

    FFDSHOW - free
    http://sourceforge.NET/projects/ffdshow/

    Check here:

    Plug-ins for Windows Media Player
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

    ---------------------------------------

VLC needs, of no use so usually Codec as a backup when asked to support associations of files just say no.

    VLC - free
    http://www.videolan.org/VLC/

    -------------------------------------------------------------

If 64 bits and you need codec.

Read this 1st and go that route, or use the one below. (Vista or Windows 7)

    http://www.Vistax64.com/sound-audio/152850-Vista-codec-pack-32bit-64bit-Media-Player-codecs.html

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

If 64-bit - can run WMP in 32 or 64 bit mode.

Or try these: download - SAVE - go to the place where your put them RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN.

For 32-bit use these - OR the 32 bit ones listed above which I prefer.

K - Lite Codec Pack 8.0.8 (or newer)
    http://www.codecguide.com/

    Use them for 64-bit:

    K - Lite Codec Pack 5.5.0 (64-bit) (or newer)
    http://www.codecguide.com/

    -------------------------------------------------------------

You know that you use WMP 32 or 64

Change, modify or value 64-bit Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) in Windows Vista x 64 as default (or WMP12 - Windows7)
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/01/19/switch-change-or-set-64-bit-Windows-Media-Player-11-WMP11-in-Windows-Vista-x64-as-default/

    -------------------------------------------------------------

And you can use it when necessary because no codex is usually required.

    Hi doodle75,

You try to add data to a multisession CD - R or CD - RW in Windows Media Player 11?

If you attempt this task, this problem occurs because Windows Media Player 11 does not support multisession recording. You receive this message if the CD you are trying to record already contains data.

Method 1: Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-library-Troubleshooter
    Method 2:
This problem may be due to database corruption. You can delete the Windows Media Player database and check if the problem persists.

Steps to clear the database of windows media player:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.
