  I am running Windows Vista on a Toshiba Sataleite Pro 2010. I ran two FULL virus scans last night, with Avast free protection and another with Windows Essentials I think. Windows has found a number of serious threats that I hit the function apply on. Then I did a scan with Avast.

  Then after I finished the second virus with Avast scan, the laptop began something strange.   I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 x 64 and Windows Update stopped working after installing Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320. I saw a post in the community which offers to download and install KB312810 to solve this problem. I downloaded it but I don't see any possibility of installing it, only to run it or save.

• I think that my system of basic windows files have been changed and currupted can someone please help!

  I get major errors that led me to think my windows files have been modified and currupted I just can't install microsoft updates they download, but I'm unable to install, I'm unable to use the Disk Defragmenter and disk scan as it said my system is already in use. I am also unable to use my acer factory restore settings because it loads but never finishes running can someone please help! I am not in a position to buy or pay for a new cd of windows so that I can make a new clean instalation as I can't afford it can someone please help!
