  If graphics problems persist after that:

  Download and install it manually. Click HERE download Service Pack 3. Save the file to your desktop. Double-click the file and follow the prompts to install. Make sure that you disable security software like antivirus scanners or spyware before you run the file sp3.

  It may be a corrupted catalog file.  However, it can also be a corrupted system file.  In the latter case, the System File Checker may be able to fix it.  Click Start, type "cmd" in the search/Run box and right-click on the CMD icon at the top of the results pane.  Select run as administrator.  When the cmd window type "sfc/scannow" at the prompt and press ENTER.  When the scan is finished, close the cmd window.  Alternatively, you can try to install clean or safe mode boot mode.  See
