Windows Update - updates is not complete.
I've updated Windows updates automatically every day, and it has always worked well. However, since February 13, 2010, it seems stuck in a loop. No error, it just shows continuously "Searching for Updates" for hours! If I stop the laptop that I get the prompt it is install 3 3 0% complete and the machine finally turns off. I checked for viruses, etc., using Norton. I use Vista. Any help with this sort would be very appreciated.
The article I provided shows you different methods of recovering the computer again to before that was the problem.
Read the article, get the computer back to before the problem occurred, and then study this update/s caused the problem. TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2010 - Update Services

Windows Update is not complete
I have a computer that has downloaded the updates of Windows and screen hangs with "please wait" after the computer is restarted.
It's a Toshiba L355 with Vista Home Premium. It starts up in safe mode and explains the update is complete.
I tried to do a system repair, and he says that he has nothing wrong.
I also tried selecting the Restore Points around May 10 without success.
Someone at - it any other suggestions?
What you need to do is to proceed to a repair facility.

Windows 8 update does not complete
I just opened this machine with Win8 and wanted to update 8.1, but was invited to update Windows Update first.
I ran the update, which asked me to restart the laptop. I restarted the first time, I went back to the Windows Update screen that asked another reboot. Now around 20 restarts later, I'm looking at the prompt still asking me to restart.
What is the problem with that? What can I do to fix it please?
Hi Aditya,
I understand that you can not upgrade to 8.1 Windows as you cannot install Windows updates.
As you mentioned that you got the restart option which indicates that updates have been downloaded successfully and then you tried to restart the computer and the option restart Vienna once again.
It indicates that Windows updates is not installing on the computer.
To better understand the issue, please send us the following information:
- What is the brand and model of the computer?
- You get the error message during the installation of Windows updates?
I suggest you follow the steps below and see if there are updates failed:
- Press the Windows key + R
- Type wuapp
- Click view update history
You can also see the article below for the resolution of the issues related to Windows update:

Pavilion G7 1355 A9Y70EA: windows update does not
I had to do a complete reinstall of my windows 7 and even recovery if everything else seems in good condition, the function of windows update does not work despite my now do a restore complete 3 times and also executes all microsofts fix programs for this problem, also tried several fixes YouTube, but nothing works , are getting desperate now. He said only updates and the small bar just keep on crossing of forever with nothing else to be... Help...
Thans for the answer, I understand what you say, it's just that, until I discarded the computer a few days before (by foolishly following a tip to youtube to speed up computer that has totally stopped it start) windows update worked very well and it has been since a windows 10 installation and a removal of windows 10 the next day a few months ago. The folder c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution/windows/download exist with only 2 files with names very long gibberish and it is only 15 kb and the other file is 39 k, which seems to be far big enough for any update. I was wondering if instead of the clean install from the recovery partition would be any different doing a clean install from the recovery disks that I did when I got the laptop? see you soon
Made no difference with update disk and these 2 small updates are only updated Adobe and after 3 off straight, the bar is still meandering along, my update history shows only updates from 2012 when win7 was installed everything first... * beep * Microsoft!
P. S.
Yesterday, I decided I had enough and started to install windows from a download 10 earlier, but after it began, I thought "no you know you hated" so I canceled the installation. That's about 3 hours later when I went to stop the laptop it says close and install the updates, so, after 4 hours of installing updates 251 and restarted then installed another 41 updates, then again on the next closure, so basically, I think that the few installation the windows 10 made seemed to start updates to speed?

Windows Update does not properly
I am running windows 7 on a hp Q8300 quad core desktop computer processor. Windows Update (do not remember the official name) has worked well up until now. 2 days ago it downloaded updates and and asked to close at the end of a session, as it is often done without any problem.
Now when you start again it says something like "processing and installation of updates 0% complete, do not turn off your computer. It was 0%. Finally, it will start in any case, but updates are not yet installed.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Download and save the Fixit on this page - How to reset the Windows Update components?
Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers.
Now Configure the system to boot .
NOTE: If a 3rd party firewall was previously used, open Windows Firewall in Control Panel to make sure that the native Windows 7 firewall is now on.
In the clean boot state, all the firewalls of 3rd party will be disabled. Using the Fixit the system must be connected to the internet. Now run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose the default mode. Reboot the system to the same State of clean boot and see if he can find, detect and download updates now. If it is possible, then Cancel the Clean boot steps and restart in normal Windows mode.
In normal Windows mode, can the system installs updates now?
If this isn't the case, configure the system to boot once more and run the Fixit by using aggressive mode. Restart when it's done and follow the steps above to see if the system can update now.

When running Windows Update is not reproduce my office and rather trashes everything. Ysterday I left to work with over a dozen research Internet Explorer open and this morning, I get to a Windows auto update cycle, which wrecked all. Well Yes, they are lost and of course, I can spend an hour or more to find once again but my boss is breathing down my neck, as if it was my fault. Microsoft how inconsiderate!
Of course, I have a solution, TURN OFF Microsoft Update but is this really what Microsoft wants?
Please people think.
Hi jbeech,
No, I don't work for Microsoft and I am not associated with them in any way (other than to receive awards and certificates I earned on my own). I'm a volunteer civilian gift free time to help other people.
I meant nothing personal, per my comments of workflow. I was just trying to do my best to help you avoid this problem in the future and apologize if you took it the wrong way. I agree with you that he must restore it things automatically (as it does when you use the hibernation), but maybe that can be done (at least not always) because updates may affect items that are open and to update these programs must be closed (which makes saving them more difficult because if they look different after the update) It may not work if we try to restore them unless they can find a way to save ONLY the information and it is a much more difficult task). This problem does not occur with an accident or an unexpected shutdown (and a complete restoration in cases does not always work as well and completely that we hope - at least I had problems back exactly where I was with all that every time).
While you can choose to turn off automatic updates, you don't want to not go for very long without updating your system, so checking periodically (although if you want to do on a daily basis - I would try at least every Wednesday at least since most updates are released every Tuesday) is important in all cases. The option I suggested (i.e. automatic downloads but no facilities) would at least them already downloaded (you would not need to check - that they would be there) it would take much less time to choose and install if you show if off completely - and when you decide to install, you will find it takes MUCH more time because you need to download and install (unless they are already downloaded). But it is entirely up to you.
Good luck and best wishes!

Windows Update will not accomplish
I can't get Windows Update (KB2419632) is completed successfully. When I click on the yellow shield in the system tray, I get no error message, but when the system restarts, the yellow shield is back in the system tray. I let restart probably 10 to 12 times, but will not always all the update. Also I tried to download the update directly from the Microsoft Web site with the same result.
Any ideas how I can get this update at the end?
You have downloaded already manually updated, registeredand then tried to install it or you choose run rather then save it?
If you chose the second method, or even if you chose the first, suggest you download a new copy and Save it -update security for Windows XP (KB2419632)
Once the download is complete, configure XP to start in the start state in minimum mode, then unplug the computer of internet connection, it is for now and restart.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a clean boot stateAfter the reboot to clean boot state, run KB2419632 (WindowsXP-KB2419632 - x 86 - ENU.exe).
Restart the system for same clean boot state.
Then Undo the Clean boot steps and restart in normal Windows mode.
You can reconnect the computer to the network/internet connection now.The update notification icon still?

I'm running 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell Dimension E520 PC desktop with processor Pentium dual core and 3 GB of RAM.Reasonably up-to-date hardware. Well protected and all software security entirely to so far.My problem that goes from Windows Update is not install updates from 14/04/2009 and returns the error Code 80070002.I followed the advice and went in the Windows Software Distribution folder and remove all the contents of the data store and records downloads and tried again about thirty times now.I get regarding the acceptance of the license agreement and clicking on, ok, when Vista dims the screen and asks if I started it and then the error message in Windows Update, saying: "some updates were not installed."Is not a computer expert, I guess that what is described in help Windows Update error Code 80070002 is the same as 0 x 80070002 for which I found advice on a Microsoft page to save these commandsnet stop wuauservCD %systemroot%\SoftwareDistributionRen Download.old downloadnet start wuauservas a windows batch file and run as administrator.I now have a download folder and Download.old folder. Fascinating but no help at all!I infer that the numbers of 0x0 are my six error codes failed attempts to install Vista Service Pack 1, a few months ago who always ended up with an unusable computer suspended with a black screen and the white writing showing 46 thousand of 96 thousand file and something, followed by a number of 0x0.The only way I could get of these attempts was by booting from the Installation of Vista disk, masking the Service Pack 1 update and using the system restore, but that's another story.Have an impact on my current problem, I wonder? For absolute clarity are the updates that won't install:Explores update for Internet Explore 7 edition (KB963027) 14/04/2009 (Just editing that.) I have the same symptoms: from a distinct point in time updates of windows works more and every time returned the error code 80070002.
After a few hours, I found the solution: sfc/scannow reported the wuauclt.exe file.
And the reason was: McAfee virusscan put this file in quarantine. He is falsely W32/Generic.worm.aa in there.
Restore this file from the GUI of McAfee completely solved this problem. -
I got a report that my drive was in imminent danger of failure. Bought and made a direct disc-copy of the old disk cloning. Everything seems to work fine, but now I'm getting the pop up that says Windows is "not true." Windows shows as active, and nothing I've tried will stop the pop-up. Worse, Windows Update does NOT work, and without running a few updates, I'm dead in the water for the use of new devices.
I ran MGADiag. Here is that content. Any help is greatly apprectiated!

My computer will not install the important updates Service Pack. Support.Microsoft recommend safe, but in view Mode Setup without failure, you can not open the program update of Windows (from all programs). If I left click or right click and open nothing happens except that I immediately back to the Safe Mode screen.
Hello- What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?
- You receive an error message?
I want to say that windows update does not work in safe mode.I suggest you follow the below methods that can help you solve your problem.Method 1: You can download Service pack 1 in normal mode and install in safe mode.Method 2: If above does not work, follow the procedure below:
Step 1:I suggest you to disable any program of security on your computer and check if it solves the problem. After reviewing the question you must reactivate the security on your computer program.Note: Run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.Step 2:I suggest that you put your computer in a clean boot, try to install service pack 1 and control.See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Once I have click on windows update, it just sits there with the bar running, showing me his 0%. Please if someone might know a solution, that would help a lot.
Yes. I had the same problem, I installed the update when my power went out, so I couldn't download it, but managed to get the update that I needed the microsoft Web page and we smooth sailing since then.

You can run a scan online free at windows live onecare security scan windows 7\vistahttp://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm windows live onecare safety scanner windows xphttp://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm wait your computer will be unavailable for a while. do not work on your computer while the scanners however running, he messes things.
