Windows Update - 400 + users

We have a network of 400 employees at 31 offices.  We strive to improve the way in which keep us Windows up-to-date.  Besides the connection manually and of their implementation to update everything myself, does anyone have suggestions?

Hello

I suggest you according to the question in this forum and check if that helps:

      net localgroup administrators "On" / add
    • Perform a restore of the system to a point while the problem appeared.

  • Why Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit installs not Windows updates?

    I am not able to download and install Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit windows update.  This Gateway laptop has always been able to quickly and easily install the update by clicking windows update.  However, since the introduction of Windows 10 it has been a lot of your time trying to install updates.  I had this same problem with Windows 7 too.  Never before there was no problem for the two operating systems.  Installation of Windows updates has always been easy and fast without any problem.  Running the troubleshooting isn't good and hunting error codes has been unproductive.  What the hell is happening?

    Hi Joe Cool1:

    'Check for updates...' crashes and slow Windows updates currently affect the SP2 for Vista and Win 7 SP1 users, and I doubt it's a coincidence that Microsoft has ended mainstream support and only provides support for these two operating systems.  The evidence points more to a problem with the Windows Update Agent (WUA Vista, C:\Windows\system32\wuaueng.dll v7.6.7600.256 has not been updated since June 2012) and the problem tends to be more prevalent on computers with slower processors and a limited amount of RAM.

    There are step-by-step instructions posted on 16 June 2016 wire m #l's updates doesn't work do not, he has been looking for updates to the hours which should speed up Windows Update for both for Win 7 SP1 and SP2 for Vista.  The instructions were for users of Vista, so when you reach step 4 just use the appropriate links of Win 7 on the page Web of Dalia http://wu.krelay.de/en/ (Win 7 x 64 if you have 64-bit Win 7 OS;) Win 7 x 86 if you have a 32-bit Win 7 OS) to download packages update stand-alone correct (.msu files) for missing Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) updates on your Win 7 machine.

    Y at - it a registry key to check if the current user can install a windows updates? also, what registry key that is used to verify whether a user is an administrator or not. Thank you...

    There is no need to check the registry keys to see if you can install updates or not.

    You just need to be connected to an administrator account to install the Windows updates.

    You can check if you are in an administrator account by trying taks simple administrattor. For example. Try to change the time system.

    If you can change the time, you are an administrator; no other.

  • BUG: Windows Update, a negative impact on the user.

    This is the second time I had this problem, but this time I thought what is the problem.

    When Windows Update installs an update and requests that restart the computer and you can report up to four hours. The problem is, it ignores completely any request to postpone until after the first. If you select 4 hours, then 3 hours later tell him to postpone once again for 4 more, it will still restart regardless of your desire, an hour later.

    I entered things immediately when windows starts, and this glitch cost me an important download and data from two programs I've been multitasking since he ignored my requests - it wasn't just the right time to restart because of downloading and other circumstances. It is completely unacceptable that the windows to take it upon itself to restart without asking directly for the user. In a second window 3, I lost everything I work on and watched the "Windows applies an update" etc screen, then moments later it restarted.

    I had recently extended the restart, because I knew I'd be able to finish in the next 20 minutes or so. Either do take into account further postpone requests or if you carelessly ignore the desire of the user, generate a warning saying Windows PINGING in x minutes. Please save your work. I had no warning. Just bam, restart. Data of bye bye.

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

    So change "download updates up-to-date, but... "option then do not approve the installation of ANY updates unless you are ready to restart.

    Otherwise, WYSIWYG.

    PS: Do not forget this part:

    Related to security updates, your computer is dangerous before this restart occurs: it is vulnerable to attacks that exploit the problem has been corrected by the update that requires a restart.

    If the update requires a restart before your computer protected, why install if you are not ready to restart?

  • Windows update KB982110 and KB2272691 are delete my profile from the user when the update and installed

    Whenever my computer updates and installs KB982110 and KB2272691 my user profile is deleted and I find uninstall?  Are these really necessary updates and is it possible to get these updates without user being deleted my profile?

    Hi hunneebun,

    These mentioned updates are released to fix application compatibility issues.

    It may or may not be important depending on the types of applications you have installed.

    However, you can try the following steps and check if they help install the updates without any problem.

    Step 1:

    Disable all security software temporarily and try to install the updates.

    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

    You can place your computer in a clean boot State and install the standalone updates below.

    Note: follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

    Stand alone package.

  • XP Home Edition limited question user account windows updates.

    Is windows assume update in limited user accounts?  This is not to do it for me.   When you are logged as long as limited user, I can only run windows updates with ' run as ' administrative rights and windows updates will be download but do not settle.  I have to log on to the administrator user account to install the updates.  Therefore, it seems that for individuals (notwithstanding a technical and complicated solution) you must be connected to the computer account admin to install windows updates.  Is this correct?  Thank you.

    As for the specific error I was getting when you try to manually run windows update in LUA, where I could download but not, the error was "Windows could not install the following update with error 0x8024200e'

    It isn't the mistake that we would expect to see if the user account was not permission to install updates (for example, 0x8007F002), especially in WinXP Home Edition.

    This gives a shot:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. open IE (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run the difficulty mode and then AGGRESSIVE and DEFAULT. [1]

    5. restart & test.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [1] you must be aware that the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your history of update (to the Windows Update Web site), but will not affect the updates listed in Add/Remove programs.
  • Access user (UAC) shield appears on a large number of my programs now after Windows Update download and cause problems with some programs, no one knows how to fix this? (Windows 7) (Windows Update post a coupe of weeks)
    Hello
    Windows Update recently made a lot of downloads on my computer about two weeks ago (I run it automatically and it works usually weekly) and he has made some changes to my system that create errors or difficulties with certain programs. The shield of the UAC is now appearing on many more programs for some reason any and now I'm a guest whenever a program is available. which is also appear on my AntiVirus program. Action Center flag appears almost every day now with warnings saying that my AntiVirus program and spyware is off (not sure if this is related to the UAC shield), but when I check my AntiVirus program everything works and after access; the flag of the Action Center shows while all right. Nobody knows how to solve this problem and get rid of the ecu of the UAC on programs (or at least some of them I want to be invited on)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
    I'm sure I've upgraded to Vista SP2, but not absolute, I can't find a lot of information in the case of the newspapers with the service pack level... only vista combined with some process is perceptible. I bought July ' 09 new and it came pre-installed with Vista on it. I think this is the tool I used to remove McAfee on this; It also came with Norton as an alternative option and both have been removed using their tools to uninstall BitDefender installation instructions walked me through the location and the removal of two of them before installing BitDefender on the computer. My user account is configured as an administrator, but when I right click on programs with the shield of the UAC on them, I'm not running as an administrator. The UAC slider is set at the 2nd ranked (by default); but I do not know how it was listed previous, I wondered about moving down one notch (but he advises not and I don't want to spoil anything).
    Hi Colin Davis,
    Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Forums.
    1. try performing clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796
    2. check if you have the same problem in safe mode
    3. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, click Accessories, right-click command prompt, and then click Run as administrator, and in the command prompt, type sfc/scannow. Restart the computer and check.
  • Profile of user does not periodically; Windows Update does not work
    I had the "the user profile Service has no logon. Failed to load the user profile"and did a system restored about two months ago. I had the same error once again and followed the instructions that I got from a help forum to identify my user profile when the computer starts. Then I got the error again and did a system restored again. Two things have happened:
    1. about every fourth time that I reboot, it loads to a temporary profile.
    2. Windows Update does not work. The error that appears when I try to run Windows Update is 80070005 "unknown error."
    Help! What's next?
    Corruption of the profiles can be caused by several things: malware infection, bad drivers, corruption of file system of Windows due to stops unsuitable, due to lack of material (RAM and disk hard first "suspects"). You need to know what caused the corruption.
    If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.
  • My logon user profile not working after a windows update, I can't connect to my computer.
    Last week I got an automatic update of windows on my computer (17 new). After that, I couldn't connect to my computer again. Loading the windows page, it shows two users icons profiles that were created and when I click on the profile of each user, it seems to start to run a function, but it does nothing. It just goes back to the same screen over and over again. I don't give myself the chance to write a password. I tried f8 system restore and system repaired without success. I have also run the comand line regedit and realized that the two user profiles are missing from here: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList, what can I do now?
  • Windows Update after moving the 'users' on another disk on Windows 8 (without using the registry)
    Hello guys,.
    I would like to ask something. I just got a new desktop PC with a 240 GB SSD and a 1 TB HARD drive, so I had to move the Users folder to the HARD disk. I used the way written here: http://www.nextofwindows.com/how-to-change-user-profile-location-in-windows-8-without-registry-hack/
    I wonder now, since there is no registry hack, it is sure to run Windows Update? I tried yesterday, but I found myself with 4 updates, do not install with all the applications Microsoft Windows 8 (those in the new departure) detects not whole Internet. I could not also add all the features for windows in the .net Framework as anything Microsoft partner unable to connect to the Internet.
    I did a fresh install, followed the new guide but disabled the update of Windows, but I need some updates to add some options to my systems, just basic Windows updates don't not upgrading to 8.1 Windows, so is safe to make updates, is there something to do to ensure that all updates will install very well or should I just stay away Windows Update?
    In which case it is allowed to update, I want to do all work perfectly as I heard the guide I followed could sometimes would do if permission issues records to check and make sure I got all the permissions to so that none of the updates fail? Thanks in advance
    Hello
    I would recommend that you not move all of the USERS folder, or even your own...
    Which may or may not be the problem with .net 3.5... It's kind of finicky to start, and there are other reasons why he could not install...
    But there are things in the folder users who may not be able to be found by things like the update of Windows, programs and etc...
    The best thing to do is to simply move your various Documents, photos, etc. and leave the application data and only, etc...
    You can make a new My Documents folder on the HARD drive and put the photos, downloads and etc in it and then change the location of your folder...
    You don't have to make a new folder in My Documents, but there is less clutter in this way...
    You MUST create new records to the desired location on your HARD drive.
    If the files are going to be mixed between them on the root of the folder you are moving to.
    There is a way to create the file as part of the process of 'Change location', but it would be better just to create the lilke files as you would any other folder, exactly where you want that they and choose when you're moving.
    Just go to your user folder, right-click on the file that you want to move, select Properties, and then click the LOCATION tab.
