Windows Services/partners: what is 'Tombstone '?
I can't get WMDC to communicate with a WM6.1 device, probably due to problem of previous partnership with the same device. Drivers are present but Win7 cannot complete the driver installation. Under the Hkey_Current _User\... Widows CE Services\Partners it is a default value and the "Tombstone"? remove the headstone does not help, but who IS tombstone? Y at - it a similar registry within the WM6.1 registry key?

What are the instructions for * installation * the Windows Service 'nativewifip '?
Comments: The file "nwifi.sys" exists in the \windows\system32 directory, but the Windows Service does not exist and so must be "installed" (created). I understand that the command "sc" (service configuration) is probably the way to do it, but I do not know the correct settings for this particular Service. Hello
This error occurs generally when the Windows Installer service does not, disabled or corrupted.
According to article Microsoft Support shows how to deal with such errors: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2642495I would recommend first of all try method 3 before trying one of the other methods in the article.Thank you

Satellite P200 - failed to connect to the Windows Services
After starting Windows Vista on my Satellite P200, I received a message: failed to connect to any Windows Services. The event notification system file are not available.
Use restricted to the mode of administration. No network supports either (wifi, Ethernet,...). At least I can use the PC in batch mode!
Unable to retrieve a previous saved file system.I need to restore my Toshiba restore disk Win Vista?
Do you offer a lighter solution?
It's strange, but what you mean with batch mode?
You can start in safe mode?I think the best way is to reinstall Windows with the recovery disk. It only takes a few minutes and then you have the new installation of Windows with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba.

Pavilion 140 550 - t: unable to connect to the windows service
Not sure if it's the good advice of post, but here goes.
Just got the HP computer yesterday and installed Norton Security, Malwarebytes, and Windows Live Mail (do not like the version of Mail). Now, when I start it, I get "Unable to connect to the Windows Service" pop up and WLM crashes when I try to open it. What the DEVIL?
Had the same problem on the one I just replaced. My laptop became the 'Group Policy' error thing, but I think I fixed it.
Any suggestions? Windows is a joke!
If it is Norton Security, then it's a firewall as well and firewalls blocking things, it's that they are supposed to do. So demand for three, you said that this is probably the cause.
But if you do not want to test it, then try the system restore I've mentioned or reload the image origin, then just put in place the email again and see if it works without the other two installed, first to see if it will work with anything else in the picture.

Is this true? If I uninstall and reinstall the Service Pack, what will happen to the programs 'supposed to be affected?

Hi cbelle,
Thank you for using answers Forum.
I suggest using the CheckSUR for investigating issues of update.
What is system update readiness tool? System resources, such as file of data, even in the data memory and registry data, can develop inconsistencies during the lifecycle of the operating system. These contradictions may be caused by various hardware failures or can be caused by software problems. In some cases, these inconsistencies can affect the Windows Service store, and they can cause software updates not do not work. The system update tool attempts to resolve these inconsistencies.
