Monitor LCD issues

On my Dell Inspiron 5520, I had to replace my LCD screen due to the damage caused and bought and replaced by part number who gave and purchased from an outside source. Installed and all was good. Now no matter what I set the settings, everything is tiny, to connect to the internet. The graphics are blurred and so tiny. I set it to 150% only to see.  When I look at my device manager it just says generic pnp monitor

I need help.

Hi Tracey,

1. What is the default DPI that you use on Windows 7?

2 are you referring to external screen LCD monitor or laptop LCD?

3. What is the resolution of the screen on the computer?

There are several reasons why view on Windows 7 may not work correctly. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1:

Windows uses a technology called ClearType to create more readable on the screen text. On some monitors, you might want to turn ClearType on or off, or need to adjust it. For more information on the start-up and adjustment of ClearType, I suggest you to refer to these Microsoft article and check if it helps:

Make the text easier to read using ClearType

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/make-text-easier-to-read-using-ClearType

ClearType: Frequently asked questions

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/ClearType-frequently-asked-questions

Method 2:

If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest graphics card drivers and check if it helps:

http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/Inspiron-15R-5520

Also, see this Microsoft article and check if that helps:

    Hello

the monitors are plug-and-play, you should not need a driver unless you activate a feature as a webcam, etc.

That being said, you might be looking for inf file ICM profiles. If so, you can visit lenovo.com/support and type the part number 9417-AB9, brings you to the right place to download files.

  • Is my monitor - LCD Samsung 172 T - too Bright color manage?

Following the generous advice of forum members, I decided to invest in a colorimeter to properly profile my monitor which is a Samsung LCD 172 T.

However, I read several messages in the forum about monitor light problems. For example - that a monitor should be less than 120 cd/mr2 brightness level to display the appropriate image, and some saying that they cannot set their monitor LCD low light enough.

According to the specifications of my monitor my brightness of the monitor is 250 cd/mr2.  My screen is too bright for a camera of colorimeter to profile correctly?

For a colorimeter device I was considering the eye - one display 2 or the spyder 2 or 3.

    Hi, Tom.

As crazy as it sounds, the manuals which came with two of my monitors absolutely NOTHING say about levels of brightness, max, or min.  I can tell you almost anything else you want to know.  My guess is that you won't have a problem.

Normally, you enter your target settings (white gamma temp, color, monitor luminance, if your software, black and luminance) in your calibration and profiling software and the software then you guide. On most LCD monitors except the most expensive, you really only have an analog control... the brightness of the backlight. The software will ask you reduce the brightness to the desired level and gives you the information when you are there.

Once the brightness of the monitor is together (IE, white luminance), with that software will display a bunch of spots of color values, and your colorimeter read one by one.  When it's done, he'll write corrections to your video card which will adjust to your screen to satisfy your target values and give you accurate color.  It's all part of the calibration.

Then, it will create a profile that describes the range of colors of your screen (limits), etc. Your profile will include a color lookup table or a set of color curves appropriate in any application of color management (Photoshop, LightRoom, etc.).

Calibration is automatically saved on your video card and should remain active until your next calibration of the monitor (make every 2-4 weeks for true colors). The profile will be in the default folder where all your ICC profiles, which differs according to the o/s.

If you cannot reduce the luminance of a correct level, you can download a software that will do it for you.  I didn't need or use this software with one of my Samsung monitors.

  • Satellite 2140 CD: monitor Lcd lost colors

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite 2140 CDS.
The LCD lost chart colors so I tried to swap the monitor with a good but once installed or worked once again, the screen remains empty, but white indicating the backlight works very well.
S3 Graphics work fine when connected to an external monitor then think the drivers are correct.
I mounted a new Lcd and LCD inverter cable but the screen remains blank.

It seems to me there is something wrong with an electronic component on the motherboard, I would be grateful all flow back to this topic before you spend more money on this computer.

  • Turn off the screen on Tecra and using external monitor/LCD TV

I recently bought an LCD TV and was anxious to use it as a monitor for my Toshiba Tecra M2V. I ran into problems.

I seem to be unable to 'disable' the laptop screen and ONLY use the LCD TV screen at cary, work, games etc. I seem to be rather only beable to COMBINE the LCD with my LCD screen, by creating a "two" screen I followed all the online help and I am still unable to have one screen.

I just want some LCD TV as my screen!

Any ideas on how to do this? It's really a pain!

    TIA

    Hello

Usually, you should be able to do this by using the FN + F5 key combination. As far as I know if the device is connected to the TV, you have three options (maybe depends on the laptop model) LCD only, LCD and external, just the TV device.

You can also try to switch using GeForce properties:
Display properties > settings > advanced > GeForce tab > Device Settings > Select output device.

  • HP 2709M 27 "monitor - Webcam issue

HP bought 2709 m 27 '' LCD monitor with HP Pav. Elite HPE - 137c Desktop on 14/04/10 the Club of Sam.

On the front, the upper left corner of the monitor, about 2 "down and 1/2" in, there is what appears to be a lens of the webcam.  My monitor has been sold as having a webcam, but have been unable to activate Skype or messaging, called HP.  After talk with 2 technicians, 1 supervisor, 1 sales person, a reference to information client and reading information/features of the HP Web site, nobody knows yet what it is, as far as the model presented on their website does not show the hole in the lens.  Is anyone out there know what it is?

The point is an ambient light sensor. It is normally off. You can activate it by pressing the Menu button on the monitor, select management, select sensor of ambient light and turn it on. In a dark room, the screen brightness will be reduced.

  • Monitor the issue after Windows update

I installed the Windows updates today, and after installing and restarting, the saturation of the color on my monitor is out of line. There is intense color saturation and it made all my files photo as well.

Running windows 7 and a HP w2338h monitor.

Thanks for any help on this

    fifthboss,
You should look through the updates installed to see if there was an update to the video card.  I would then check with the manufacturer of your video card for the latest driver.  If you just updated to the most recent and feel it affected the color then you can restore the previous driver.  Then you can contact the manufacturer of the video card on the driver and they know the issue and see if they are still aware and have a fix. • Several X201T problems solved - sleep problems, lock issues, multiple monitors / dock issues

    Hi, guys.

Immediately after obtaining my Tablet last summer, I installed Win 7 Enterprise, our company holds a license for a microsoft SA customer.  Win 7 Enterprise has all the features of Ultimate edition, including Bitlocker, I needed.  I even restored the machine using discs I got from our Lenovo account manager and had the same problems as the image of the company.  My Tablet has the touch screen feature.

I had the following problems with the Tablet, which are now resolved:

    Trackpad spoil randomly

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/X-series-Tablet-ThinkPad-Laptops/X201T-trackpad-issues-randomly-tries-to...

The tablet on the first day, there's a new trackpad.  The party has had more than 4 weeks to arrive, but it fixed the problem once it was replaced.  I tried 1 billion software solutions (different drivers, settings, etc...) and blew a lot of time, so if you have this problem, get your replaced trackpad.

External monitor did not work with docking station

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/X-series-Tablet-ThinkPad-Laptops/X201T-multi-monitor-issue-with-ultrabas...

The solution was to use an adapter displayport to DVI to my Dell 24 "monitor.  The Displayport takes a long time to synchronize with the monitor that he thinks it isn't getting a signal, and the laptop turns off the display shortly after having tried to activate it.  In this case most of the time.  With the help of an adapter DVI worked very well.  I found myself propping my tablet in portrait mode with a cheap portable stand in a big box office supply store so I can have the OneNote upward on the tablet screen throughout the day.

The final two problems have been solved with the application of a patch of Windows:

    Laptop won't sleep or shut

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/X-series-Tablet-ThinkPad-Laptops/X201T-won-t-shut-down-hard-disk-light-f...

At the end of each computer session, I had to shut down windows with one hand on the power button.  It was extremely disruptive.

Laptop won't lock, will not close the session cannot bring up the Ctrl-Alt-Del screen

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/X-series-Tablet-ThinkPad-Laptops/X201T-tablet-can-t-lock-the-computer-or...

It was awful.  As I sometimes ran programs in respect of the whole of the high network privileges and have a sensitive Inbox, it meant that I had to basically hold the power to stop the machine when I go to the toilet.

    Why no system update?

Lenovo - the fact that this fix does not appear as an update required in Lenovo System Update caused me a lot of grief.  If you have a technical reason why it was available on the site, I would like to hear about it.  The case, please make your tablet customers a favor and put this in the system update.  There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the fix has solved all of my most serious problems, despite a description of Microsoft that doesn't seem to match the symptoms.

I'm a happy guy now that all my stuff works.  A bad computer can really make your life difficult.

    @deathbots,

Thanks for sharing the steps you have taken to solve the problem, I will drop a comment to the TVSU on this topic to see if it is possible to implement this go ahead.

    Thanks again

  • Dual monitor: LCD screen + external monitor?

How can I implement two monitors in my tecra a3? anyone here tried on any model of toshiba?

    Hello

Sorry, but in my opinion it will be very difficult to find a solution for this, because
Toshiba doesn't officially support at this moment Microsoft operating systems.

Check if there is some Linux forum on the net. You may be able to find more information about it. However, I found a very good page of Linux from Toshiba.
Here is the link www.toshiba-tro.de then go to operating system and UNIX-based systems.
In addition, you can visit another site. On www.linux-laptop.net you can find some information about LINUX OS and laptop computers.

    Good luck!

    Hello @nicolaimp ,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that you have a problem with your laptop. However, since it is a commercial laptop, you should post your question on the map cell of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.

  • Lenovo T410s LCD issue

I have a problem with my LCD on Lenovo T410s. Everyting worked good so far. Today, I wanted to check another LCD for this model that I've got. So I dicsonected the LCD original and connected to another to check. After having seen that the other has worked well, I disconnected it. Then I reconnected the original and the laptop. Unfortunately, when he started, the screen has no shining good – it is very dark. I disconnected that and back I tried the second LCD, but here again the other shined very bad. Can someone tell me what could happen? It seems that the inverter is damaged, but I don't know where is that within this model. Please give me some advice

My guess is that you skipped a fuse on the motherboard.

There is no converter as such since it's led lighting panels.

    Good luck.

  • T61 LCD issue

I suggest you download the HMM (the hardware maintenance manual) for your laptop. Not sure about your T61, I know that the T530 has a separate cable. I had a failure in a similar way as the description of your problem on my mother in law T530. I bought Qty 4 T530 of last year and was the only one to fail during the warranty. Lenovo has replaced the LCD and card system twice under warranty and that did not fix the problem. It was the cable. I usually buy used and tested good parts from sources other than Lenovo. More recently, I bought a DVD player for a T42 for $7.99 free shipping off eBay.
