  • Satellite U940 - 12 c: Windows 8 license code?

    Hello.

I own a Toshiba Satellite U940 - 12 c. Due to a sequence of horrific circumstances, I'm done with a laptop without Windows 8 and without access to the recovery partition. If there is no idea of how to make to access these data recovery, please tell me.

But the question is: How can I get my copy of Notepad of Windows 8 license code? Is it possible?

    Thank you and goodbye.

If you can access the recovery partition on ordinary road, there is no other way to do and saved on your laptop recovery image is useless. It is a pity that you n t have created a recovery media that could be used for a clean install of Win8.

Maybe you don't believe this, but the license key is also useless and cannot be used for a clean install of Windows. This code is part of the original pre-installed version you got with your laptop.

Best option for you is to order the original recovery disk and use it for Win8 installed. You can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Windows 98 license number

can anyone answer me on this issue of license? My application needed to run on windows 98, but because Windows 98 is selling to the market, can we just install to use it without buying any license? or can buy us Windows 7 license, then install Windows 7 and Windows 98 together? Or how to fix this?

    Hello Ming21

You cannot install Windows 98 without a product key and the key for Windows 7 will not work under Windows 98. However, you can use the compatibility mode to try to get apps for Windows 98 work under Windows 7. View the links below to understand how.

  • Windows XP license for home computers

If an individual has Windows XP on a computer at home, and they get a second computer for use in their home, can I use the Windows XP license from their original computer to install XP on their second computer? Or should they buy a second copy of Windows XP for use at home?

If you have a version of Windows XP OEM (the one that came with a new computer), you can only install it on this computer.

If you have a retail version of Windows XP, you can remove a computer and install it on another computer.

If you want Windows XP on both computers, you must purchase a second copy.

  • Windows 7 license expires?

    Hello

I've heard that's allowed expires after one year after activation of windows 7, and then customers must buy a new product key to continue to use windows 7. Is it true or is it just a rumor?

    Thanks in advance.

  • UEFI and Windows 10 licenses

I have read that with UEFI system, Windows 10 licenses are hardcoded in the UEFI firmware. This means that if I format my drive, wipe my recovery partitions and install 10 Windows from a USB key (assuming that it is not a recovery of my own drive machine, but an image downloaded from Windows written on it) it will be automatically validated and I'll have a legal installation?

    Hello

If this is the same operating system supplied with the computer, it should work. It will go through a normal installation of Windows without having to request the license key.

  • Reuse of Windows 7 license after free update of Windows 10?

    Hi all!

I was wondering if I'll be free to reuse my Windows 7 license key after the free upgrade to Windows 10 on July 29.

I've already reserved my copy, and yes I'm very happy. The only problem I see is because it is a version of Windows 7 OEM for Sony VAIO, so maybe it will not work if I use it in a new computer? If I can in any?

I hope that you guys understand my question and good day!

    Hello

Your Windows 7 OEM license has become an integral part of the upgrade to Windows 10 process.

If you cannot reinstall Windows 7 as a dual boot either in your Sony or move it to another computer.

OEM licenses that you cannot transfer anyway.

OEM licenses are tied to the first machine, on which they are installed and die when the machine that dies.

    See you soon.

  • Qty 9 Vista > Windows 7 licenses

How can I get Qty 9 Windows 7 licenses for Vista OEM computers & detail 9?

I have 9 computers running genuine Vista Home Premium (32-bit 5, 4 64 bit) licensed. I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. (A clean install is ok if a place in the upgrade is not an option). I did Digital River 32 - bit and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium discs. So I think that I now only need Windows 7 Home Premium licenses?

Most of the computers are OEM (HP, Dell) but 3 computers had installed retail Windows (non OEM) and 1 was an upgrade on the spot of XP to Vista. Will be the licenses that I find work any installation of Vista was already installed? I am not concerned by the assumption, only the licenses that I get to be recognized and authenticated during the installation.

What would be the best (cheapest) way for me to get the licenses I need? I prefer not to buy physical media of retail packages that sell usually for $90 - $99 which is almost $1,000 and they are all old computers. I found a place online selling 'Download only' licenses for $55, which seems to be a reasonable investment to keep these computers going a few more years. I've never bought only before licenses. Is a reasonable price of $55, or is there a way easier, cheaper or better? How much would be volume licensing become an option?

Finally, if I do a fresh install can I take the 32-bit Vista systems and make all 7 computer 64-bit Windows systems by installing simply with the 64-bit key? This way I could end up with 9 computers all running Windows 7 64 bit that would make things a little easier.

Last question: a license of Windows 7 can be used to install Windows 7 on a computer that was originally XP? Currently, the computer in question has no OS installed but has a valid XP COA sticker and installation disk original XP (Dell OEM XP SP2 "Reinstall operating system drive").

Thank you for answering my questions of license.

You know what this site is selling? MSDN/TechNet licenses:

On MSDN or TechNet product key

They are genuine Microsoft product keys, they are in fact retail licenses, but it is expected for a product specific Microsoft Software Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet channel for professionals who pay a subscription. The main objective is for evaluation purposes. The big thing to their subject, unlike Microsoft, MSDN or TechNet keys evaluation software expires. Because the agreement by virtue of which the subscription is provided is a single license, none of the software should be distributed outside of it. Although its $50,000 worth of licenses, it is for one person only for use and no one else. Unfortunately, no matter the conditions of license, people still abuse of the program, two key product gift or sell on auction sites. Microsoft it issues licences in good faith that customer will not do it, but I guess human nature win on.

In your case, what can happen, you buy a MSDN license key, which carries up to 10 activations unlike packed full of retail licenses which carry 1 activation. The person who sells you probably eventually sold to 10 other people. Somewhere along the way, one of these people could have installed on a second system activated, because it went past 10 activation threshold, Microsoft has detected that he was abused and blocked the key for later use.

  • Should I install Vista Ultimate on all computers laptops before moving on to a 3 Windows 7 license three?

I'm considering the purchase of three laptops for home use and the case I've seen is for three laptops without operating system. I prefer Windows 7 64 - bit Windows 8 and, of course, need a license of user-3. I don't mind if it's Home Basic, Home Premium, professional or ultimate edition, but an 'Upgrade' will work and if not, what would? I have a spare disk Vista Ultimate, which I have not used more than once when I tried the upgrade to XP and didn't like it, so I went back to XP (present under Windows 7 Ultimate for my main PC) Vista has been in the area since then. I hope I did not install Vista Ultimate on all computers laptops before moving on to 3 Windows 7 license, three but I have a feeling vague feeling that I have to do exactly this. You confirm please?

Original title: clean install on the new laptop

Just keep in mind that the OEM versions are equipped with the installation media DVD 32-bit or 64-bit (not both as a retail version) and a product key.

Also the OEM versions are related to the first card of mother/computer it is installed on and cannot be moved to another PC.

The cost of an OEM version is much cheaper than commercial versions, especially since Microsoft stopped selling Windows 7.

As laptops have no OS installed, you need a way to test the system before you try to install an OEM version. I've provided two links to download Windows 7 Home premium (not), but you can install (install without a key) and it allows to test each laptop computer before installing an OEM version.

  • Downgraded Windows 7 license key

3 years ago, I got a PC from mesh (which are now passed in the administration.)  About six months ago, I upgraded to Windows 8, then 8.1 (which gave me a new product key.)  It would be good to use this license key on another copy of Windows 7, now that I do not use it?

  • Windows 8 license after replacing the HARD drive

Original title: change of equipment (HARD drive)

Good night, I have a computer laptop windows 8 and I fear that the HARD drive (malfunction) he'll need replacement.

My question is, what will happen to my windows 8 license, once my current HARD drive stop working (because the key is encrypted in the bios)?
Please note that in the country where I live customer support is, at best, ineffective, so personal attention is not an option.
    Thank you before hand.
    Send you my best regards.

    Hi, Caesar,

Activation pairs your product key in your hardware configuration and helps to verify that your copy of Windows is not been used on more computers than to allow the 3668Microsoft Software License Terms.

If you change the hardware on your PC, you must contact support to activate Windows by phone.

As you have decided to replace the hard drive, you could face an activation/Windows not genuine error.  You can follow these steps to make a phone activation.

    a. press Windows key + X , then click run, then type: slui.exe 4

    b. press the ENTER key

    c. Select your country from the list.

    d. choose telephone activation .

    e. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    f. explain your problem to the support person

  • Windows OEM license for physical relationship.

I ask this question in the forum Hardware because what I read; a Windows OEM license is married to a motherboard or hard drive.

Is this true? The results of the research gave me conflicting answers.

What happens if the motherboard or the C: drive dies? the associated Windows license would be lost with her?

A computer components store told me that for the OEM depends more on what are the elements of qualification you purchase, or when you buy them. Which is in conflict with what I read.

Note - my choice of OS Windows is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, SP1, OEM.

OEM qualifies for all DIY systems.

  • I lost the key of Windows 7 license

As stated in the subject, unfortunately I lost the license key for my Windows 7: Home Premium
because of the damage to the sticker (after 3-4 years it disappeared completely)

and by chance he comes to happen I need to reinstall the system (recovery did not work)

So my question is how to communicate effectively with Toshiba on the license key recovery?
I ask because the Polish Toshiba site has completely closed the possibility of contact.

I do not have the reinstallation disk (that I've seen in some subjects) only the license key

Short, but detailed response that you can read here.

  • Portege M800 - refund of Windows Vista license but how?

After that my A100 finally broken I wanted to buy a new laptop (Portege M800). But unfortunately, it comes with Windows Vista and other software that I have any use.

According to my interpretation of the license agreement, that I cannot agree to all conditions of it. Somewhere in the EULA, there is a statement that asks me to return the license to the dealer or the manufacturer for a refund if I am not prepared to sign.

The seller I bought this laptop since would not accept the license and the laptop which is unacceptable to me.
Y at - it a program that allows me to buy this laptop without software?
I want to say this right is granted by the local laws and in addition to this software to the group a hardware device is illegal in my country.

So where can I get the promised refund?

    Hey Buddy

Reading this post I had to smile a little bit :)
The laptop comes with preinstalled Microsoft Windows OS I think that it s Vista

This OS comes with the laptop.
Of course, you can install another OS if you want you have to buy it and you can install it
But I put t believe that you will get no refund license Vista of someone if you want to use

I've never heard of such thing and never met someone who got a refund of such license

  • Windows 8 "license is invalid" after Windows updates (help please!)

    Hello

I have a C540 all in one (no load) running Windows 8 and noticed yesterday that Windows updates have been failure for months then tried to run all the updates so that I can update to 8.1 (and, possibly, 10). At that time (and since purchase - I'm the original purchaser) Windows 8 has been activated very well.

There were various failures and reversions of updates and now Windows does not recognize the Activation Code. The key is material, it shows that I have a key in the registry, but when I entered in the service of Activation of Windows I get the error:

The following error occurred while trying to use the product key:

    Code:
    0xC004F01F

    Description:
The Software Licensing Service determined that the license is not valid.

Microsoft helpfully told me this isn't their problem because it is an OEM license (even if the only thing I've done is apply the updates of Windows) and I need to buy a key to sales at retail. Lenovo speaks for me because I'm out of warranty.

Someone at - it ideas or experience or I'll just have to hit this PC with a massive hammer and not buy Lenovo or authorized OEM PCs again?

    Thanks in advance!

I think I have a half today to answer my own question.

Today (without any changes made to anything) the key to Activation of Windows 8 was suddenly recognized and valid again. Now install each windows update individually also works.

I think that it is possible, but there is an intermittent hardware fault kind on the C540 causing quite different material for the MS license not to recognize the configuration (and think that the license is not valid for the PC), whatever it is not permanent.

Then - in terms of correction... Well I don't have - he went just by itself and I guess he'll be back one day...
