Windows XP - Download Confirmation window - HELP?

I'm re-identification all my windows 'stuff' (settings/folder options, desktop, etc.) after having to reformat my hard drive, and I find I have forgotten how I did some of them LOL

In the browsers I use, I have a download statusbar that I use and in the options I put it to automatically download most of the file types I met, however, Windows is still popping up a window for confirmation of download like this:

http://I77.Photobucket.com/albums/J41/PaganPricess/screenshots/DownloadConfWindow_1.jpg

Before reformat, this window has no pop up as my browser add-ons/extensions took care of that... How do I get this to not pop-up "as default' no more?

Thank you very much in advance for the help/advice/suggestions.

    Hello

Unless you have an idea, when it started and what changes have been made before the appearance of this problem (and by changes it could be software installation/uninstall, update existing software, make changes, etc), you should probably do a reinstall. If you have a Vista disc to the same level as the current installation, insert it and follow the instructions for an inplace upgrade. If you have a system pre-installed with recovery of manufacturer, follow their instructions.

Randomly change file permissions should not solve your problems.

Linux is a viable alternative, but it may suffer corruption as well, and you will probably find a real support to fail.

I followed this as mentioned in the help, but I got this message

    C:\Windows\Help\OEM\scripts \launche. JSE

    I use windows Vista

So what can I do to restore my system?
waiting for your support with kindness

    Hello

There are two ways to do this.

Most computers these days don't come with recovery discs.

Instead, computer image makers a recovery Partition on the hard drive in order to reinstall the operating system to.

That the recovery process says return to factory (new State) settings

To access the recovery partition, you should be able to find it in the start menu > programs > list of software from the manufacturer of your > search for recovery options.

A simpler method to start the press a key or sequence of keys at startup (when you start your computer)

So maybe F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc. depending on your manufacturer.

You must ask them or online on their website or the Support Forums to know the exact key / s press.

Another method is to ask them to send you a set of recovery discs, which will do the same.

They will charge a small cost for this service.

Back up the data that it will be lost during the recovery process, and all programs that you have installed will need to be reinstalled from the original media (CD, DVD, download Net).

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.

  • Best calls "Windows Help" Attorney call me to say I have a security problem on my PC and wants that I let him remote connect to solve this problem, it is legitimate?

The first few times we call I refused to listen to because it sounded wrong, but this time I heard him out and that's what they said. First, he was of the India, I think his accent and he said he was calling to inform me about a security problem with my PC, it is said to "Best Windows Help" and that my network was showing at its end with a red light indicating a problem. He had opened the Run command and type of command bar to display the observer of events and go to the newspapers of Win and click Applications, then he wanted me to scroll the Application events and see how many errors was there. Between 20 and 50 I said, he said oh yes you have a problem and that he could fix in a few minutes, then it puts me in a collaborator of his that says display the control bar run then type "Iexplore www.support.me" which led me to a "Logmein Rescue page to https://secure.logmeinrescue.com/Customer/Code.aspx. At this point, that he asked me to give him full access to my PC in which I said, "you're crazy, no way" and he said OK then your PC will freeze and crash and I said a few words very friendly back and hung up. They seem to call every month or two and it looks like the same guy. Is it a Con? Who is this company "best Windows Help and how are they finding me? They say the information they hold comes from Microsoft. My caller ID lists like V052409070106, phone # (202) 011 - 3341. What is everything. Also, my PC is not crash or freeze because I installed it 2 years ago. I am running Win 7 Pro with Microsoft Security Essentials and windows Firewall behind a Cisco router.

Scam.  They said that my computer was downloading malicious code and therefore transmit signals the error on their server.

They have a Web site, as afar as I can tell.  I asked the guy at the phone for his site.  He couldn't give me a Web site URL or couldn't pronounce correctly.  He was frustrated and hung up.  Scam.

  • 0xc000007b error code when you open Windows Help and Support

    I am running Windows 7 Home on a HP G71-449WM laptop .

It is a double question I guess.  I was troubleshooting my web cam doesn't work does not and was directed to reinstall a mediasmart missing file to test because I couldn't locate.  Tried this and it would not install.  Downloaded fine, but would not install properly.

He suggested then I go to Windows Help and Support, and when I try to run I get the same code, there was an error and the program does not load error 0x000007b code.

How to fix this?   I'm pretty comfortable with troubleshooting on mine, but I can't even solve the problems now.
