The computer is now going through the standard (I guess they are standard) updates for Windows and successfully completed several rounds of them.   If you receive the error Windows Update 80070002 of updates, you must remove the temporary files to update that Windows uses to identify updates for your computer. To remove temporary files, stop the Windows Update service, delete the temporary update files, restart the Windows Update service and then try to check for Windows updates again.
