  I had a problem with the installation of Office 2010 by hanging up.  I right click on computer, then selected to manage services and stop the print spooler service.  Installation ended quickly after that.  I met the same problem with office 2010 SP1 update.  Again, I've had to stop the print spooler service and installed ok.  Not really sure why except that they are arguing the CPU resources (CPU meter gadget has been set during installation has failed).

  I have IE8 vista SP1. I could not successfully download updates for the month. Tried resetting it automatic download and install manual. Then, I selected just 1 update for MS Office. There was the same code 646 error when trying to install just 1 updates necessary.

  1. Enter in the right edge of the screen and then click on search.
