Windows Update/s KB980182 & KB980302

I tried to install the following updates with failure many times since that they showed in my updates:

KB980182 & KB980302

I use Windows 7 Professional x 64 with Microsoft Security Essentials as well as Avast! 4.8 home Edition.  All attempts have been in vain which: clean the boot, safe mode, manual install, install automatic, disable all except the programs and the services ms and reset UAC.  I just want these two install so I can with my updates to install correctly.  Any other update installs perfectly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated that makes me crazy.

I solved it on my own.  It is corrected, WITHOUT uninstalling Avast! or MSE-

  • KB980302 in Windows Update error code crashed my office

I have Windows Update in automatic mode on my HP Pavilion laptop. It runs Vista Home Premium. Never had any problems until yesterday, when an update for the screen has been downloaded and installed (code KB980302). He immediately threw the office into chaos - icons everywhere in the wrong format, bad background and screensaver etc. My programs may not work correctly: printing has been microscopic, black background and black text, when I closed the program I tried hard, it comes out a piercing 'scream', swiped in pain. Reboot and repeatedly using customization has not helped. Finally, I got it works well enough to save and close. The next morning, all my saved changes had disappeared again, and I had to start from scratch. I deleted the suspect update, but it does not seem to have helped a lot. I did a full scan on Norton Internet Security 2010 and found no problem. Can someone please help? I need this computer in working condition!

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. Try this:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your key of handy product, uninstall NIS 2010, LiveUpdate and all Norton Add ons via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of NIS 2010 using your product ID & reboot: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

TIP: Do not activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate (Norton) until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8 test cycle.

I'm ready to do the checking hijackware.  Just have not been through a thorough check before.

In addition, based on one of your last posts, I checked to see if I had SQL Server installed.  Yes, I did.  Both a mini-edition 2005 old (forget which exactly edition), as well as a complete edition in 2008.  This could have come as I soak in access programming.  The two versions of SQL server is uninstalled, I still hit the same problem with sqmapi.dll

    Greetings,

Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at.  First of all, your Background Intelligent Transfer Services set to Automaticand started and Windows Update ? They both should be started. You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.

Usually, I recommend installing the patches manually at this stage.  However, you have many of them, so I would try running first Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

If this does not work, you may need to use to install them manually:

    (1) Download Center to visit Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.
    (2) search for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB979309).
    3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run.  You must accept the agreement and then click on continue.
    (4) repeat this process for each download of updates Windows could not install.
    (5) to rerun the update from Microsoft, click find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

    Hope this helps,

    Barbara

It should affect my ability to send photos by e-mail using Kodak easysoftware.  Whenever I try to send a picture, it says you must be connected to the server and I'm connected with ATT using my air card.

These wireless internet connections are generally neither strong enough nor reliable enough to update your computer.

Unplug the card (delete) the air then connect to the internet via a modem cable or ADSL (for example, to the to a friend or your local library). Now open Internet Explorer (only) to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all security critical updates available (e.g. KB980182).  If an update of root certificates is listed in the category of optional software updates on the left side of the scan results window, install it to enjoy enhanced Internet Explorer security.

NOTE: If IE8 is not already installed, do NOT install it via Windows Update! Just hide it ("don't show me this update") for now.

  • Alternation of automatic updates for kb980182 and kb2482017.

Microsoft XP Professional V2002 SP3 after I install kb980182 (promt to automatic updates), a few minutes more late kb2482017 wants to be installed by automatic updates, then first again and back as one replaces the other.  Is there a solution to keep them from wanting to constantly re - install themselves?

    Hello

Windows Update is a updatesystem only for Microsoft products.

If you want to update Firefox to the latest version, you can do so by following these instructions.

Only if you want to update Microsoft products, if you use Windows Update.

  • Because Windows update (13/08/15) I can not install a toolbar on Firefox Robo

I have been using RoboForm for years without problem. However, last night, I ran the last Windows Update and this morning I had no Robo toolbar on my Firefox. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Robo and still no toolbar. I ran the restore windows at 08/08/15 and there was the fully functional toolbar. I went back to windows update and had the same problem again.

The toolbar may be hidden or the add-on is no longer compatible with Firefox. You right-click at the top near the address bar and to activate a specific toolbar. You can also check your list of Add-ons to see if it is listed as incompatible. Please note that you do not use beta, not everything may work correctly.

    Hello

This morning my windows vista made some updates. Subsequently the Firefix text is exampe is bad, sometimes unreadable, attached. The text is not bad in IE, but change the return isn't desireble. Text was OK before the reboot of Windows Update. Disable ClearType exacerbates the problem. Acer laptop Travelmate (6 years), running fully updated Windows Vista, Danish language. Firefix 35.0.1.

    Regards Lars Jensen

an option may be to tackle this particular update for now until there is a fix from microsoft or you could also look at if there is a graphics driver update available on the Web site of the seller (intel/amd/nvidia) which could also be solved this problem in some cases.

  • How to run Windows update for Win XP SP3 using Firefox

My desktop PC computer running windows XP with SP3. My spouse uses IE 8 for its browser. I use Firefox Version 24. for my browser. Previously, whenever we ran MS or Windows update it starts IE and works very well. IE 8 blew up and does more (execution errors). I tried to go to the site to update Windows using Firefox and he came back and told me that I had to use IE to launch Win update on an XP system. Is this true? I don't want to use IE at all. Is it possible to use Firefox to run Windows or MS update on my Win XP system? Thank you.

You cannot run windows update using Firefox because it uses controls ActiveX Firefox is not (and will never). Yes, then unfortunately use IE for Windows update.
