Windows XP dead

This question was originally posted here: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/d2ed020c-7f91-4690-8bb2-83fa8301680c

I have 2 operating systems on my computer. Genuine Windows XP and Windows 7.

I use Windows 7 for this post.
I have a lot of problems with them

1. when I turn on the computer memory test forever account.
2. once I click ESC on 1 problem, disk (40) error. Then I have to press F1

After that,.
An option is shown if I want to use
"An earlier version of windows" or
"Windows 7".

Problems in Windows XP (click on the "earlier Version of windows"):

Whenever I click on it, I have to choose
'Safe mode '.
"Safe mode with network.
"Safe mode with command prompt.
"Last known good configuration".
"Start windows normally".

If I choose "Safe Mode", several lines like this are displayed:
multi (0) disk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\program.exe
and he stops and crashes:
multi (0) disk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\gogp30kx.sys
and I have to click the button restart

If I choose "last kown good configuration ', 'start windows normally."
It displays a white charger downstairs bar, and when it loads at the end
of the screen, and then it stops and blocks.

How can I fix these problems?

I have a Windows Vista SP1 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM and 2 3850's Radeon ATi CrossFireX. in any case, I have a program called mechanical system, you've all probably heard before, this is an excellent program to clean your hard disk and defragment your memory. However, I ran last night and said the program automatically restarts the computer when it ended, after that he finished and I rebooted was greeted with the atrocious Black Screen of Death with a cursor, if it is not blinking and I can move it freely, but there is nothing I can do with it given the background task bar is non-existent and the entire screen is black.

I tried some of the solutions, I can not even the CTRL + ALT + DELETE to get into task manager and manually start explorer.exe; Help me please. The only type of response I can get from the system is to obtain the keys to stick to pop up when I hit the SHIFT key five times. I am very confused. I don't have external hard drives hooked up to it and there is no thumb-drive connected via USB either. I'm completely puzzled here. Please help me.

    Hello

System Mechanic, by Iolo is one of the best of this type of program, he's trying to at least
be legitimate, however it is still a Registry Cleaner and system optimizer that leaves a
much to be desired in terms of compatibility. These programs are more likely to ask questions
While fixing anything. Most are like snake oil. So my advice would be to uninstall. If you insist
use make sure you have done a current Restore Point before using it and keep current backups
    on the primary drive.

  • Windows Vista does not start or repair

I get a black screen, can't get into safe mode but can get bios.  Haven't tried to do a repair with the DVD of Vista, but when asked to choose an operating system to repair there is no choice.  So I can't fix or recover.  Why is this?  What should I do?  Vista is running on a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop.  Had no problems with it over the past two years.  I'm new doing a restore or a repair, but it seems that I have do everything correctly so far.  Can't understand why I can't choose an operating system to repair.

  • Bluescreen windows 7 have almost all tried, I still think I have.

bought a Toshiba laptop C655 2 months ago came with Windows 7 installed, no CD about a week ago I started having of bluescreen and I was go nuts trying hard and have done almost everything I read about fixing. I lost the internet connection this morning, using work computer now to send the message. I got to the screen and restore fix "out the State of the checkbox" the progam will work until the blue screen appears and the computer crashes. I did recovery CD as soon as I put on the computer. I'm guessing that the program "back to out of the box" will require the CD to a point, Yes? Some of what is written on how to fix bluescreen must be rewritten I think that, as for rolling back the drivers, in my case that is not a choice received as well as other options like it my computer is more would offer the most choices gives the bibliography. Well, like any time anyone has read this.

    Hello

The "' back to out of the box ' will wipe everything off the drive." If you need to save the
the existing data, you can put the hard drive in another computer as a 2nd drive (better) or in
an external USB case - either of those who will allow you to copy the data to a removable media
such as CD, DVD or other USB drives. Another method would be to use a Ubuntu Livecd to
Start the computer and save the data. Of course to repair the computer or Windows is
    always a possibility.

Toshiba will sell you the Installation media cheap since you already own Windows (this is necessary
If the recovery disk does not work and is a good idea to have). Also, you can do a repair disk that
will often work when the recovery disc will not - do on any XP, Vista, Windows 7
computer with a CD/DVD burner because it uses no files from the host computer.

Check with Toshiba support, their drivers online (update or reinstall) and their forums.

  • Black screen with cursor, no login screen; Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

    Hi all

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Win7 Home Premium 32 - bit with IE9. It worked perfectly fine for over a year. The last update listed in the system restore was on 23/04/2011. He installed the Windows updates.

My husband used the computer very well the next morning. When I tried to start the computer, it wouldn't so I thought that maybe the battery should be charged. I plugged it in and nothing helped. The load button wouldn't even nothing worked at all. I bought a new battery and it came yesterday. I changed the batteries and let one over new-completely. I then tried to start the computer and he did something I could not do in months... He ran the disk check.

The disk check lasted almost 2 hours. He wouldn't let me cancel it either. He said (from the pieces that I could see) that system files have been moved, a ton of them said that they have been replaced, others have been removed, and some have been updated. I knew not what do when it restarted because it did it is normal startup, showed at the Windows startup screen and then when I thought he was going to the login screen, it became black and only the cursor has been visible and moving.

I restarted again and this time the display of incorrect closing came. I tried all the options - normal mode, safe mode safe mode w/networking and safe mode w/prompt - all results were the same. Then I tried using the recovery tool to fix the problem. Startup Repair showed no problem, System Restore showed either deleted or corrupted files and I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and it showed no problems. I even ran the Diagnostic tool in the start menu.

I think that chkdsk deleted my files of Windows, but I don't know how to get back them. I have the OS disk and tried to use the repair feature, but nothing yet. Also, I had to ask my husband did it to my laptop and he answered nothing. So I had to be more specific, and his answer to my questions were: ' I didn't download anything "and" I just closed the laptop, I never disconnected or shut it down. I guess that's the reason for the battery works not properly the next day.

If someone could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

    Hello

Why my screen is black when I start Windows 7?

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

No registration necessary data and re - install Windows 7 might be the best
the option but here are some others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer or a
drive enclosure external hard and then save the. Do this using several
methods to redundantly. Of course a real computer store or
the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - Double
Click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right-click on
    Devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in two regular windows
and Safe Mode) is to CTRL + ALT + DEL - Manager tasks and the
Processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it-
then on the Applications tab - lower right kind - new task - in
EXPLORER.exe. Safe Mode is available by pressing F8 repeatedly
you the trunk upwards. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not come back

Screen black issues are extremely difficult to repair and to any fix is
usually on a hit or miss basis. There is no information on a black background
screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the difficulty. Often
using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect.

You can try a google to see the proposed repairs, some of which have
works however these cover a wide field of efforts.

  • Problem with window new opening

    Hello

I have a problem in my application when opening new window by clicking on the button (window.open ('http://...')). After the new window opens, "parent" window becomes dead - all session variables are lost, and as a result, he throws the user to the login screen (default page).

I noticed that the URL in both windows have the same CFIDs and different JSession ID.

Does anyone know how to handle this problem, another words how to make new window open with CCFC new?

I don't know if it is for this reason, but cannot imagine anything else.

    Thank you in advance,

    LKhodab.

According to the standard HTTP protocol, all applications are completely stateless and have absolutely no connection to any other reqeust coming before or after.

To enable session state management, ColdFusion uses cookies to know when a new application needs to share data with an application that preceded it.  These cookies can be either a pair called "CFID" and "CFTOKEN" or a named 'JSESSIONID '.

When you use JavaScript to create a child window in a browser, ColdFusion doesn't know anything about.  All he knows is that he gets another request.  If this request does NOT contain valid cookies identifies as belonging to an existing session, ColdFusion will create a new session with completely new data.

If you see different of JSESSIONID values when you open this child window, it's probably what's happening.

  • Satellite P205-s6257: need of recovery CD

    Hello

I've had this laptop for about 5 months, but I needed to get my computer back. I was half way thorugh the recovery and it has encountered an error. It was corrupted, I don't remember what it was precisely because only a few months before.

I Googled it at the time and it has been altered. Since then, I've been using windows XP but it is not supported for this model, which means that it's difficult to find the drivers and everything.

In any case, I thought that it would be a little clever and install windows Vista via the upgrade disc that came with my computer and I managed with my key that is printed in the system.
The only problem was that it would not activate.

I'm guessing that because it was an OEM serial number, but the phone numbers, he gave me to activate windows were dead.
I need the disk recovery sending me but I live in Cyprus, so I don't really know where to start.

    Can anyone help please?

    See you soon
    Oliver

    Hi Oliver

It can be tricky, because you probably have a model of cell phone US and your local service partner will probably say they can offer recovery DVD for laptop designed for this market.

It will be interesting to know what error occurs during the recovery procedure.

I don't really know what you can do. Either you ask for assistance by service. They should start the recovery procedure to see exactly what is happening, or you can get the facilities of Microsoft Vista DVD. All the drivers and other stuff of Toshiba you can find on Toshiba support page.

Update is not the best solution for me. I prefer the new installation of the OS.

It's an old computer and I do not know what version of Windows it was running.  I guess I need a bootdisk of exploitation, but where can I download that?  Or would it be easier to pull and make a secondary drive in my computer that I just replaced?  It works under Windows XP.

    Hello

If the old system does not start could be the hard drive. Put the hard drive in another computer as a 2nd drive and then access the files. If you use a computer XP, Vista or Windows 7, you should be able to access the files, unless the drive has failed.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd drive (better) or a USB external drive case and then save up to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives. Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Yes if you format the drive it erases it's clean. Did you put the drive in the computer as the 2nd disc
If the computer still starts off the coast of its original disk? It's easier to do on a desktop.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external

INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE bug control has a value of 0x0000007B. This bug check indicates that the Microsoft Windows operating system has lost access to the system partition during startup.

Important information if you have received a STOP Code

If you have received a blue screen error, or stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error. If your copy of Windows is shipped with your computer, contact your computer manufacturer. If you purchased Windows separately from your computer, Microsoft provides support. To find contact information for Microsoft or the manufacturer of your computer connect with Support.

If you have experience with computers and try to recover from this error, follow the steps in the Microsoft article solution STOP (blue screen) errors in Windows.

The following actions could prevent a mistake like this does not happen:

    1. Download and install updates for your computer from Windows Update device drivers.
    2. Scan your computer for computer viruses.
    3. Check your hard drive for errors.

    Cause

Bug INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE control often occurs due to a failure of the boot device. During the initialization of the I/O system, the boot device driver could have no initialize the boot device (usually a hard drive). Initialization of file system may have failed because it does not recognize the data on the boot device. In addition, repartition the system partition or installing a new SCSI adapter or disk controller could encourage this error.

This error can also occur because of incompatible disc material. If the error occurred in the initial configuration of the system, the system have maybe installed on an unsupported drive or a SCSI controller. Some controllers are supported only by the drivers that are in the library of drivers Windows (WDL). (These drivers require the user to perform a custom installation.)

    Resolution

This error always occurs during the startup of the system. This error often occurs before the debugger connection, kind of debugging can be difficult, if not impossible.

Fix a defective boot device: If a boot device is at fault, you must change the boot options. For more information changing these options, see Software Configuration on the target computer.

Solve a problem of incompatible hard disk: If the installation program automatically detects the controller, you may have to skip the detection and the disc of the specific manufacturer allows to load the driver. Also, check the availability of updates for the firmware of the system BIOS and SCSI controller. Updates of this kind are usually available on the website or BBS of the hardware manufacturer.

Delete all material recently added, especially of hard disks or controllers, to see if the error is resolved. If the problematic material is a hard drive, the firmware version of the drive may be incompatible with your version of the Windows operating system. Contact the manufacturer for updates. If you have removed another material element and the error is resolved, conflicts of port IRQ or i/o likely exist. Reconfigure the new device according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Confirm that the hard disk drivers, hard disk controllers and SCSI adapters are listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.

If you have recently added a driver, restart your computer, and then press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system. In the menu of Advanced Options , select the last known good Configuration option. This option is most effective when you add a single driver or service at a time.

In addition, check your computer for viruses using any update, commercial software that examines the Master Boot Record of the disk hard antivirus. All systems of Windows files can be infected by viruses.

This error can also occur due to corruption of the hard drive. Run Chkdsk /f /r on the system partition. You must restart the computer before the start of the analysis of disk. If you cannot start the computer due to the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk/r.

If you cannot start the system in the last known good configuration, you should try to boot from the Windows CD. Then, you can run Chkdsk from the Repair Console.

Warning   If your system partition is formatted with the FAT file system the long file names that use the Windows operating system could be damaged if you use Scandisk or another MS-DOS-based disk tool to verify the integrity of your hard disk from MS-DOS. Always use the version of Chkdsk that matches your version of Windows.

If your system has SCSI adapters, contact the card manufacturer for updated Windows drivers. Try to disable sync negotiation in the SCSI BIOS, check the wiring and the SCSI ID of each device and confirming the proper termination. For IDE devices, define the IDE port integrated as primary only. Also check each IDE device for setting good master/subordinate/stand alone . Try to remove all IDE devices except for the hard drives. Finally, check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver that generated the error.
