Windows says that it is not authentic

I had my laptop for about 5 years.  He was executed the same operating system all the time.  It came bundled with the machine.  Recently he has begun to stop periodically telling me this isn't "genuine Windows" (which gave all kinds of laughs, ask yourself what is "Windows genuine".  What is an existential question?  My computer is questioning the meaning of life?  Is it not the Platonic ideal of Windows?  Has it failed to reach its true potential?  My poor computer!  Visualize the desired outcome.  Be the ball!  * That * is "Windows?  What is - this itself?  What is its nature?)

But I understand that you can begin to get this message if a part of the operating system is damaged.  I had some trouble with malware, I installed a version of education under license of SAS on the machine which is a long installation and intrusive (I got MS Office at my University also.  Both have a temporary license [for me] and I wonder if they are expired and it is what is the cause), and I have written Java in the path variable, so I can run Java applications.  I also run a bunch of old video games and had to mess with the operating system for at least one, but I played the same games on my desk and who is not complaining.

Glancing at the diag report, the 'File Mismatch' and 'Corrupt file' jump just to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Things to watch for.

Recently reported several cases of blocked MSDN keys packed with the media looking legitimate. I can not stress enough to save your packaging, media and reception, if you buy software such as this to appeal to the Bank, you bought it and report it to www.microsoft.com/piracy

If you bought a key, with or without DVD or packaging of EBAY, or any other person or seller and this could be a MSDN key because your key has been blocked you can check a few things yourself, if you have received your key with the physical product go to www.microsoft.com/howtotell and check your product, however some counterfeit software are thus convince you may not be able to identify it as such.

To check your PID press the key to victory and the pause at the same time, or system opened via the Control Panel, scroll to the activation section and properties related to computing PID will look something like this 12345-067-1234567-54321, the part that you are interested in is the section to three digits, if it corresponds or is included in one or two digits for the examples below You probably have a MSDN key.

065, 066, 067 for Ultimate, box 220 for Pro and the 230, 231 , box 221 for the premium, there are probably others, but they should be close to those posted.

  • My Windows 7 is now saying that it is not authentic after a virus. Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling everything?

Bought new Dell Office in February, preloaded with Windows 7 Prof 64 bit.  In April, a small problem (maybe a virus) caused several problems, which have been set except my copy of Windows is now reported as not authentic.  I have the product key, but there is no entry under the 'status' of the property line.  A way to solve this problem without having to reinstall all my programs?

  • Dv4-1555dx: replacement motherboard on DV4-1555dx now Windows 7 says that it is not authentic

Motherboard was bad, so I bought a genuine part of HP and succeeded him. Machine starts and runs but the chip for the BIOS on the new machine does not have the number of serial number or "tattooed" in model.

Now, Windows tells me my installed factory copy of Windows 7 is not genuine.

I also tried to use the restore disks to reinstall windows and these discs usually running gives me an error message saying that they are unsuitable for this machine, I created

I called HP technical support on the phone and after waiting more than an hour (the technicians of the phone more in India had no idea I was talking about) a supervisor for the supervisor acknowledged my problem and was told that there is nothing that can be done and there is no way they can tattoo information on my new HP motherboard.  I explained to him that a repairer authorized HP told me they have a DMI application to this effect, but the contractor, said that there is nothing that can be done and I need to buy a new machine.

Now, I know I can use a disc to install windows 7 and use the license key on the bottom to install windows, but I lose all the applications provided with the laptop and I have to download and install all the drivers manually, which is a pain (done on my HDX16 when I upgraded to windows 7)

can I do (apart from desolder the chip for the bios off the coast of the former Board and welding it to my new?), to be able to use my restore disks or simply continue to use my machine without saying my version of windows is not genuine? the HP supervisor's response is not acceptable.

So, I finally found nbdmifit - 1.0F that works for my dv4 to a Russian site.

In case anyone needs to know the steps, they are as follows.

created a bootable USB with rufus, then loaded the files on the USB key.

at the DOS command prompt and typed DMIFIT, that launched the application

Use them guests I entered the serial number, SKU, product generated a random UUID, entered the PCID found under the battery, the code location that was ABA, then across the advanced factory installed operating system menu: Windows 7

saved, all of these changes to the EEPROM and then have left, restarted and then insert the restore disks, I did when I first bought the laptop DV4 and is no longer, it gave me an error and let me use my system restore disks.

Thanks for nothing HP, but I got tips for how find it on other threads on this forum, thanks to the forum users!

  • Windows says that my copy is authentic, but update Windows 10 says that it is not

I built my PC myself four years ago and have not had any problems with the copy of Windows 7 Pro that I bought, until I started trying to pass to Windows 10 free. The update of Windows 10 says that I need to activate my copy of Windows 7.

However, when I right click on computer and click Properties, it says "Windows is activated." I was wondering if the copy I bought was not official, so I downloaded the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool. He also says that my copy is genuine.

What can I do to solve this problem, or I can get a new key of Windows 7 and can reactivate somehow my copy of Windows 7 Pro? Thank you.

  • Photosmart 6520: HP Photosmart 6520 is connected but Windows says that it is not

I'm changing the name of the printer.  It is clearly linked because I can scan and print.  But when I try to change the printer properties or preferences, Windows indicates that printer properties cannot be displayed, check the name of the printer and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.  For some reason, there are two heads displayed outside the printer.

    Hi @Draftsman,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to rename your printer HP Photosmart 6520 in devices and printers. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution" if I helped successfully will solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand the frustration you feel. What I see, it seems that the printer is shared from another computer on the network and you do not have sufficient permissions to rename the printer.

If you have shared the printer from your computer, you will get another warning indicating that the printer is shared, which is not what you have received.

The two heads human icon tells me that the printer is shared on the network. If this printer is set up wireless you have no need to share the printer in this way.

If the printer is shared from another computer on the network, this computer would need to rename it.

If you are not sure and the printer is wireless, add the printer and do not select the option to share the installation,

If you need assistance, please let me know the instructions above. Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • Why my windows says that it is not a copy authentic?

I got my PC for at least 4 years now. I bought it from a reputable store and I signed everything. Now its saying my windows is not genuine. I have read the forums that seem to be overwhelmed from 2014, but I have not really found a solution. I don't think I have the registration key provided with this PC to fix this problem. I believe that after reading posts that it is Microsoft bug to fix, not mine.

How can I get rid of this message? Someone said to run the genuine tool and copy the report so here it is-

You run a KMS version that should be used in a corporate environment where they can contact a specific Enterprise Server.  If you are not in such an environment it is not a legitimate key and you will need to purchase a.

  • OEM installed Windows 7 now say that it is not authentic

I had windows 7 on a laptop Samsung including motherboard fried after 15 months. The initial cost is $ 650, but the repair estimate is $ 1100. In order to not wanting another Samsung, I put the Samsung hard drive in a new Dell Inspiron 15. Everything worked fine for a couple of months, but now I get the message that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. I have more the Samsung as I sent it to the weeks of the recycler. What should I do?

OEM licenses are linked to it was installed on the original system. Switching motherboards is identified as a new computer and the license authentication will fail.

However, you have also changed the system manufacturer. System of large manufacturers have special licensing agreements that allow them to preinstall Windows on a computer without having to go through an authentication process. Samsung licence key is different from the one issued to Dell (and any other manufacturer). The entrance to the Dell SLIC BIOS will not accept with an active image of Samsung.

If the key is visible on the COA for the Dell label you can try to enter this key in the license dialog. slui.exe 3 in an elevated command prompt should allow you to enter a new key.

  • I changed the hard drive and now windows 7 is to say that it is not authentic

I have a very big problem...

I changed the hard drive in my laptop because he was dying and move all the files etc on the new hard drive. with the help of a friend of technique. He put his product key on my computer, after that I told him mine is on the bottom of the laptop. Now, I can not change the product key and troubleshooting for the network will not work and the folder of photos I have to right click to 'place to open the folder "... I don't want to format and start over as all my work is on the disc.

I spend some time on the internet and well I get the thingies "your windows 7 is not valid" and well I'm getting so sick of it. I do what they say and they come up with nothing...

    Can someone please?

The common cause for these mismatches is a defective Intel Rapid Storage Tech driver

Download and install the latest version of...

    You need

    iata_enu.exe

Restart then run another report MGADiag and display the results

  • Windows 7 has a popup that says that it is not authentic.

My windows 7 Home premium was purchased in the area of Best Buy.  I have recently started having a pop-up message as my windows 7 is not genuine.  After I restarted the computer, the message disappears for a while and then reappears.  I read that this is due to the update of the KB971003 Activation.  I'm too nervous about the fixes people suggest because they involve changes to the registry.  I had this before catastrophe.  Windows Live does not offer a good solution either because they involve registry changes or validation of phone (which I originally did it), but there is no confirmation that it works.  Should I remove the update to take care of this?
It's embarrassing for me and I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any breach of integrity

    Restart your system

Also try to reactivate by phone:
    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

I suggest that to start a thread since this one has been marked as answered already. The eyes more that see this, the faster you will come to a resolution.

  • Clip don't disconnect but Windows says that it does not recognize it?

I loaded my Clip - when I pick up the computer, it shows that its connected and it will not power off - the screen which shows just its connected to the computer and fully charged, also when I plug it into the computer, I get a message that says: "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." and told me to try to reconnect the device.  I've updated the firmware.  I just bought this in September-Help!

With the Sansa unplugged, press and hold power button for 20 seconds, then exit (Clip +), or slide the switch to the position and take it 20 seconds (Clip).

Then try to turn on normally.

If the video freezes, it is unable to properly communicate with the host computer in the USB bus.

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.
-* in your own thread *, please

Please also state the Version and edition of Windows cited on your COA sticker (if you a) in the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but does NOT quote the key on the sticker!
